  1. What issues are you having with your current setup?
  2. And because of that, fewer and fewer people can enjoy track driving and you run the very real risk of it being banned altogether. Given that as an alternative, it's incredibly self defeating to run loud on track unless racing. 108dB is utterly insane volume wise. That is deafening levels without ear protection.
  3. First off, they don't have to give you a courtesy car, and it's not their fault you live so far from them. They cannot withhold the return of the warranty cost as you've not used it: None of the issues you have with the car fall under the warranty, they fall directly under the responsibility of the dealer to sort. You have to let them take the car back and assess it, and fix it as well.
  4. It'll never happen, and if it does it'll be so anodyne that it'll lack any kind of character.
  5. It's just a car. If anything, I drive mine more in the winter as I love the challenge wet and cold weather brings to a driver.
  6. It's usually very obvious if a car is too loud for track or not, even without a noise meter. Drive by meters are a pain though, I hate those too. I'd like to see them clearly painted so you know exactly where to lift, rather than guess.
  7. No age at all. Good to see something like this being used still though, looks mint as well.
  8. I'm talking about track use, not road use. Bungs & cats always in on track.
  9. Were they made by a blind one armed ferret on work experience on a Friday afternoon? That's utterly shocking. Send 'em back and ask for either parts that have half a chance at fitting, or a refund. A little bit of massaging isn't out of the question, but those parts aren't even in the same postcode as the car.
  10. I actually have bet on Nico to win, just so at least if it does happen then I have money to console me. If he doesn't do it this year, he'll never do it. He has the best mechanics, had a 48pt lead at one point, his main competitor has suffered from many mechanical issues, he's driving as well as he ever has. If Lewis beats him again, then I think he'll never ever be the same again.
  11. Today, according to the first post.
  12. I fitted the cheapest ones I could get my hands on when mine went pop Out of all the lights on my car, they're the ones I care about the least.
  13. Lewis didn't get the correct setup all weekend, hence why he was so far off the pace. He gambled with sticking with one setup hoping he'd learn it, but it just didn't work out. That said, Rosberg had the race of his life, I've rarely seen him look that comfortable. Although another couple of laps and Ricciardo would've had him I reckon. Still too many races left to call it. Malaysia could go either way, I'd expect Lewis to do well at Suzuka and COTA, Mexico will be tight, Brazil suits Lewis more, and if it goes down to the final race at Yas Marina I'd put money on Hamilton as he's been there and done it before. Rosberg looks more comfortable then he's ever been, but he's not had a fraction of the issues that Lewis has had this year. Wait until it starts getting tough, then we'll see.
  14. And there was me thinking that it was the Germans that liked their big walls.
  15. Depends on pad and disc combination, so impossible to quantify really. Initial bite doesn't actually change that much though, what does change is feel and resistance to fade: They're the main benefits It's all about heat management.
  16. I couldn't lust over any car with 1.7L turbo 4 pot. Drop the V6 into it and yes, it would be far more appealing, but with that crappy little fartcan powering it... Supercar it definitely ain't!
  17. Indeed, this has been an issue going back to the 997.2 GT3. The trouble is that it's only the UK that suffers from this problem, so it's hard to justify commercially to produce a new exhaust when the cars are sold out multiple times over anyway! The law for nuisance noise is a double edged sword, as whilst it protects a great many things unfortunately it does seem to discriminate unfairly against motorsport. When I become Grand Master Overlord Of The Universe, I'll build f*ck-off great big walls around every track and then the NIMBYs can get stuffed.
  18. Just checked, yes they do: http://www.dba.com.au/dba-part-finder/?view=product&make=NISSAN&model=350%20Z&pid=20676 Hope that link works, anyway.
  19. Pretty sure DBA do some as well. The PF discs are fantastic though, I ran them on mine and coupled with the PF pads (01 up front, Z in the rear) they were immense.
  20. Personally, I consider it the responsibility of every track day goer to make their car as quiet as possible before hitting the track. If we don't give the NIMBYs the ammo, then ultimately we win. Besides, you can't hear anything properly with a helmet on anyway, so no point having the nicest sounding car.
