  1. 16 days to go Ordered my Sanef toll thing last night, very painless experience and should be here tomorrow, cost me about £35 to start with which includes a £20 refundable deposit on the tag itself. Also remembered to renew my EHIC which takes 10 days to arrive: I really hope that's not working days else I've cut it significantly fine! I've also been running my HDH3 repeatedly, trying to extend the battery life as much as possible. Right now I'm getting about 2 hours in 1080/30 format which is fine, that's without Wifi on though. Can't see that being a major issue as I'll be running from a 12v source most of the time, and will only go battery for the external stuff. The car is also booked in for a geo to my specs on the 28th, which is the day before I leave: I'm getting very good at leaving things until the last minute here!
  2. Lewis' comments regarding not being able to drive any slower should be a wake up call to the sport. That's simply not good PR to have, and the whole world heard that too.
  3. Granted, they may need to alter the structure of them a bit still. I miss refuelling too.
  4. Are they trying to kill the brand dead? I'm sure it'll be okay if not amazing, but there is such a thing as too much. Saturate the market and people stop caring. One decent Marvel film a year is enough IMHO.
  5. Nothing wrong with having tyres that fall apart in principle, but just let the teams have as many as they want. That way, they can either rag the cars to the limit and try and make up the time lost in the extra pit stops, or they can drive a bit more carefully and try to preserve the tyres and do less stops. It's because they have a set amount that also need to be used during practice and qualy that is causing these issues really.
  6. Urus first, it's been confirmed for production this week.
  7. No, you were giving it too much throttle and going into boost mid-corner. It's why I don't like driving turbo cars, you may get massive shove but you lose the wonder that is a linear throttle progression.
  8. Dan's Helpful Tip Of The Day: Just don't drive like a knob in the wet in any vehicle, and you'll be fine. Cars are not inherently dangerous and, contrary to popular belief, will not try to kill you if you dare touch the throttle when cornering.
  9. Because the seals get hot and loose and floppy and let fluid past them. I had this happen to mine, and only changed the slave. Didn't fix it so had to do the master as well, and the cost of the job isn't in the parts it's in the labour. If you possibly can, do both slave and master at the same time, it's one less thing to worry about and it's only about £100 more. Might not even be that, I can't remember now, but I do know that nearly a days worth of labour to bleed the clutch system properly isn't cheap...
  10. I'd have got out the car and sat on her bonnet. Stupid ****.
  11. Nah, not really. Most people have gone for 3x exclusive hardcore two seaters, which means that either two aren't going to get used because they'll have a favourite or they'll be getting lifts everywhere because they've got three cars that can't even handle the run to Tesco and back
  12. It's a shame, but it's also why I only ever put el cheapo black plastic caps on my cars. No point having decent ones, and even the locking ones will get nicked or worse the valve damaged whilst they're trying to be nicked.
  13. Only the PCCB, which is the ceramic brakes. £5K option IIRC, but the discs are a good few grand each to replace should you need to, and don't believe the whole 'lasts a lifetime' crap either, they're very easy to damage in both normal use and when changing wheels. Unless you have very deep pockets for servicing, then I personally wouldn't bother as you'd be better off putting the money towards the S. When I said torque on the PDK 'box, I didn't mean you get any more than on a manual car, it's just that the ECU will open the engine up a smidge to apply a bit more torque than you would normally get during a gear change. My poor explaining, sorry.
  14. Just looking at the 981 S sat outside my office at the moment (courtesy car for my brother while his Cayman R is in for a service), you can ignore that bit about Sport Chrono being a must have on PDK cars. I forgot that all 9x1s now come with a Sport button anyway, and whilst that mode isn't quite as racetrack awesome as the Sport Plus mode, it's certainly enough and I wouldn't be speccing SC as a must-have any more. [geek hat on] The PDK modes between normal, Sport and Sport Plus vary far more than I first thought. I was looking through the tech document on the 'box for the 9x7 cars the other day, and apparently the amount of additional torque applied to the drive shaft between gear changes varies depending on which mode you're in. I believe that in normal maximum torque is applied and Sport Plus no extra torque applied with Sport sitting in the middle, which is why the Sport Plus changes feel so much more abrupt and mental than the other two. The shift speed is also increased although we are talking milliseconds here, but it's the torque application that makes the real difference.
  15. Hell yeah! If she's not attached to it, I'd very tempted to chuck that up for sale for a few grand.
  16. Very good shout, I forgot that they have a wedge of cash now. That would be a great place to go and play.
  17. Not too bad, but I'd probably stay away from ZED in the title too for when you take it with you. Mine's R20 DNM which I got when I had my VXR220 no.20, so it worked perfectly for that car but it doesn't look (that) ridiculous on anything else. Might be worth thinking about? I've seen much worse though, your wife has good taste
  18. Rooney is too good to be playing in every other match. If Moyes won't guarantee him the football he craves, then he might as well go elsewhere. I would. Thing is, who can afford his wages? Chelsea & Man City in the PL, but that's it. Abroad you have RM or one of the Milan teams, or BM if Pep fancies him which is unlikely. I can't see him moving until his contract expires.
  19. You need four though. Get the MPSS.
  20. Which of course you don't put in your Zed...
  21. Don't be so silly. They're an incredible tyre and the second best I've ever used. Unfortunately, the best ever is the PSS. If you can get them cheap then go for it as they're ace, but if paying full whack then get the superior PSS.
  22. Hey, that's actually pretty good and I don't normally like race games on tablets, slidey fun!
  23. Top stuff, have used the third one, thanks!
  24. We have no idea of the circumstances of those rapes. If a 16 year old boy has sex with his 15 year old girlfriend, that's rape, but should he spend 10+ years in prison for it?
