  1. Yeah, the snare is the same but the toms differ. Doesn't bother me as a practice kit, but ultimately would it hold someone back? Maybe. Even then mesh heads are so different in feel to an acoustic kit though, so I'm not convinced.
  2. I use a Roland HD-1, which is surprisingly decent for the little it costs. It's lacking on actual feel for the kick pedal, but otherwise I'm quite happy with it. It's now been updated with a more intelligent control box so worth a try before jumping into the higher end. As always though, try before you buy, if she's that talented then you may have to cough up sadly.
  3. Some of my favourite songs ever are: Before I Forget - Slipknot Biology - Girls Aloud Lose Yourself - Eminem Drain You - Nirvana Sultans Of Swing - Dire Straits Gangstas Paradise - Coolio Silence - Delirium My tastes are pretty varied.
  4. I'd tolerate her for four or five minutes ! Are you doing it twice then Hugh?
  5. We're drunk and plating SingStar, so probably just as bad as X-Factor but without having to tolerate the Cheryl Fenendaezezescedk-Versacekininikiki woman
  6. I'm not sure which is more full of egos that need massaging
  7. Even you couldn't get through that much!
  8. Put a guitar in it and I'm happy enough.
  9. It's a fair comment, and an interesting POV. Unfortunately my family will never ever do money for gifts, they struggle if I dare ask for gift vouchers, so whilst I quite like the idea I don't think its a goer sadly. For me, just spending time with (some of!) my family is enough of a present
  10. And mix with the great unwashed? Urgh, no thanks!
  11. That card thing is a brilliant idea, I reckon I might give that a go too And yeah, prob best to stay away from the question of sanity
  12. Definitely, just hope it comes out more like GTAIV and less like Watch_Dogs though It'll be a massive blow to T10 and Polyphony if a bunch of blokes working in a shed can produce something better than Forza or GT, that's for sure. Fingers crossed for them!
  13. My birthday falls in December, so naturally it's around this time of the year the usual questions from my family start as to what I want for both birthday and Christmas. Every year it gets more and more difficult, as tbh if there's anything I want I'm so impatient I usually just buy it myself Last year I actually ended up asking for (and receiving) some socks! So this I've decided that I'm going to do something different. I've started asking people to donate to a nominated charity instead of buying me anything, as I have more than enough 'things' in my life and I'd quite like to be able to do something for those less fortunate instead. My mum thinks I'm mad, my wife kinda understands, the rest of my family are keeping their cards close to their chests. Am I genuinely daft in doing this? Anyone else ever done similar, and if so what was the reaction?
  14. It worked for Watch_Dogs, and GTAIV. They weren't ready, so they got bumped.
  15. We're choosing our next house today, then I guess it's just a matter of time.

S'okay, I can't stop thinking about you either sweetie
  17. Erm yeah, I wouldn't be waiting, I'd be getting down to A&E!
  18. I've not played it so I don't know, but that's a long delay. A couple of weeks is polish, a month tops, anything over screams to me that they still have a long way to go. Of course, that's just going on prior history: They could well be the first company to actually be telling the truth about releasing it there to give it some breathing room.
  19. 5 months is not adding polish, 5 months is so broken they cannot release it like that. Most games don't come out in March because no-one buys games then, it's a dead time. GTAIV got away with it because, well, it's GTA!
  20. Pcars has been delayed until March next year. This is not looking hugely promising at all. Well, it's looking very pretty, but I just hope they're going to spend the next few months working exclusively on the physics and handling. PC testers still saying it's clunky.
  21. Excellent
  22. Golf R would be an excellent choice then, they're getting some superb write-ups.
  23. Definitely, I'm glad you're thinking like me Not looking for anything too big then, if you're looking at 1s and As?
  24. Enjoy, fingers crossed for the weather
  25. BMW wouldn't be any cheaper on parts and servicing, and trust me that their warranty department is not much fun to deal with at all Are diesels an option?
