    350z makeover

Silly hat rule. I doubt that any wheel you'd care to fit to that will save the front bumper from looking like a cheap snow plough.

    350z makeover

    Oh my.
  3. As always, the Team can (and do) choose to implement what they like. Some I agree with, some I don't.
  4. Go start your own forum and moderate that, then. You can have all the sub-forums you want.
  5. I'm a forum user. This is a public forum. That's what gives me the right to comment, unless the Team say otherwise. I didn't say all people are stupid. My comments referred to stupid people. All people != stupid.
  6. Oh the ironing is delicious More sub-forums, more places for stupid people to mis-post threads. More work for mods, just to cater for stupidity. That's neither fair nor workable.
  7.
  8. ECU will adapt to any mod you make power-wise, so pointless unless you want the noise or benefits of less weight.
  9. Definitely mate, sorry I missed you yesterday. They're just the PFL 15"s, so 6J front and 6.5J rear.
  10. Still doesn't help with people mis-labelling things. Until the mass can be trusted to use the forums available to them properly, you're only making life more awkward by giving them choice. In theory I have no issue with the idea, and in a perfect world it would help massively. The trouble is, people are stupid.
  11. Soooooon... Basically, once I've done Spa in four weeks then I'm definitely coming out with you guys

    Next car?

So 8 pages and you end up buying the first car you mentioned Looks good mate, looking forward to seeing how you get on with it
  13. Moar pics time! So I decided to give her a first clean today, but I must stress that it was only a wash and a quick coat of DJBV rather than anything more hardcore (which the paint desperately needs), but I think it came up pretty good. Also removed all the stickers that were on it, except for the tow ones which are always useful when tracking abroad. Interior shots now too, showing Sparco Sprint seat, Sparco 3" harness, OMP Trecento wheel, carbon fibre centre console plate and custom solid brass shift knob: The eagle-eyed may spot that she now has new wheels too. They're simply stock wheels sprayed gold that I've had kicking around for about 4 years now. They were originally designed to go on my aborted race car project, which was a black car so I was aiming for JPS colour scheme before Lotus brought it back for the F1, but they still suit the blue one so I'm copying the classic Scooby look now. All shod in the finest 888 rubber, with nice fat sidewalls to allow me to feel what's going on and react accordingly. Also been busy in the engine bay too: The header you see here is the third one I've had on the car since I bought it. First was a Che manifold which copies the stock one but removes the precat chambers, and I ran that with a decat pipe which sounded pretty damn horny for a four-pot. However, I managed to pick up an absolute bargain PPE 4-1 header + high flow cat which improves gas flow markedly, and the whole rev range is so much smoother now, so that's currently bolted to the Cobra exhaust and that's what you're looking at in the following pics. And finally, an alternate take on the JDM 'Screaming Eagle' badge that the original owner put on, and that I quite like:

    Next car?

    Is it an MPS?
  15. Toyo (for example) state that the maximum width for a 175 tyre is 6j, so it's not recommended to fit those tyres to that wheel. Flog old to buy new.
  16. I get at least four phone numbers a week left on my windscreen Not sure why the traffic warden lady doesn't just get the hint, I never ring her back.
  17. It's at least 186mph, but danger to the manifold yo.
  18. I wish I was as cool as the OP.
  19. A whole new thing.
  20. Great stuff, thanks folks
  21. Much. 111Rs aren't that quick in a straight line, but they'll monster you in bends. They also feel massively more special than a Zed (massively more rattly too!), but that's another story. Keep them in lift and they're more than quick enough, but you have to be committed. If you were both trying to stay safe on the roads, then the mid-range shove of the Zed can easily make it seem a quicker car. It's not at all, but I can imagine it would look like that.
  22. Yeah, thrilling topic for a Saturday, I know. Apologies for that. So I'm coming to the end of my fixed term dual fuel with EDF. Now I like EDF as a company: They've been good to me, and allow me to pay monthly using my own reads, something I massively prefer as it stops me overpaying (so they get more money than they should) or underpaying (so I have to find a wedge of cash from somewhere). I've been looking around to lock myself back into a fixed deal again and there's a few options, however we want to move house later this year. It's going to be in the same area, so no issues with the supplier not being able to supply us with the energy we need. My question is thus: If I move property, do I break the contract for energy supply and have to pay any forfeit clause, or can I just keep the same contract running on a new house? I've no real issues either way, as I can afford to be on the variable rate for a 3/4 of a year and EDF's isn't that bad either, but it would be nice to save a bit extra by tying myself in but only if I can still move house. Cost of moving house > cost of staying on variable rate! Anyone done this, or have a definitive answer? And just to liven the thread up, here's Batman riding a robotic unicorn whilst surrounded by dolphins and a rainbow:
  23. What Lotus? What Ferrari? It's like saying that I managed to keep up with a Nissan whilst driving my Ford: Could be Micra vs GT, or GT-R vs Fiesta
  24. That's so cute!

    Rev matching

Double declutching isn't something you need to do with modern gearboxes with synchromesh. Certainly it's not a technique I ever use, or have ever used for that matter. I guess I could train myself pretty quickly to do it, but a decent HaT (is there an acceptable shortened version of that?! I got pilloried on PH for saying heel/toe!) does all you'll ever need it to.
