  1. One bloody photo, that's all Dave took, and now it's a permanent feature

You running the blade ones? Or another kind?

Personally I would go with Yellowstuff over Redstuff too. Be interesting to see how you get on with the EBC discs as well, don't know anyone who's run that particular style yet. I'm guessing they were quite cheap?

    Driving

Nope, no driving for me ever

That's a good point, I hadn't noticed that the OP had omitted pads from the list. Always do pads if you're doing discs.

Yes, that's a good price from NMD.
  7. Not surprised, it's much easier to drive FWD quickly because it'll understeer first.
  8. That's FWD Save a bit and buy an STi, rather than a WRX and then chuck money at it. The STi is a much better base to start with.
  9. I reckon you lot are just too old
  10. Nope, still don't get it. I sit approx 9ft from a 55" screen, and I could easy go bigger. 65" would be great, but 70" even better. No point having a HD TV if you're sitting too far from it to not notice the difference!
  11. For speed, add lightness. You'll improve everything by removing weight: Acceleration, braking, grip, handling, the lot. It's equally as important to consider where you're removing weight from: Just removing the spare is not a great idea, as you'll then push the balance forward leading to the rear wanting to spin round more easily. Looking at your car, you have the OEM wheels which are very heavy, so upgrading to a set of Rays will make a huge difference as it's unsprung weight. The seats are heavy too with all those motors and heating and padding, so loads to be lost there as well. They're also nice and central, thinking back to the balance thing again. If you've never been to the Ring before, leave your car exactly as it is. That's really not the place to be experimenting, especially with no insurance in place.
  12. No such thing as a TV too big. Size should only ever be limited by budget.
  13. They're good, but you'd need to bin the suspension straight away as well as fit the sohn adaptor before tracking it. MR2 mk2s are not great handling cars, even a mk1 would be a better choice. 328 is a great option, but upgrades not as cheap as with lesser marques.
  14. I still suspect it's going to be gash. There's a reason why pretty much nothing can touch Forza or GT games for playability, even if there's other stuff that looks better: Hiring artists is easy, hiring programmers who can deal with physics is not. I do hope I'm proved wrong, I really do.
  15. I have no issue with sessions, as long as they're tied to ability.
  16. Aside from the obvious choices, take a look at a mk3 MR2. I'm running one as my current track car, and it's a proper little weapon. Softtop removed and hardtop installed so coupe-like rigidity, fully stripped I reckon it weighs around 850kg, few breathing mods will see you at 150bhp easy so 175bhp/ton which is more than enough to have fun, mid-engined so perfectly balanced, cheap as chips to pick pieces up for and Jap reliability underneath.
  17. I record all my stuff in 1080/30, since YT always converts to that anyway it seems pointless to record in anything higher just to watch on my on PC. The fun for me is sharing the video with friends, not watching back what I've already seen at home on my own. Means I can get 3 hours onto a 32GB SD card, which is pretty much an entire day on track.
  18. My latest vid from Spa, on a HDH3: Make of that what you will. For me, I would say the ability to change the position of the camera at will makes it worthwhile, especially if you're going to experiment with video editing afterwards.
  19. Took me a year before I got the hang of driving rear engined, but it's worth it when you get it right. That said, I suspect my car feels massively different to yours, and I know that the 4WD cars can feel very heavy on the steering at times. Been to Center Gravity to get the geo setup? Might be well worth your time.
  20. The group of friends I do trackdays with do that. Obviously you need a massive amount of trust, and knowledge that the other person picks up the tab if they bin it, but it works really well and gives a different flavour to the day.
  21. If I'm honest, the reason I've not put my name down is because I'm not a huge fan of session days, and to have a session full of cars with massively mixed experience kind of takes the point away from doing sessions in the first place. If I read it wrong and actually it's an exclusive sessioned event then I apologise and I'm in, but if it's just an exclusive session at an event with other cars then I'm not convinced there's any point. We'd be better off just picking an open pit day and all signing up to that (like, say, Bedford on Aug 23rd).
