Sorry, but that's hideous. Great job in terms of quality, and I'm sure it'll be a hoot to drive, but aesthetically it's killed the styling.
  2. You'll never repair machine damage without using another machine, unfortunately.
  3. Definitely not sunny here right now
  4. I like it, and I hate CoD. Definitely seems far enough away that you wouldn't even know it's made by the same people, and the Titans definitely give it a change of pace. 6v6 works well, maps are the perfect size, guns well balanced too. I'd never buy it though, as there's nothing else but MP and that's not for me. For a free 20 min blast over a weekend, it's been a hoot.
  5. I don't get this. You bought the worse car (from a driving perspective) because it was less common. I'll never understand that. Ever. Buy a car because you like how it drives, how it looks, how it makes you feel, but don't buy one simply because no-one else does.
  6. Less than 10 miles a day means the Zed is not the car for you. Lots of short trips like that isn't going to do a big engine any good, it'll never get the chance to get properly warm. By all means go for it, but be aware that you could be opening a can of worms IMHO.
  7. Well no wonder you didn't like it! Try a proper one, with a decent engine in: You'll be surprised.
  8. Which E92? A 320d I can understand you not feeling the love for, but a 335i should be more than entertaining.

They do get a little bit more reliable, but not a huge amount. Biggest change IIRC was the fitting of a much larger starter motor instead, which made cranking the engine easier and less likely to cause issues. There were other smaller changers to improve cold start and the notorious flooding probs, but nothing that would stop me buying a car of any vintage. The later ones are so cheap due to the higher road tax. Crazy how another £200 a year will put people off buying a 20mpg car!
  10. Scratch that, it's now open to everyone anyway. Just download via the game demo section of the store.
  11. Anybody want a spare Xbone code for Titanfall, give us a shout.
  12. There are, of course, many legitimate uses for torrents. Just because a technology has become known for being used for nefarious means, does not mean that we all use that technology for that purpose. Not all black BMWs with tinted windows are operated by drug dealers, y'know.

Uneconomical? Yeah, not great on mpg. Only 3mpg worse that a Zed, though. Burns oil? It's by design, it keeps the rotor tips oiled from the sump oil. Fit a second bottle full of oil to pump in and you'll never burn the sump oil again, Always go bang? Nope. They do need a rebuild from time to time, but again that's by design. In return, you get a beautifully smooth engine that never lugs, revs to high heaven and sounds very unique, whilst contributing a low CofG allowing the handling to be sublime.

Thank god they haven't, would ruin the whole ethos of the car!

@Stu: Zero torque, but loads of power so you never notice it. Keep it above 4k rpm and it's a hoot! Rear seats are proper usable too, much better than you'd expect and I was perfectly comfortable in them. Interior is sh*t in terms of quality of the plastics but it's a wonderful design so you never really notice. @Lexx: Oh my, that is lovely

I think I want the R3, just for the Recaros

Really?! Mate, I never knew that! So if I ask if the extra bottle mod for adding oil to the tips for lubrication instead of using the sump is a must-do mod, would you agree? Also, what's the 'best' iPod connection device to use?

Mate bought one today. 231ps version, 2005, sub-£3K. Threw me the keys and let me go play. Absolutely superb car! Wonderful chassis that allows you to play happily, supple suspension that's clearly tuned for comfort but that's okay as it's just stiff enough to be fun, and that engine... Comically smooth, no lugging at low revs in high gears, and it sounds like a jet fighter when you get on full chat. Not horrendously fast, but more than quick enough for the roads. Like the Zed, really. Seats are super-comfy whilst offering enough support, rear seats are easy usable for grown-ups, and the boot is much bigger than you think. And those suicide doors, never get any less cool. They more than make up for 20mpg and a thirst for oil. I think I want one. Scratch that, I know I do.
  19. Stock Zed is fine, it's down to how the driver uses it. I had no trouble (well, a little and I did have to push) keeping up with a mate driving a VXR220 with 260bhp on 888s at the Ring on a proper trackday with a ragtop Revup on PS2s with only chassis stiffening mods. Drive it well and it will reward you handsomely.
  20. Nah, I was agreeing with you, no-one bought the Zafira!
