  1. Best manager in lifetime, I've no doubt about that. Absolute legend, and deserves a send off in whatever way he chooses.
  2. I've yet to drive the 981 Cayman, but I've driven the same Boxster plenty in both guises and with manual and PDK 'box. For me, there's no right or wrong answer. They're both very wringable engines, so using all the revs isn't a chore. You'll have less opportunities to do that in the S unless you don't care about your licence, if that's a consideration at all. The S has a better spec as standard and the biggest one that cannot be (cheaply) fixed is the brakes: The red calipers signify the bigger and better brakes on the S. During normal road driving I found little to choose between them, but if you were seriously working them (Alpine switchbacks as well as the obvious trackwork) then you'd want the bigger ones. The optional PASM includes a 10mm drop which makes a massive difference visually, especially if you're going for anything other than the 20" wheels. FWIW I would also choose the 19" Boxster S wheels, best out of a bad bunch by far. The PASM is no longer seen as a must-have with the larger wheels either, even on the bigger wheels the ride is fine. That said, you may wish to wait a couple of months until the Sport Chassis option is on the configurator, as this will give you a firmer springs, dampers and ARBs with a 20mm drop, and it's only £688. I'd consider that a must-have if it were me, especially if you're not going for PASM. If you're having a PDK car, then Sport Chrono is an absolute must-have. No two ways about it, it transforms the PDK 'box and you will want this! Try the regular stereo before getting the Bose, it's more than adequate and you can put that money elsewhere. Everything is very much down to personal choice. Personally I would choose a well-specced non-S car over a poverty spec S, but neither would be a bad choice. Who is your local OPC? Give them a call and speak to them to sort your test drive out, don't rely on the configurator to send stuff over to them. I know my local one is running both a manual non-S and a PDK S Cayman as demo cars, so you could (and should) try both before committing.
  3. Exactly what I do with mine. Well, I let them valet the interior as I can't be arsed dragging the Dyson outside, but they know not to touch the exterior now.
  4. Ours weighs a smidge under 1500kg, UK spec blobeye STi PPP. 4WD gubbins weighs a fair bit, and the steel chassis isn't light either.
  5. Depending on which Impreza we're talking about, they're not necessarily light cars. Certainly anything bugeye and onwards weighs about 1500kg, it's only the early cars that were about 1200kg.
  6. I read the title as 'serious mood now' and thought I was in for a top quality rant I was watching the guys at Tesco car wash give a new SLK a going over today, it was painful to witness the amount of swirls they must've put into the paintwork
  7. Dave & Davina surely I said 'Ayrton' and 'Senna', works with both sexes if you pretend that you don't know that Ayrton is a blokes name.
  8. This is my favourite thread of the week so far. If you thought it was so slow after test driving it, then why did you buy it?
  9. Praise be, the video no longer plays! You sir, get my 'Most Awesome Person Of The Day' award. And lols at the stopped screen cap
  10. Even if it had been tracked, it should still be fine. A tracked car that's been well looked after will be a better car than a road one that's been abused.
  11. For the cost of a new filter (and I mean just the filter, not the whole kit) and the risk of overoiling and damaging the much more expensive MAF, I'd just change the filter for a new one and be done with it. £50 a year isn't going to break the bank, and it'll arguably give better filtration than one you've cleaned up yourself.
  12. What went bang? What actually happened? I very much doubt you'll get anything out of Nissan, but no harm in asking. Maybe they'll want the unit to look at to see where it failed?
  13. And best of all, other peoples' kids too when they get dumped on him in the spirit of "Oh, our kids are such good friends!"
  14. Ekona

    Pilot super sports

Give it a couple of hundred miles, should be fine by then.
  15. Brilliant, nothing like lying through your teeth to make a point, eh? Cretinous action, I hoe you get caught one day.
  16. Pics? Given that it is signed, and as it's a dead end then it would make sense to only put these on the entrance, then I'd pay the £35 and move on. If you think about it logically, and take it to the final conclusion which is in court, what is your reason for thinking that you shouldn't have to pay?
  17. Before you did the last bit, did you have to put your testicles back on?
  18. I don't mind a big day fiddling with cars as long as I'm prepared for it. Gone are the days where I'll just pop out for a few hours doing a couple of little bits, now it's all or nothing. Even washing the car doesn't take less than 4 hours as I'll always do a proper job. I tend to drive more than fiddle these days. Best way, I reckon.
  19. Mondeo estate + something cheap with 2 seats is the way to go I reckon. You'll never be driving quick with the kids in the car so might as well just get something solid that won't let you down, and then grab something sporty but cheap for when you fancy a hoon by yourself.
  20. SNELL2000, 2005 & 2010 are all currently approved, as is BS6658-A F/R. The current Blue Book warns that SNELL2000 and BS6658-A F/R may be withdrawn, after the 2014 season and the 2015 season respectively. Nicked from a post on PH as I can never remember the correct codes As long as it's one of those you'll be fine, even if TDOs suddenly start getting very strict. Bike helmets are designed for one impact then a slide, car helmets are designed for multiple impacts, plus theres the fire rating to be aware of (will be much lower/non existant in a bike helmet). I personally wouldn't risk it, you've only got one head after all.
  21. 1. My current 911 (no really, I can't think of a good reason to change it) 2. Elise S1 with Honda SC conversion (track fun) 3. 535d estate (for barging) Covers all bases.
