  1. Here you go mate. This set is as new with no marks, scratches or kerbing. Finished in black / chrome Drop me a pm if interested Cheers, Alex.
  2. Ross, Best to get the car on a ramp and have a look at what bottomed out. The o2 sensors which screw into the cats are recessed and fairly high up so I doubt if you will have damaged them. The o2 sensor has a 12" cable attached which plugs into a block connector under the gearbox. This is where I would be looking. If there is nothing obvious, I would still unplug them and check and clean the connections. Failing that, you would be best dropping into Nissan and ask them to check for any current and archived fault codes on your car. Once you have a note of the codes ask the technician to delete all codes and to reset the ECU. Your light will now be out. Post the codes up here and lets have a look at them. If the engine check light has been thrown because of a cat issue then I have a cheap fix for you. Cheers, Alex.

    Handbrake

I was not aware that there is a difference to the handbrake set up between the two models, please correct me if I am wrong. Firstly you will always get a bit of "drag" on the rears due to the driveshafts. The best way to adjust the handbrake is to remove the ash tray and back of the nut on the cable, you will require a deep socket for this. Then remove the rear wheels and the rubber plug in the disc/drum Turn the disc/drum until you can see handbrake adjuster. Flick the adjuster round one click at a time with a flat blade screwdriver until the disc/drum can not be turned. Back off the adjuster until the drum is free to turn. Now do the other side. Finally adjust the cable from inside the ashtray. Check that handbrake is not to tight and the disc/drum is free to turn. Alex.
  4. Me to, so apologese to those that have been waiting on pm replies from me.
  5. Okay here are some pics of the Performance Friction Rotors, I only have 2 sets left. I also have 1 set left of EBC Front Rotors. I have 2 sets of Brembo front Rotors. I have loads of Ferodo 2500 pads. I have 2 sets of Brembo pads. You all know what the Brembo and EBC rotors looks like so no pics. Sorry sold my last two sets of DBA today. If of interest then just drop me a pm. Cheers, Alex
  6. Hi mate I have available Brembo, DBA and Performance Friction rotors available. I will post up some pictures for you shortly. Alex.

    Tappets

Tappet clearances can be checked in situ but to adjust you need the cams off and to get the cams off you need the heads off and the best way to remove the heads is to take the engine out. The heads can be removed with the engine in situ but it is very fiddly and there is a big risk of oil leaks afterwords. I have done it both ways and I now remove engines every time. Good news is, I doubt that it is a tappet noise that you have. Other common engine noises on the VQ35 are fuel dampers. Alex.
  9. If it is a Brembo set up you have then it is eazy peazy but the JDM set up does involve a bit more work. If you are running Brembos then a brake pad upgrade to Ferodo DS 2500 should seriously be considered. Ferodo DS 2500 in stock and available at £180.00. Brembo pads in stock and available at £125.00 Alex.
  10. to the forum and great to have another Roadster owner aboard.
  11. The noise description that you give leads me to agree that it is a wheel bearing issue. You do not specify which type of PF pads you are using and you appear to be running oem rotors. There should be no issues with your calliper pistons but I am concerned that there is a discharge of brake fluid from the bleed screws if in fact that really is the case. As regards a brake upgrade, there is so much available but it will all depend on how much track use you have planned and your budget. I have Brembo, DBA and Performance Friction Brake Rotors all available and Brembo, PF and Ferodo DS2500 pad kits to match all applications. Hel and Goodrich brake lines and Motul Fluid also all available. Alex.
  12. There is no fan belt on the VQ35 as such. There are two belts, the main serpentine belt and the aircon belt, and both are adjustable. If the starter motor is only sticking then a clean will fix it, but if it is an internal electrical fault within the starter then a replacement starter will be required, or it may be a faulty starter motor soleniod which is part of the starter motor. A new starter motor from Nissan is £420.40. I have preowned starter motors available at £125.00. Also check that the ignition switch is not sticking. Alex.
  13. to the forum. Lovely looking car that you have there
  14. Sounds like the pre-engaged starter is sticking in the on position for a few seconds. Disconnect battery, remove starter motor, free off, clean up and lubricate, refit starter motor and reconnect battery.
  15. I am assuming that you know the background to the Nissan Works Rally Raid involvement in Motorsport and that the originall engine spec. would be as below. Nissan were very guarded on there internals but it would not surprise me if they were stock. What internal upgrades that have been done since, if any, would be anyones guess. If you are planning to run big power then best to strip and have a look in side. I strip and refresh my engine every 12 months as a matter of course. 16. The roller type tb that you have is indeed race spec. Is it cable operated or fly by ? Alex.
  17. The ball joint is part of the arm and can not be bought separately.
  18. Especially the locals, but all welcome Thought I would just throw up an open invitation to anyone who might fancy a few passenger laps at Knockhill this coming week. I will be present with the Roadster on the following dates and times providing there are no mishaps. Tuesday 16th 6pm-8pm Thursday 18th 6pm-8pm Saturday 20th 10am-5pm All three events will be well run and a good selection of race cars, road cars, track cars including a few official Time Attack cars should be attending. If you fancy it, all you have to do is sign in, get a wrist band, borrow or hire a helmet and then have some fun. Don't be shy, if you are there, just come over and say hi as early as possible so that you do not miss out. Cheers, Alex.
  19. Firstly to the forum. 13k for an 09 you have two chances of that, none and feck all. Have a look on the forum here as it is a great place to start and if you can't find what you are looking for then you will be sure to find plenty on Pistonheads. Alex.
  20. 2nd gear tend to be a bit tight and notchy when cold but should come good when the transmission oil heats up. The noise that you are hearing is probably idler gear but that is just a hypothesis.
