Sorry man, this really isn't working for me. I can see what you're getting at, and on their own all the parts are awesome, but as a combo I just can't get with it.

I really did think they'd killed him off when the Cap put his shield through the arc reactor in his chest. I literally sat there with my mouth wide open until the next scene back in the unit where he was okay. Epic fight scene between the two of them though, absolutely perfect.

Golf R is blisteringly quick, more practical, and has MPG of 40 on the combined test. I cannot see why you'd go for the Scirocco over that.

But if you didn't get the Toureg and got something cheaper, like a Focus estate or whatever, you'd then have the money to get something nice for yourself

I wouldn't drive around in a plush 2 series diesel when I could do the exact same job in a Ka, and then take all the money I save by doing that to buy something I actually enjoy.

If you want fuel economy, then just get the cheapest thing you can possibly find. Who cares what it looks like or how it drives, it's a tool to serve a purpose. If you want something fun to put through the business, then get the most funnest thing you can. After all, why not?! For me, trying to compromise just leads to a car that does nothing well.

Just had a phone call from my insurer, the lorry's insurer has accepted liability so I have zero excess to cough up for. More than that, I feel vindicated in knowing that it 100% wasn't my fault in the slightest So yeah, bit of a win/win now. Stupid sodding lorry driver!

Most people on here do. How many times have we heard people say they won't drive X, Y or Z simply because they're too common? Basically, I read that as people worried that every one will think they're a sheep rather than them actually just buying the car that suits them the best. Which is very odd, when you think about it. If you ask about ketchup every one says to buy Heinz because it's the best: It would seem very strange to say "Nah mate, go and buy the Lidl Catsup brand one, it comes in a weird shape bottle that doesn't look like anything else! Doesn't taste as good and it's not really much cheaper either, but at least you won't have another Heinz bottle on the table." It's utterly, utterly bizarre. I own a BMW and a Renault. I can tell you that BMW quality is considerably better than a Renault

I'll remind people of this thread the next time someone on here bins their Zed. We can dispense with the fake sympathy then, and just get straight to the point that they must be an utter cockwomble. For all we know the guy could've saved up his whole life to buy that, then someone drifts into his lane causing him to panic and stuff it into the tree. Or diesel on the road. Or maybe he just wasn't used to the power. Or maybe he really was driving like a numpty. Either way, it's a sad end to a stunning car, and I bet no-one feels worse today than he does. Don't get me wrong, if the guy was genuinely driving poorly then let rip, but considering we have absolutely zero idea what happened I'm not overly keen on the insults when I know that everyone on here would be devastated if it happened to them. Parts of this thread reminds me of those people who stand at track days and cheer when someone bins their pride and joy simply because they made a mistake. I'm not overly comfortable with that, either. See? I can do caring as well sometimes.
