/\ correct he has just used some slightly better examples! Who are you btw?
-
What do you call a chav in a 350z ? Rich? Sorry that was far far far too easy to not post!
-
Back to the car's please!!!!!
-
I wouldnt say the varying styles of kits is 'chav'. Thats all part of personal choice and what makes modifying much more enjoyable. I.e. Even though i cant stand the ibherdesign kit its a personal opinion and its alot of time and money invested to get it to how the owner wants it. I'm all for that!!! Surely we (the owners) control the destiny of where the car is heading surely?

NS - Being **REMOVED**.com? If so not yet as I cant keep up with the updates on this thread, its like a full time job. I can't type that quickly, plus with the slower pace of activity on **REMOVED** I have loads of time to post. Out of interest Just been looking on my350z.com and they have been having the same discussion. under 'this pertains to 17 year olds getting Zeds'.
-
Wasn't to provoke a reaction, it was to provoke a discussion - at the end of the day I am an owner so directly affected Oh and that quote was just found from searching the words 'translate'. Unfortunately searching the word 'Chav' brought up 43 pages of threads and I wasnt going to look through them

Chesterfield - Don't get me wrong I'm all for change but it should be towards a better in my opinion. I just wanted to know if anyone else had noticed/been affected by/ or is infact the driver of such change!
-
Rich is this what you are refering to as a chav then? All from within the last 6/7 months and this didnt take alot of searching im afraid. Don't get me wrong I own a 350z and love it, just questioning my thinking.
-
correct Richard, But couldnt you argue that a saxo a car that is merely driven by chav's. Im not trying to relate the zed to a saxo just saying that there are a number of choice people with erm 'alternative' tastes leading to some very bad examples of the car and potentially dangerous choices. My questions orginally were does anyone agree? and has any of the longer term members noticed a step change within the last 6 months?

viewtopic.php?f=9&t=30028 - carried on from Thanks Stew for locking my thread as it has been discussed, please can follow suit and lock the threads of ... >350z best exhaust but not wanting to spend over 300 quid >350z specs and the years >should i buy a 350z or rx8 or audi tt >350z bhp 309 or 313 >and CS is a wonderful trader as these have all be discuss already. In all seriousness .... Some of you may have realised I have become a bit of lurker recently but this is for one fear! IS THE 350z BECOMING THE NEXT PERFORMANCE CHAV CAR? Caveat; this is all my opinion and does not reflect the thoughts of the site management We know; With the recession hitting hard these cars have become cheaper and cheaper therefore allowing more people to own them for much less than they are worth (IMHO of course) and with the introduction of the 370z many of the enthusiasts are moving to the latest model. Evidence; R35lee is doing very well and being swamped with written off 350z Young oikes like myself are able to own and insure these cars There are some horrifically bad modified versions of the zed Increase in 'DIY tuner parts' and cheap knock offs Questions Why have cars like; Lotus Elise, Supra, Skyline, Evo all managed to mainly avoid this or have they been through this stage and maturing again? Is it just me that has noticed it? Am I being stupid and should go back to being a lurker! Opinions welcome!

Sorry must have missed it Is it this thread you are refering to..? viewtopic.php?f=13&t=26891

I fully admit that I am into modifying in a big way, but I think there is a right way and a wrong way ... I fear we are heading down the wrong path

This happened to me on a previous car... exactly the same symptoms, nothing could get into the car to diagnose it.. turned out to be a secondary power supply to the ECU, best thing to do is get an Auto electrician out, Might be something as simple as a broken wire, mine was!! Get someone who comes highly recommended who can replace bits of the loom, dedicated to automotive electronics specialist etc, i.e. not a 'tuning shop' or an audio place. As for the suggestion of an uprev retune ermmmmm

That looks very trick, I like that!
-
Please dont call it that, it may not be to everyone taste but its hardly a failure! Mark isn't a combination of the words fake + Veilside? Much like jedward lol Dan

Adam - Your'll probably be able to answer this once installed but does this transfer more vibration to the cabin. Having replaced gearbox [Transmition] mounts on previous car, not a 350z, to prevent the manifold [headers] cracking there was a noticable increase in noise/ vibration? Dan

Does the fuel gauge display the correct fuel level, all the time? If not, it sounds like one of the sender units are at fault. Due to the saddlebag design of the fuel tanks there are two located behind the subwoofer and underneather the passengers storage bin. Fairly easy replacement but it does required a depressurisation of the entire fuel system. Not a cheap part from Nissan, Passengers side is cheaper than drivers as the drives has the fuel pump encorporated.

may I refer you all to bulletmagnets thread about paying for respected companies who have financed for this testing and have the various insurances covered. The simplest way around this is to make the customer sign a disclaimer ensuring all liability is on the customer and this product has received no testing what so ever and therefore no guarentee are issued with the part prior to the sale of the product. Unfortunately I dont think many people would be to comfortable with this but I spose it'd cover your arse. The other thing I would ask is why havent people dont this before? Couldn't imagine that the like of Nismo/Mines/Cosworth havent looked at this and dismissed this. From a personal point of view, I dont think the pressure would be an issue, more the users installing the product or the heat breaking the seal and thus upsetting the maf/ leaning out the car. Similarly the OEM product is a damn good product, its rough inside for a reason (think the golfball analogy, air travels more quickly and smoothly over a rough surface than a smooth one) - Honestly i know that sounds difficult to understand but I can provide loads of literature surround this if you're as boring as me and want to read it. Intakes are very carefully tuned, its a science! All for your enthusiant and I for one love custom parts but selling them is a whole different kettle of fish!

You lot are a moaning bunch!! I did mine myself .... Well everything that is polished in my engine bay has been done by me Yes I know the front timing cover needs alot more work but that is progressing! Dan

I've had enough...*CAUTION HIGHLY PERSONAL RANT*

Very interesting thread and as most know I will go for genuine parts as Ive been stung in the past with cheaper purchases. As Rob (h5) said, yes you can get the overall 'look' alot cheaper else where, but you can spot the differences a mile off and the longevity of a product is where alot of the R&D goes into. I think the best way to round this up is; 'You get what you pay for.' -
Hard to tell whether a camber kit would be required as it varies from car to car but as general rule of thumb is anything over an Inch lower would require 'non-standard' highly adjustable camber arms. Working on this assumption a 20mm drop would not require them.
