  1. I think you're misunderstanding what actually happens. Sure, breathing mods DO add power, but only if you remap for them to fool the stock ECU. Much like Lotus ECUs, when the 350 realises it's doing more than it should, it does some electrickery within itself and backs things off until it's making the exact same power it should be. It's likely a timing thing as that's easy to do rather than aiming for AFRs I would imagine (that's my own take on it), but however it does mean that in just a couple of weeks you'll be back exactly where you started. An Uprev remap or aftermarket ECU cancels all that out, and will let you keep the gains you've got. It's not the mods we're questioning, it's the stock ECU.
  2. Makes me hate them when you go to their regular gas stations and you casually see 95MON by the pumps as if it's the most normal thing in the world. That would be the equivalent of seeing 105RON in Asda petrol stations over here...!
  3. 87 is the US equivalent to our 95, and their 91 is our 98. MON vs RON and all that, and allowing for adjustment in the figures.
  4. Dems got some reel purdy crude oils in dem dere Camelford hills, boy.
  5. Believe what you want. If you're that bothered, go and test it yourself.
  6. I only did it because there was a girl on the course I really fancied, turned out she had no idea who I was
  7. I studied A level law at college, not exactly a degree but it's an area I've always kept up on

That's great work, really enjoyed reading that fella Makes me miss mine now!
  9. That's a cracking graph mate, superb stuff I love Donny, it's a great circuit for equalising cars. I can only imagine how terrifying it must've been in the soaking wet in an F1 car, a la Senna's greatest drive.
  10. About a million of them on here over the years
  11. I've just ordered myself a replacement steering wheel as the OEM one is a bit too hard and thin for my taste, and although I hate myself for doing it I've found an E63 M Sport steering wheel on eBay that looks to be in great condition so I'm going to fit that instead. It's more sculptured than the standard one, and thicker too, so should make gripping the wheel more pleasurable. I'll probably get it recovered anyway, in a smoother and softer leather than BMW use. I've also been playing with the suspension a bit as well, in terms of the settings. I'm finding it hard to get a decent balance now I'm more used to having the option, although I know it's just a case of me fiddling more than anything wrong with the damper selection as such. Given the crappy weather conditions now I've throttled everything back, and am running just 5 clicks from soft front AND rear. Normally you'd have the engine-end dampers stiffer, but I've also not happy with the geo I had the last place do me as it's very prone to understeer. There's lots of grip there, but the feedback is lacking and I don't have the confidence that the car will stick. if you push past that feeling then it sticks incredibly well, but it doesn't make for a confidence inspiring drive! I'm going to take it back to my usual place and get them to re-do the geo, like I should've done in the first place Softening everything off but with the ARBs still stiff does make for a lovely drive though, you can really let the car flow but you get zero body roll in the corners. Serious progress can be made with very little complaining from the front seat passengers...
  12. Cheers chaps He's such a fussy old sod, I guess that's what makes it more awkward. Will have to find our nearest shop, must be one in town somewhere I would think.
  13. You won't gain any power from decats unless you remap for it as well, and since they can rasp a little bit I'd just go for a decent backbox to make a little more noise instead.
  14. Top stuff, cheers dude Bloody hipsters lol
  15. What tobacco juice though? Which one is close to Rothmans?
  16. Vapers! I need help! My old man has been diagnosed with COPD this week, so he really needs to quit smoking and this is the best way to help him do that, I think. Plus, easy Xmas present! He's a good 20 a day man at least, and he only smokes UK Rothmans. I know from my time that they're quite harsh, so not quite a Camel or a Marlboro Red but way stronger than a B&H but better quality than some of the cheaper stuff out there. He refuses to try anything that's sweet, so no Very Berry or Tropical Fruit Salad flavours. Basically, what hardware do I need to get him, and is there such a thing as a selection of tobacco flavour juices I can get him, on the basis that he must like at least one? What brands do I look for, where do I buy it from, etc. Any help appreciated.
  17. Fallout 4 has now been finished. Well, one of the four endings anyway, so I guess technically that's my 'true' ending. I think I clocked in about 100 hours on that, and I still reckon I've half the map to see yet! However, that will have to wait. As I now have a spanky new GeForce 980 in the PC, I figured it was time to give it a workout. F4 looks beautiful on the Xbone, but it's even better on the PC cranked to Ultra. Now, I can't actually tell any difference in framerate despite the Xbone managing 30fps at best and the PC knocking out a solid 60fps constantly, but it's the draw distance and the gloss over the world that I notice the most. Control system is VERY fiddly on the PC, and whilst I could use the Xbone controller I want a slightly different experience humping through the Commonwealth this time round. I've also turned on full cheats, so I'm starting at level 150 with all the perks I could reasonably want, and infinite junk and ammo and stuff. Makes for a totally different game, so stealth isn't that critical but building bases sure is a lot more fun! Since I know the story I don't feel cheated at all, I'm just enjoying mucking around a bit. 'Tis great. I also fired up PCars on the PC too, and no great surprises that it looks a hell of a lot better than the Xbone. It also feels a lot better too, even out of the box, so I reckon this could well get me back into the game. Shame it's only running on my 55" telly in the mancave rather than the main telly downstairs, but I can use my reclining chair up here and it's a much more 'racecar' sitting position with the wheel & pedals. Yup, I think I'm going to enjoy PC gaming again.
  18. £24K  Steering wheel is shocking. Other than that, and the over doing it of the red inside, that's a good car. Just not worth the cost IMHO.
  19. Is that not just slammed? Granted, I'm hardly the king of street chatter, but I wouldn't call that stanced.
  20. Agreed, apart from the fact they're FWD. As fun as a good hot hatch can be, I'd always prefer to have something that drives the rear wheels.
  21. Damage whilst being used, I call that a proud scar of war my friend. Wear it with pride!
  22. Ah yes, I know that only too well. Tell him it costs 10p to heat the house for an hour but £1 an hour to run a dehumidifier?
