  1. I have two HR bumpers here up for grabs, both needing minor repair works before they can be fitted. Pics first: That's the red one, and it's the worst of the pair. It's already had a bit of rubber filler added to it, and there's some scuffing that side too that the camera wouldn't pick up. Everything else looks fine though, in terms of structure and mounting. That's the orange one. The close up shows a tear in the plastic, but aside from that the bumper is sound. And free badge! Both have various age-related stone chips etc. They are currently at work at Stansted Airport, but I can bring them home to Halstead easy enough. So what do I want for these? Nothing! Nowt! Nada! All I ask is that you sort shipping (so either collection, or you literally get a bloke and a van to turn up here and grab it, my laziness is preventing me doing anything more proactive with them) and make a small donation of your choice to the charity of my choice. If you think a pound is fair, donate a pound. If you think a fiver, a tenner, twenty... Whatever your conscience lets you get away with. I've had a handful of enquiries on these already so in order of priority: Oggieteepo Bradders AaronC350z ...get first go, if they don't want them then of course it's a free for all. However, I reserve the right to give these away to the people that make my life easier! And since I forgot the photo with my name in (as I always do), here's a photo of actual me with the actual bumpers instead: The sun was in my eyes as I took it
  2. True, however that doesn't mean that an unfair term can be inserted I tend to agree with you, read what you sign, but at the same time it wouldn't stop me doing non-reversible mods to the car. Mapping would be completely out though. I don't think I ever told VWFS that I put a private plate on my car, despite Porsche having it under the new reg on their system I only found out that I forgot when I came to sell the car and put the old plate back on, oops!
  3. ...of which they would ignore should you ever wave it in their face despite overwhelming evidence in your favour, then they would promise to do what was in writing and fail that and/or do it on the cheap or illegally, then you have to take them to court etc. Why bother? If the car and the deal was right, it could still make sense. I'm not saying they'd be my first choice mind
  4. I wonder how well that would stand up in court. Powertrain mods then yes, completely, but if something was superficial? I'd argue that's an unfair term and void.
  5. NOOOOOOOOOOOO
  6. Actually, it would be more useful if people used their consumer rights a bit more. That would cause companies to either go out of business, or shape up. I still maintain that I would buy from J17, I'd just be getting everything in writing before hand.
  7. A chair! My god, was anyone hurt? Much damage? Have you put in a claim for compensation? Stay strong my friend, always here for you. I know your pain, as I checked my garden last night and found that a small disused plant pot had been sadly knocked over as well
  8. http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=193416 Interesting reading, that would seem to back up the point about VAG removing finance if modified. Post 50 is where he states about the finance being withdrawn, and that's from 2008 too...!
  9. Good read, thanks. Backs up what I was saying about only the powertrain warranty being affected. Nothing on there about the finance side of the remaps though? And like you say, if it's only something that VWFS now do (they certainly didn't back in 2010 when I had my agreement with them) then it becomes an easy choice just to get finance from someone else: Zero risk then! Silly, silly VAG.
  10. Why would you not? On Ben's track biased car, makes much more sense to remove the ABS than to keep it.
  11. Sorry, what I meant was that if the stitching in the seat fell apart then VW would still have to fix that, regardless of remap or not. However, if they do routinely scan the ECU for remaps every time the car goes in and then grass you up to the finance company, and you have to cough up the entire sum then and there, I don't think I'd be buying a VAG product again. Not that I can't see it from their side: Indeed, it makes sense, I just don't think that's a particularly nice thing to insert in financial agreements. Gearboxes certainly shouldn't be covered if you've had a remap, there's even an argument to not cover suspension components as the extra shove could cause wear and tear on those...
  12. A car is never too old nor too used for modding. If stuff needs replacing or refreshing (suspension, interior etc) then you simply upgrade rather than OEM it. Job's a carrot

    Kids

Best reason to either never have them, or put it off as long as possible!
  14. The MU65 ANG one. Tacky as hell. Your one is fine bud, it was more a reference to that thing.
  15. Hopefully yours will have a better number plate on it! Riviera GT3
  16. Depends on what the finance agreement says. I've not seen any that specifically prohibit remaps, but then I've not seen them from all companies. Remap would only invalidate the bits it could break, i.e. powertrain and engine. If you had a seat fall apart, for example, that would still be covered.
  17. Nope. Only mods that can be proven to have broken that part of the car (i.e. if you whack the boost up and the engine goes pop) will fail that particular part of the warranty. In the case of the IC cover, you could remove it but when it gets peppered with stones and needs replacing Ford won't be interested. You can also get your car serviced wherever you like using OEM-quality parts, and the warranty remains intact. Does the FRS look a little staid next to the CTR? Yes. However, that's a good thing as the CTR is the most god-awful butt-ugly Halfords-parts-bin-special car we've had out in a long time.
  18. Finance on the car means nothing. You purchased in good faith so have clear title to the car: This is the finance company's problem, not yours.
  19. Sod insurance, I'd be taking them to court for the lot.
  20. We had some extra leaves on the floor. Chaos, I tell you!

    VDC off?

I suspect you have significantly better throttle control than most
  22. ^^^ That. I'm not trendy in the slightest, but even I like those at shows.
  23. S2000 plus some choice upgrades? I know you said no Vtak yo, but they're genuinely good cars. You won't get a decent TVR for £12K, not any more.

    Cheap pads?

There is that too... Last time I pimp your place out then!
