  1. Paddle shift is awesome.
  2. The new ZF autos are very, very good. Nearly 1st gen dual clutch good. If you've never tried a dual clutcher, you'd be really happy with it. Once you have though, you can almost count the seconds between gear changes.
  3. MANLY
  4. Hi Stuart, many thanks for getting back to us with the answers. Was going to go to the BP series this weekend, but other plans came up unfortunately. Personally I wouldn't be so keen on a sessions day on the Indy layout, but at least we now know what kind of things you can offer us so maybe look at something in the future when we can all agree what we want
  5. Well yes, there are far more obvious improvements to be made, but they're much more expensive (albeit more obvious in the end result). We're talking specifically about weight here though. Best improvement would be driver training, followed by tyres, brakes, suspension, then finally power in that order.
  6. Proxies Which Proxes? T1-R, T1 Sport, R1R or 4? http://www.toyo.co.uk/tire/category/sports-car
  7. That's going to make for some interesting handling...! What Toyos on the front? T1-R?
  8. Exactly what I said. At Spa in March, I deliberately left the spare in on the MR2 (it sits in the frunk) as I wanted more weight over the nose to get the car to turn in as conditions weren't great. It helped massively, and made the car far more nimble than if I'd removed it to save a couple of kilos. Utilising the weight you have is as important as losing it. For example, relocating the battery to the boot would be a great idea as something easy to do.
  9. One bloody photo, that's all Dave took, and now it's a permanent feature

You running the blade ones? Or another kind?

Personally I would go with Yellowstuff over Redstuff too. Be interesting to see how you get on with the EBC discs as well, don't know anyone who's run that particular style yet. I'm guessing they were quite cheap?

    Driving

Nope, no driving for me ever

That's a good point, I hadn't noticed that the OP had omitted pads from the list. Always do pads if you're doing discs.

Yes, that's a good price from NMD.
  15. Not surprised, it's much easier to drive FWD quickly because it'll understeer first.
  16. That's FWD Save a bit and buy an STi, rather than a WRX and then chuck money at it. The STi is a much better base to start with.
  17. I reckon you lot are just too old
  18. Brands? If that's the GP circuit then I'm in!
  19. Nope, still don't get it. I sit approx 9ft from a 55" screen, and I could easy go bigger. 65" would be great, but 70" even better. No point having a HD TV if you're sitting too far from it to not notice the difference!
  20. For speed, add lightness. You'll improve everything by removing weight: Acceleration, braking, grip, handling, the lot. It's equally as important to consider where you're removing weight from: Just removing the spare is not a great idea, as you'll then push the balance forward leading to the rear wanting to spin round more easily. Looking at your car, you have the OEM wheels which are very heavy, so upgrading to a set of Rays will make a huge difference as it's unsprung weight. The seats are heavy too with all those motors and heating and padding, so loads to be lost there as well. They're also nice and central, thinking back to the balance thing again. If you've never been to the Ring before, leave your car exactly as it is. That's really not the place to be experimenting, especially with no insurance in place.
  21. No such thing as a TV too big. Size should only ever be limited by budget.
  22. They're good, but you'd need to bin the suspension straight away as well as fit the sohn adaptor before tracking it. MR2 mk2s are not great handling cars, even a mk1 would be a better choice. 328 is a great option, but upgrades not as cheap as with lesser marques.
