  1. GAP still wouldn't cover VED or supercharger benefits, it only ever refers to the invoice price of the vehicle.
  2. Actually I think they've got a fair point: Why should someone who has been successful in life and worked hard to get to where they are be given the same things as those who haven't? Nowt wrong with putting them there as a temporary solution, but it's not fair on anyone if they get to live there permanently. We see this all the time on a smaller scale, when the council decides to house crappy tenants next door to someone who is just an Average Joe, and then it turns out that the person is absolute scum and doesn't give a rat's ass about anything, generally being a crappy neighbour. I'm not saying that all who lived in Grenfell Tower were scum, but at the same time it's easy to see why the folks who live in the nicer parts of Kensington may not be happy with the decision. People fear change, and people rightly get the hump when others are given stuff for free that they've had to work hard for. Also let's not forget that some of the tenants were also on the group of people that decided not to worry about trivial things like fire safety. No-one deserved what happened, but sometimes the blame doesn't always lie with those at the top.
  3. It's a new car, so you'll get a brand new one in return. You won't get anything back for the VED as it's a future cost so you haven't lost yet (same as with insurance premium increases), and likewise the lack of free supercharger access. You could sue at a later time once you've sold the car, but I wouldn't waste my time tbh. Why would you need to take time off work, unless injured? Plenty of people manage to get on with their lives after an accident. In terms of a courtesy car, please just get something that will work rather than the expensive equivalent: All you'll do is push everyone's premiums up otherwise. A generic estate car/small SUV will be plenty fine for a few months.
  4. FF is great fun for a big car, isn't it? I'd love one of those, the missus wanted one in yellow just to annoy our local dealer principal as he hated the idea!
  5. So sorry for your losses Pete, that must've been so hard Eagerly awaiting pics of the little ones though
  6. You can still go to jail for that, yeah. Rarely done, but in this case I think there may be a political desire for it to happen. Put it this way, I'm glad I'm not the director of the company that installed the cladding/firestopping. And yeah, I run this risk every day by working with potable water. It's terrifying if you ever stop to think about just what would happen if you didn't disinfect something properly...
  7. I think it's been better so far than expected, ignoring the dramatic drop in value of the pound that's a terrible thing, but I don't think we've seen the worst and won't until the Brexit negotiations are done with. And speaking of them, I really hope they're not done in public like we've seen today about the UK offer to EU immigrants. FFS both TM and EU, keep your feelings on the matters private, stop sharing it with everyone!
  8. No idea if that pic works, hosted on FB, apologies if not. It's a very hot little Shatten (used to be a Kitten, then she became a little sh*t so became the Shitten, now she's not a fully grown cat so she's a Catten, but she's still a sh*t so is the Shatten now ). Or Lexi as her given name.
  9. Oh I agree, I wasn't replying directly to you matey. Does my head in when Jo doesn't watch any news at all. Makes having a conversation about current affairs impossible!
  10. In fairness, I should point out I've changed my tune on Brexit and would now vote for it if it were held again tomorrow.
  11. I can kinda see where TT350 is coming from, tbh. It wasn't just a firdge freezer, it was a Hotpoint fridge freezer model number FF175BP or FF175BG, and suddenly we're being told to contact the manufacturer despite there being no question so far that there was anything untoward in the design of said appliance. Straight away Hotpoint are going to suffer short-term, and that doesn't seem very fair to me. It's details being released for no reason other than to panic people. Same as with Premier Inn. People died, and someone will go to jail because of that. Not because they deserve to, in fact it may yet prove to be a catalogue of errors, but this is so public that if there is no prosecution then the CPS will be slaughtered in the press. Rather than simply seek to find the truth and make sure it never happens again, there's this rampant undercurrent of desire to punish someone, anyone. It's been festering for a while now (look how the intelligence services got attacked over Manchester and London), and this is just an extension of it. I'm not saying there should be no prosecution if someone has broken the law, but it could at least wait until the investigation is complete, which we're a light year from.
  12. Col is one of the few people using facts to back his arguments up. I don't always agree with them, but it makes his arguments more robust than just "Everything will be amazing, you'll see!". It really, really won't. Not in the short term. And TM and her rubbish election campaign is going to massively hurt us further down the line.
  13. I've said it elsewhere on this thread, but I really didn't enjoy the new one despite adoring the previous one. Too rushed, you lose 90% of the opportunities if you don't just dive in. No time to relax and suss things out.
  14. Truth. I remember taking a ride with an ex-Carrera Cup GB champion, and his control (not speed) was absolutely out of this world. He had a 911 doing things I would never have imagined.
  15. You ain't kidding there! I usually swap when I can get a go in theirs, on the provision that if they break mine I'm taking their car home! On the road, I prefer to chuck my keys to someone and let them go off and drive it on their own rather than have me with them. I'd rather they experienced it how they want, rather than be worrying about fluffing a gear change or wondering if I'm picking holes in their driving. If I trust them enough to drive it, then I want them to enjoy that experience fully.
  16. I think we'll look back in twenty years and realise that Brexit was the best thing to happen to the UK. I still believe we're in for a very rough time before then which will affect my life more than having a rosy time when I'm looking to retire.
  17. Which isn't entirely a bad idea, but it's politically unsustainable right now. And tbh I reckon we can do better than that as a country, it'll just take time.
  18. I'd say that's definitely VFM! I've no issue paying £80 for something like Fallout 4 with the season pass, as I know I'll get 100+ hours out of that easy. I don't mind paying £50 for Forza, but I don't bother with the car packs (Porsche one excluded) as I don't feel I get the real benefit when there's so many cars included from the off. Very much depends on the game.
  19. As long as you enjoy it, and the extra content gives VFM, then why would you not buy it? I mean, if there's other games that will give you better VFM or that you'd enjoy more then sure, don't buy it, but otherwise just get it and enjoy it. The standalone game should give you all you need, then it's up to you if you want to buy the DLC or not.
  20. It's a false positive though. It's a very short term gain, things are going badly for the guy in the street and it's not looking good for the immediate future. In five years time things may well be amazing, but I struggle to see many positives in the next year or so.
  21. Like a Zagato version. There's some bits of that I really like.
  22. I finished AC2 again last night, only the second time I've ever played it through. Killing the Pope is awesome, although I'm disappointed that the Sistene Chapel doesn't have the full range of art on the wall: If you look, it's the same two paintings (albeit faithfully recreated from real life) duplicated. AssBro shall be started tonight
  23. Put it this way, I've never seen Americans go so quiet so quickly
