Off tomorrow evening towards Folkestone, ready for an early AM crossing on Friday and heading towards Belgium all set for my first trackday at Spa First time at Spa, as well as first European circuit and first current F1 circuit, so I'm really looking forward to it and seeing how it compares with 'normal' UK tracks. Jo has very kindly lent me the STi for the weekend so I won't have to push the MX-5 up Eau Rouge, and since I've never tracked that either it's a proper weekend of firsts! Still need to fit a harness bar and wash the car tomorrow at work at some point, and I'm not even packed yet so it may be a late night. Will be taking my GPHDH3 with me too which I've yet to use (again with the firsts), so hopefully I'll be able to get some decent footage of the day. Fingers crossed the snow holds off

Interesting, that's a similar premium to what we paid to install a harness bar and harness in the Impreza, also insured with Admiral. I too expected a massive wedge, or at least three figures, but it wa only £17. A shift in policy from them, perhaps?

So if I had a GT4, and managed to get hold of the interior (dash, doorcards and centre console all the way back to the armrest), could I in theory replace one with the other? I know the wiring will need a bit of altering on the centre console due to where the hazard switch is located on the facelift, but aside from that is there any other problems? Brackets, physical size, control units etc? Ooh, doesn't the DE not have the 12v socket that the Revup and HR have in the pax footwell near their right knee?

Not wrong, it's okay but for my money there's better stuff out there for that money. Much better than Magnatec though!

As a top-up, it'll do. I wouldn't use it for an oil change though, there's much better stuff out there.

You can only measure my oil when it's hot and the engine is running Trust me, it's not as good as it sounds. In fact, sometimes it's a right faff and I long to have a dipstick like the Zed's again.

'Tis a good point. Do you want to win at track days, or do you want to have immense amounts of fun? Genuine question, no right or wrong answer. I used to be all about the speed, but now I'd rather just play and try and work with what I have than worry about overtaking everyone.

Why, out of curiosity? The Ring is very light on brakes so you won't go anywhere near boiling it, and as Sam says it'll last you well past that. 'Tis good stuff, I've used it on previous cars. The Endless stuff is my personal fave, but don't go looking up the price of that...
