  1. Somewhere without any snow I hope! Should be down the coast past Barcelona, but at this stage anything could happen! Got a couple of vids from yesterday ready to go up in a min, I'll hopefully get the others from today up tonight too.
  2. Day 3 I thought yesterday was crap. How wrong I was. Woke up, still raining, grab some breakfast and head out. Today should have seen me crossing the Pyrenees into Spain, however someone had other ideas for me. Now, can anyone tell me what happens when it's raining, and you go up a mountain, and the temperature drops to sub zero? Any one? Yes, it snows. Of course it f*cking does, and why I couldn't figure that out for myself I've no idea. If it wasn't for some very kind French man who spoke perfect English and happened to be stopped in his own car at the very point of no return, I'd have likely got myself stuck in the 5 inches of snow that had settled right at the very peak. I was literally 95% of the way across the mountain when I had to turn back, 2 hours wasted. I thought that was the end of the bad luck. It wasn't. My route took me on a detour to Andorra, seeing as how it was so close to my hotel (30 mins) and I'd never been there. Well, now I've been there twice, and I can safely say it's a f*cking sh*thole. Drove all the way through, stunning sunshine on the Spanish side to snow again on the French side, went through the toll tunnel and started working my way down the mountain to discover the other toll tunnel was shut, and the only route round was back over the mountain in more snow. Sod that. So I turned around, and wasted another 1.5 hours travelling back through sh*tty Andorra to finally get to my hotel. Which is far too posh and doesn't have anything palatable on the menu. Arse. On the upside, I spent a good 6 hours at least on some of the best mountain roads I've ever driven in my life, in glorious sunshine. I can't wait until you guys see the videos, these roads were incredible and there were loads of them!
  3. Probably as much of a boss as Will felt when he was winding everyone up and sticking his neck out at every opportunity, I guess.
  4. ...which made f*ck all difference as everything still went tits up on the first day!
  5. Couldn't be any worse, that's for sure! Got the wifi working now, will see if I can get the vids up, or at least a couple of them.
  6. Oh man, what a day! No wifi here sadly so I can't upload my video diaries, but suffice to say I've had better days. Heavy rain almost all the way down, which limits your speed obviously so that didn't help. Stupid c*nting satnavs taking me through the centre of frickin' Paris, delaying me by a good 90 mins, then putting me through the centre of Toulouse as well...! Not impressed. Hotel check in was closed, but Jo rang then and they left the key out for me so at least I have a bed tonight. No restaurant here, but I found the Golden Arches so all is good and my belly is full Hit Calais at 8am, got to hotel at 8:30pm and the only time I stopped was for the single fuel stop. Yup, that's 12.5 hours of solid driving. I'm fooked. I'll sleep well tonight, then attack the fun roads in the morning!
  7. I needed something to help me sleep, and it worked a treat! Missed the whole of the second half, although 'missed' is a relative term by all accounts... Day 2 It's not even 5am, and I'm up and getting ready. My crossing is at 6:50 assuming no delays, and that 35 mins in the tunnel should give me plenty of time to set the GoPro up for action. Weather looks shite, but I have Snoop Dogg's back catalogue to keep me occupied on the long trip down to Pau.
  8. Not me guv, I was M11/M25/M20. Common as muck these 911s, I tell ya!
  9. Good way to start the holiday I reckon...
  10. You'll love them, just as much feel but with a billionty times more grip and far longer lasting.
  11. 452 < VUS < RE050A < MPS2 < MPSS
  12. I'm going to be away when mine comes

    That's the spirit, good man!

Don't worry, it's not like there's a whole thread on a public forum of the accident, along with photographic evidence. I'm sure the insurer will never find out.
  15. Perhaps, and really they should've done if for no other reason than to try and keep his business, but as said it may have gone straight to email and been lost in junk somewhere.

That's what you pay your insurance for, surely the hit cannot be worth the thousands of pounds you're talking about to repair the car yourself?
  17. Depressing start Too much rain! Spot of lunch soon, then I'll head down to Folkestone for the hotel I think.
  18. In your case, if they did auto renew then they actually did you a favour as you had no idea exactly when your insurance expired: Imagine if you'd been caught by the police and how crap you'd feel then. Auto renew policies are ideal for the 90% of the population that cannot manage their paperwork properly. Not a dig, no-one's perfect and it's easily done in this busy world we live in, but I wouldn't be so quick to judge them especially if that's what you signed up for.
  19. 370 comes with RE050A, which are very good indeed. Not quite as awesomesauce as the MPSS, but I certainly wouldn't change them unless the situation arose where all four corners were worn equally and you had to do the whole lot anyway.
  20. I wonder if there could be something faulty on the mechanical side: It seems odd that it's fine at any speed on smooth surfaces, but twitchy on bad ones. That's normally the sign of suspension that's far too hard (dampers usually IIRC), or worn suspension. Maybe a leaky damper, or a broken droplink? Easy ones to check by eye at any rate. I've not driven a 370Z much so I don't know if they're normally a bit flighty on bad roads, I know the 350Z was too soft if anything.

The one positive it that it happened here and not on the Ring. That would've been much worse on the wallet. As long as you're okay, that's the main thing, it's a cliche but it's still very true. Might be worth buying it back and repairing it yourself if the money works out right.
  22. Day 1 Remember when you were a kid at Christmas, and you didn't sleep at all the night before because you were too excited? Yup, that was me last night. Barely got a few hours, so hopefully I'll sleep really well tonight before my early start tomorrow. Last minute emergency when the jeans I wanted to wear today didn't dry properly overnight, so Jo is going to run them up to work for me before I go!
  23. I checked both, the currency at the airport is fractionally better using the staff rates, but only just. It's more convenient for me too, plus you can buy any amount and not the minimum £400 the PO want if you buy online,
