  1. Sadly you can't have a pointy front end and high speed stability, as one is a trade off against the other. It's all about balancing the two really, although a bit of toe in at the rear could help with this. I don't think you're being a tart at all mate, it can take a while to get used to it, considering that all manufacturers set their cars up to understeer as it's the safer option. Sounds very much like you past the slip angle of the tyre, so basically if you'd have wound a bit of lock off you'd actually have found yourself turning quicker. That's a symptom of too much steering angle and too much speed, no biggie as we all do it especially in this weather.
  2. Why would you need two if you're not carrying a passenger? And what happens if you're in a car with four people?
  3. You only need as many hi-vis jackets as there are occupants in the car.
  4. And you're not insured. I'm sure you've looked into all this though, so just make sure you have fun and get lots of pics
  5. I couldn't imagine coming away afterwards with both my testicles intact if that's what you mean. Normal women are mental enough for me, I don't think I'd want to push my luck with a weapons grade nutter!
  6. Should you need AV software on a tablet though? More of a rhetorical question than anything.
  7. Not good. Once again, Android's greatest strength proves to also be it's biggest weakness.
  8. Judder could be tyre skipping over the surface where there's zero grip. ABS isn't possible to trigger unless your foot is full hard on the brake pedal and the wheel is locking, or unless you have a serious brake issue. With alignment settings you're only ever talking fractions of a degree to make a difference, and any toe setting that isn't in is going to feel mighty weird if you don't expect it. I'm betting you're finding the car far more eager to turn in though, yes? I have my cars set with toe out, which is great fun
  9. Hi-vis in the cabin for every passenger Spare bulbs all round Red triangle 2x breathalyser kits All you need.
  10. How do you know the ABS activated? Were you braking at the time? My guess would be that the TCS detected slip and killed the spark. Zero toe will make the car feel more skittish than you used to if you were running toe-in (which is very likely, most cars do as it gives more stability in a straight line).
  11. Mentalist. Her, not you. She'd stalk you and kill your bunnies in a flash.
  12. Blimey, they're taking their time over this, aren't they? Have they accepted liability yet?
  13. I'd be going a lot slower than 20mph in a red light district anyway
  14. Should be looking at the road, not the gauge I'd ignore it personally. If the car is otherwise fine, and it's not burning any oil, then I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

    F&F6 GTR-35

The plot on the first one was ace, and aside from the Supra with the million gears it was pretty well acted too. Well, I thought it was, but then I'm not particularly known for my expert taste in films

Looks brilliant. /sarcasm I saw an Alfa in the plane sequence!
  17. See, I don't think it is. In terms of quality of materials over the original DE car yes, but it's a design mess. There's dials and buttons and analogue and digital all mixed in, and it's not a particularly cohesive design. The 350 interior may be simple (plain?), but it's a much more rounded package. It's grown into the exterior looks though, for sure. I found it too fussy at first, but now a few years on I really quite like the stance of the car. Makes the 350 look slabsided and bulbous.
  18. I suspect the other half wouldn't be too impressed if she saw me packing those...! It's a good thought though, if I were single. Which I'm not. And I never will be. Because she's awesome and I'd never cheat on her. Ever. Just in case she ever reads this.
  19. The next step up from 1080p, basically. Super hi-def stuff that no-one really makes anything for at the moment, but it may become the new standard once the market is completely saturated with normal HD equipment. Y'know, just to make us all get our wallets out again!
  20. Funny you should mention that, my 997.1 T4S owning mate threw me the keys yesterday and I went for a play. I have to say that it's still a fantastic car, but it's not for me. The weight of the glass at the top does blunt the handling, as does the softer springs and too harsh damping of the gen1 cars. Throttle response from low down isn't as good as mine either, but then it's the older engine. There's certainly more grip in the wet round tight turns, but it just didn't feel as fun to play with as mine, a little too easy to drive quick IYSWIM. It's odd, that makes it sound as if the 4WD gen1 is awful, but it's really not. It's utterly superb, and possibly the best all-round sports coupe you could buy for sensible money. It just makes me appreciate the little differences of mine even more, and I know I was right to pay a little (lot) more for the newer car. I do need to drive a 991 4S I think, I'll have to speak to my local OPC and see when they're getting a car in. I'm at the Cayman launch there next month, might pester them then.
  21. They did that for the end-of-line 997 GTS cars: 2WD, widebody, powerkit engine, few extra odds and sods in the way of GT2RS sideskirts and front lip, but added a (thankfully optional) alcantara with faux leather interior. Most owners just took the standard leather option. It still wasn't cheap (IIRC it was £8K on top of a standard car), but it was pretty much the ultimate non-GT NA 997. I'd love one.
  22. I'd love to watch it, but sod staying up that late on a school night. Next year I might remember and take the Monday off work, just to say I've seen it.
