  1. If you believe that, then I have to say you're a bit naive mate. Accident will be defined as anything which causes damage to the vehicle, another vehicle, or any other object or person as an educated guess. That definitely included dings and scrapes, but not bumper chips (although I assume that was a facetious addition). You should've informed them in Feb, so this may well now bit you in the arse as they'll chase you for increased premium. Sometimes, it's ALWAYS worth telling your insurers, and sucking it up. We all make mistakes sometimes, no shame in that.
  2. That wouldn't be admitting any kind of liability. Courts wouldn't view that as it either, unless there was a letter saying that they accepted full liability for it, which I'm guessing there wasn't. The bus company will say it's an apology for holding the traffic up due to a malfunction with the bus, and that DT should still not have proceeded as there was not enough room.
  3. They'll be fine with it. Unless you've got the money to cough up to the letter, then you need to speak to them. At the end of the day though you were in the wrong, as the bus was stationary and you were moving so this will be an at-fault claim. What do you think will be less, a higher premium next year or the hundreds of pounds the bus company want? Your call.
  4. Doesn't matter really, they might not be too surprised as I suspect they get this often.
  5. Maybe my last sentence was a bit too subtle, it was a bit of a dig at both sides. Incidentally, I have no black friends at all. Never have done. No particular reason, my social circle just doesn't seem to be anything other than exclusively white. That said, on the interweb I know plenty of coloured folks, some of whom I've met in real life and have got on well with, so I don't think I'm racist in that regard. Again, it's more what's in your heart than what you say/do when it comes to hate crimes. For example, I hate all religion equally so have zero problem slagging that off, however I do still respect peoples right to believe in what they want. Also, Lewis is my favourite driver so I can't be racist!
  6. You don't need a solicitor, just call your insurance company and explain. That's what they're there for, to fight your corner. Don't panic, just leave it up to them.
  7. So along the same lines, do people feel as strongly about casual homophobia then? Use of the word 'gay' to describe something rubbish or effeminate is a as common as ever: Certainly it's still used infrequently on here.
  8. It doesn't need locking, people just need to refrain with name calling. Much like Chubbster, I too hope that one day people will learn to accept each other without labels, be that a racial insult or indiscriminate classifying.
  9. Same as you would for any other trackday really, if you've already done sone then you know the craic by now. Be careful at the end of Kemmel, I've had moments there in both the MR2 and the Impreza. You'll probably find (judging by your companions) you'll be one of the slowest things there, which means that you'll want to stay right once you're out of Eau Rouge to avoid faster cars punting into the back of you. You won't really gain or lose anything by doing so, and you'll help keep the track safer for everyone else. Buy fuel on site, it's cheaper there than outside the circuit bizarrely.
  10. Casual racism isn't a term I'm particularly comfortable using, tbh. I don't think it does either side any favours, although I can see how the term came about. You're either racist, or you're not: It's black or white, if you'll excuse the pun. It's perfectly possible to use words like nigger, slope, chinky etc without harbouring a racist thought in your head. Equally you could never use those words but be the most horrible human being who detests all people of a certain colour.
  11. I don't like Clarkson either, and haven't watched TG for about ten years. Liking a person or not is irrelevant to the debate in hand, unless you happen to be such a TG fan that you worship at the feet of St Clarkson.
  12. I don't think there's a device or browser available that doesn't have a spell-check function, y'know. Sounds to me like either it's in your mind, or you're done the clutch, or you've done the engine. Fingers crossed it's the first one.
  13. Weather looks lovely
  14. Meh, it's only a little buzz. Just make sure you tap it with the back of your hand not your palm, and you'll be fine
  15. Pull the cables and do it live, what's the worst that can happen?
  16. Hopefully he'll grow out of it. If not, he's going to have a really rough school life. Silly mum for encouraging it really, what did she expect?
  17. Don't worry, I'm crap and I still play
  18. Did you get it in writing? Did you cancel in writing? Did you get written acknowledgement of the phone call?
  19. Sounds ace, I've not been back to the online stuff for a while because I was getting so irritated with being smashed off the road all the time (well, that and Titanfall). 9-10pm most evenings I'm free. Any earlier and the missus has the TV, any later and I'm off to bed!
  20. I'm in, depending on dates & times. When were you thinking of, or had we not got that far?
  21. Under the current law, yes. Although the taste police may well have words if they ever catch you.
  22. Think you're mixing up Bethesda (developers) with The Elder Scrolls (the name of the series) matey. Bethesda have two teams right now, working independantly. The smart money has to be on next-gen Fallout for one of them, and the other on TES IV. TESO was developed by Zenimax, which is why it's not a patch on the previous games.
  23. Sounds like something isn't sitting properly to me. Suspension too high one side compared with the other, and a clanking noise over bumps would seem like dead giveaways. Personally I'd be tempted to start again: Remove everything on the rear, and re-install.
  24. And in the meantime, whilst you go to the back of the queue as £25 is peanuts, you've got a nice missed payment marker sitting on there because you haven't paid your bill. Pay your bill, and then you're in a much stronger position to get it removed.
  25. For the sake of £25, I'd just pay it and argue later. Normally I wouldn't advise that, but if you're worried about your credit score for a mortgage, then £25 is small fry. Bigger picture and all that.
