  1. I wonder if there could be something faulty on the mechanical side: It seems odd that it's fine at any speed on smooth surfaces, but twitchy on bad ones. That's normally the sign of suspension that's far too hard (dampers usually IIRC), or worn suspension. Maybe a leaky damper, or a broken droplink? Easy ones to check by eye at any rate. I've not driven a 370Z much so I don't know if they're normally a bit flighty on bad roads, I know the 350Z was too soft if anything.

    Write off?

The one positive it that it happened here and not on the Ring. That would've been much worse on the wallet. As long as you're okay, that's the main thing, it's a cliche but it's still very true. Might be worth buying it back and repairing it yourself if the money works out right.
  3. Day 1 Remember when you were a kid at Christmas, and you didn't sleep at all the night before because you were too excited? Yup, that was me last night. Barely got a few hours, so hopefully I'll sleep really well tonight before my early start tomorrow. Last minute emergency when the jeans I wanted to wear today didn't dry properly overnight, so Jo is going to run them up to work for me before I go!
  4. I checked both, the currency at the airport is fractionally better using the staff rates, but only just. It's more convenient for me too, plus you can buy any amount and not the minimum £400 the PO want if you buy online,
  5. I work at Stansted Going in for the morning, then off to Folkestone. Currently downloading the entire Snoop Dogg back catalogue to take with me
  6. 1 Day To Go ARGH WHERE DID THE TIME GO???!!! Frickin' hell, I leave tomorrow! Still need to get my spending money at the airport in the morning, and pack toiletries. Aside from that, I think I'm ready. I think. I'm sure I've forgotten something, but nothing critical. I packed gaffer tape, so should be able to fix anything! The alignment was done today and the car feels massively better, no more understeer. The cause was the fronts being knocked to toe in instead of toe out, so I'm glad it wasn't just me going mad. £90 for a full geo to my spec, bargain. The car is now filthy, but sod it, it's meant to be used. Hopefully I'll be able to do daily video & pic updates as I'm taking my laptop with me, but that's definitely wifi dependant. The adventure starts here folks!
  7. Just buy wheels that fit and don't need spacers /not_very_helpful_but_true
  8. DB9 is a much better looking car than the V8V, it carries the styling much better I think. Maybe it's just because it came first, I'm not sure.
  9. Zed handles better than the V8V. I know which I'd rather have on the drive, but there you go. That should keep you happy enough in your choice.
  10. So who was she, and did you not know she had a boyfriend? Sorry mate, not funny. I'd be tempted to just get it done outside of insurance as well, unless you think that losing some NCB (if protected) will be cheaper long term.
  11. Another +1 for accidental click here too.
  12. Mirrors, mirrors, mirrors. Check and triple check, and as long as you drive it like a fast country road you'll be fine. Also, don't eat the food there, it's a bit crap!
  13. Should be fine, the Ring isn't traditionally very hard on brakes, as with evrrything it's just a case of being a bit sympathetic if needs be.
  14. That's the thing, you can't get insurance for a tourist day, only a track day. Luke, how hot was it when you had the brake fade? When my brakes went when I was there a few years back it was absolutely sweltering, and that was with Brembos and a full PF setup.
  15. Kinda my point, you're not insured on it which is why I won't do tourist days. Fair play if you're happy to risk it though, I'm just not that brave.
  16. Sounds like fun, looking forward to the videos Were you not worried about the insurance side of things?
  17. Be careful which ones you buy, EU use different frequencies to the UK and it's very naughty to be using the wrong frequencies out there. I don't have the details to hand, but I'm sure a quick Google will bring them up.
  18. Whichever is cheaper, I'd say there's nothing in it. If it were my money though, K&N.

    P3 Service?

5 years old, I'd definitely do the plugs.
  20. You ain't kidding, these next 1.5 days of work are going to drag like buggery.
  21. 2 Days To Go Clean car is clean! Check out the metallic flake baby! Since it's going to bucket down tomorrow when I take her to get the geo done, that's also the cleanest she'll be for the next fortnight Have also packed most of what I need to take barring clothes, so I think I'm set.
  22. Easy one. RE050A have less grip than MPSS. You're driving like you've still got MPSS on, which you haven't, so when you're putting the power down there's less grip available and you're spinning the rears up or otherwise making them slip/slide. Either that, or a sensor has been damaged when changing the tyres.
