  1. Confession time: Many years back I went to the V Festival in my truck, mainly because I was carrying more than one passenger but also because I knew the field was boggy after rain. Parked up with everyone else. Come leaving time, you can imagine the chaos that ensues when people ignore road ways or common politeness. Well, after about 20mins of going nowhere fast I simply lit up the obstruction lights on the roof and watched as the sea of cars parted in front of me I felt like Moses, and navigated the rest of the car park in about 2mins flat. Completely legal, if a big cheeky.
  2. I almost admire the brass balls to do that.
  3. Much, much longer. If we see a new Zed before 2020 I'll be amazed.
  4. Get the Aventador, always a way of rejigging finances
  5. Ah just checked, they've snuck back up to the £100K mark. Shame. I know you were stung by the brand with the Cayman fiasco, but would a 997TT not be right up your street? Bulletproof engine in the Mezger, holding value, bonkers quick, plenty of stuff you can modify on them?
  6. Personally, I'm not as enthralled by the G as I should be. The interior isn't what it should be in terms of quality, the engine doesn't make a particularly nice noise unless you spend £££££ on the right exhaust, and some of the engineering is horrific. It's spectacular to look at, but as much as I love Lamborghinis in general I think I'd rather have the 'Vette. What price are early Murcis now?
  7. Without trying to ask the most obvious and personal question, what percentage increase is that? And what else would you buy for the money instead? If there's nothing out there that floats your boat without spending double, I still say go for it.
  8. So how much is the cost increase in pounds? I mean, it's a stunning car and one I'd love to own, and as a dream to say you've done it then even if it's another couple of grand it's still got to be worth it. Couple that with low depreciation and what you normally spunk on mods anyway ( ) then surely it's peanuts in the grand scheme of things? You can't put a price on your hobby matey, I say unless it's going to cost you another £20K then go for it. Man maths can work here!

    tyre decision

Agreed. I certainly wouldn't put the RS3s up there with 050A, MPSS or the AD08R: They're more suitable for lighter, smaller cars like an MX5 or a Clio.
  10. Probably never. Unfortunately at the price they'd need to sell at no-one would buy it, if they found a way of dropping the V6TT from the R35 (detuned, of course) AND keeping the price about £35K then they might be onto a winner. I'm thinking of how quickly the Mustang and FRS are selling at that price, but you either get a nice V8 or a hooligan of pace for that cash. Sadly, the budget GT cruiser isn't massively high on the list of things people want any more. I dare say this is the end of the Zed, at least for the foreseeable future and certainly in NA guise.
  11. That's all made up. "A source said" is media speak for "I need some copy to fill a space".
  12. But take that another way: I could quote easily imagine that being done in great humour, with everyone laughing at Jordan fluffing his lines *again*, and Evans mocking him by banging his head on a wall. As ever, the devil is in the details and how it gets reported.
  13. It's worth remembering that inflation has an effect on the value of the car as well: A car purchased for £6K in 2012 may still be worth £6K today, but that £6K is only worth £5.5K in relative terms. Not that that doesn't apply to every single thing anyone has ever bought in the history of the world, but it does mean that there has been some kind of depreciation even if it's only inflation based.
  14. Megs tyre gel works well, but apply it with a brush not the their silly applicator thing. It's my go-to tyre shine product. AG tyre stuff is one of their better products if you want to spray and forget, but it doesn't last very long.
  15. Possibly lack of adjustment in the standard mounts, however that looks a little suspect to me. I'd go back and ask them why it's not even.
  16. Hopefully they prosecuted the lane hogger as well.
  17. Do Brodit not do one? Their clips are simply unbeatable in any application I've found, having used them in the BMW, the Clio and the Impreza.
  18. http://dvlaregistrations.direct.gov.uk/help/miscellaneous-questions.html Last question.
  19. A far more sensible price this time round!
  20. +1 on locking wheel nuts. Spawn of Satan, and cause more problems than they solve.
  21. It's not like insurance for young people has suddenly got expensive. I remember paying £1700 to insure a 1.3L Escort back in '97, which equates to over £2700 today. Or paying £800 in '01 on a diesel Focus, which is £1200 today. Insurance has never been cheap, the numbers may be higher these days but it's all relative.
