  1. I don't disagree that EV will eventually take over, but I don't think it'll be in my lifetime at all. Too much infrastructure has to change first, and that's going to be a hard sell.
  2. Given how much you like a good bit of research, and you're clearly not a completely unintelligent moron, I can't understand how you feel there's not enough information out there for to disseminate enough fact to make a reasoned decision. You do masses of research into making an exhaust leak or filling a mount with rubber, but you won't do it for who's actually running the country? How odd.
  3. So 16 years then? Jeez man, that's even more optimistic than I thought you might say. Shame you're not a betting man, I'd have put my house on that one!
  4. Agreed, even I like that in black.
  5. You could do a sportsman's bet, y'know. The point was more for you to define moving away from fossil fuels. You say within our lifetime, but what would you consider as us successfully moving away from oil & gas.
  6. Define 'move away', and I'll take that bet.
  7. I can almost guarantee there will be very strong protests (I hesitate to use the word riot) in major cities if the Tories win today. It almost makes me want to see Labour win, just to see if we get the same thing from right-wingers. And of course, anyone who voted Tory will be called evil and morally bankrupt and that we wrecked the country. I just want the best for my country, I couldn't really care less who was in power as long as they make things better. If Labour win and they can make things better without screwing me to the wall then I'm all for it.
  8. So what happens when everyone switches to free electricity, and tax revenues drop? What do you think will then be taxed or taxed higher to compensate?
  9. And yet, if you break the points down into a more rational state, they're pretty much how I feel about Labour's plans. Not to the extreme of terrorist's friend or that nonsense, but not entirely unreasonable. From a purely English language/media POV though, that's one of the best front pages The Sun have done for many years. It's absolutely stunning in terms of hitting their targets bang on, and the artwork is superb. Fish carcass on the bin lid
  10. I found it boring and pretentious. Nice idea, but dull as ditchwater.
  11. Vids aren't showing for me NB, you need to remove the s from the end of the https at the start dude
  12. First thing I'd try and establish is whether it's actually coated or not. Quick wash will tell you that, massive difference between a waxed car and a coated one. Only way to tell if it'll leave a mark is to take them off and see. I agree with my learned friend above, probably going to need a polish regardless.
  13. Oh I absolutely do. Sometimes I even enjoy it.
  14. Sssppppfffftttt!!! *coffee meets keyboard* You cannot be for real. You cannot.
  15. Have you not been following his posts?
  16. You were arguing for it. A line here or there saying you weren't doesn't change the essence of thousands of other lines of text you wrote. If you weren't arguing for it, then why does everyone think you were? Are we all wrong, or could it be you? Pretty sure Stu said the same thing to you the other day.
  17. Dude, you have proper issues.
  18. No, you were arguing for and defending it. Choosing to ignore the fact doesn't change that. I'm not sure you even realise how obtuse some of your posts are, or how blind you argue a dead point.
  19. To prevent terror attacks? More surveillance, more undercover, more help from Muslim communities. That's it.
  20. For someone who doesn't agree with it, you've done a good job of arguing for it. (Edit, not you Col). It's a silly idea, end of. Try and argue the toss about it all you like, but it's never going to happen and would cause more problems than it solves.
  21. Maybe we could arm them with guns too, that would be more effective. And obviously we wouldn't want the terrorists to know who was armed, so we could let them hide the guns on them. They'd need a permit for that, maybe call it a Carry But Conceal permit? Perhaps we could write it into a bill of rights so it's enshrined in law forever. I don't think any other country does that, and I'm sure there wouldn't be any issues letting unpaid volunteers loose with weapons.
  22. Would've been quicker to get out and walk than follow that knobhead!
  23. You cannot and will not ever eradicate terrorism in the current form using current methods. You will not do it by force at all. As has been said, a billion more police on the streets armed to the teeth with ninja moves would not have prevented either Manchester or London. Is it impossible to have a Super Civvy team? No. Would it be useless and a massive waste of funds? Yes.
