  1. Hmm...that looks like my old red supra parked next to you. Always tempted to get another, and yours would be the colour of choice. Handling wise the zed is miles better than the supra, I adore mine, not as fast at the TT but then I only drove the NA.
  2. Yeah I know he was talking about the 350z, I was just pointing out the 370z can easily be made to keep up, and probably cheaper than a Z4M would cost to buy I thought Z4ms were cheaper than the 370z??? I had a look a few times they can be got for 15-19k whereas the 370z is still 20k-25k second hand. No idea what the tuning options are on the z4m though. I'm leaning towards the 370 again, it looks more manly, though next to the z4m it doesn't look at sleek. I even had a butchers at 996s - they have really come down in price and would make an interesting, albeit older, option. You even see 997s under 30k now.
  3. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3284156.htm Got me looking at Z4s now lol, this advert reminds me of a mills and boon novel (not that I've ever read one). All its missing is "as he slid into her interior, he pushed her button and felt her groan under him" Or something like that.
  4. Nope we have one of the biggest BMW dealers in our area and there's an abundance of z4's and z4 m coupes. Really not a fan of the Beemer. Looks like a car for a rich mans missus to be honest. Would save a bit more and buy a 911 instead. New BMW's are renowned for being very unreliable. My missus dad had endless issues with his 760li and ended up having a new engine put in due to them being unable to repair it successfully. The i-drive system failed on countless occasions also. Really? BMWs strike me as one of the most reliable brands out there. Sure you can always find examples of issues, but given how many they sell its not surprising. I'd be more concerned about porsche reliability (especially as I'm looking to buy one). I've owned many BMWs and frequented many BMW forums and get the impression the reliability is superb. Though I get pretty much the same impression of the zed.
  5. I love the Z4m coupe, being a huge BMW and Zed fan I think the 370 loses out on looks to the beemer but not by much and I'd be proud to be seen in either. I'm considering my next car, and for the budget its looking like Cayman S or 370z, I'd love the beemer and it would be cheaper but I've heard its really small inside and I'm a big lump. I will try and have a go in one though. Oh and to the guy who saw 12 - perhaps its the same one and he was lost?? I travel to london a lot and have only seen 1-2 on the roads, I've seen more 370s but not a huge amount. Both cars have a lot of road presence, just drive both and see which one makes you grin the most.
  6. I had a 52 plate disco, got rid of it pretty quick. horrible to drive though did look nice and very roomy. got a sorento instead, love it though not great in the snow as its RWD (fine when put in 4wd). Get a cheap hi-lux maybe.
  7. I have the twin intake JWT, purchased from a member on here. The car doesn't feel any different, and I wouldn't care if it did...because the noise...OMG the noise! From the hi-rev engine it really does sound superb. I dont have other kits to compare it to but she really sings and as a 'sports' car for me should sound as well as it looks/goes its a must have mod.
  8. If you can get a good rate then this can be a good option I think, I may be moving soon and will want solar on my next property but probably wont go for the 25 yr deal as the technology could change significantly in that time and I wouldn't want to be that restricted. IIRC when selling the house the new owners have no choice but to accept the panels, which can restrict your market.
  9. Check out his buying feedback gives you a pretty good idea of his personality - and who says Chavs aren't creative!!!
  10. +1 I'm sure whenever I look into new tyres the RE040s are ones to stay away from in any weather - RE050s much better. I'm looking for a set now, but may run toyo T1R instead, good write ups.
  11. I w*nk a lot, semi-pro I would say but not quite ready to represent Wales. Vodka seems to be my main hobby though its not a good one. Aside from that (and w*nking) I like weight training but at 36 I seem to be getting injured all the time, slipped disc, then shoulder issues and finally about 8 months ago somehow damaged a nerve in my arm/shoulder, went down to about 20% strength on my left side, now running about 60% at best, very frustrating. Had physio etc but apparantly only time will help. I'm also a gamer, play snooker, guitar, usual guy hobbies.
  12. I wonder how much you'd be upsetting the balance of the car. For me the zed handles brilliantly and I've had quite a few RWD cars so I'm not sure how much I'd want to alter that. You could strip out all the carpets, but she'll be noisy. roof lining? Plastic trim? Bonnet lining (can't remember if the zed has one), remove air con? take head unit out? replace glass with perspex? Lose weigh yourself? Interestingly I've gone from 17stone2 to 15stone5 in the last 3 months and the fuel consumption in the zed is the same. I have better performance though, especially up stairs. Sounds like too much effort and cost and no real advantage unless tracking and going for a bare strip.
  13. wow that is totally stunning. I had a desktop wallpaper many years ago of a widebody prelude, I lost the pic and spent years looking for it or the kit and never found it again. I ramble, but my point was that is very close to the pic of the car and am image that started me off as a huge fan of widebody cars. I think its the porsche-like lines, beautiful. I've never kitted out a car with widebody though, soooo much work involved and cost. Tempted to buy one a few times but rare.
  14. 2.8 mpg?? Are you in first gear?! I get 22.8 and it rarely changes but I do the same route every day.
  15. I really like the styling on these, especially look good in white. Been tempted myself a few times but couldn't live with the performance for the cost at new - but if they are 15k for a 10 plate then that is really good. the new renault RS is nice as well, looked at one in a dealers a few months ago. Again would never spend that on a car as too many higer performance choices for similar money (although not new obv). 1-2 year olds sound like a good option though.
  16. Try and find a cat d as you'll only be tracking it and it will save loads. Lots of choices, E30 318, 325, e36 325, vx220, mx5, nissan 200zx. To be honest, not many cars you can't strip out and have fun with, though I'd say RWD is a must. Or a cat 350z stripped out even in your budget.
  17. Wow that is stunning, I'm tempted myself!!! What engine would be in that and any idea on performance?

    Winter 4x4 help

My uncle had the fourtrak, looked very nice but he got rid of it pretty quick as it really lacked power to the point he thought the engine was duff. Checked out okay, apparantly they are just really poor engines.
  19. woohoo I can post in this thread! After years of thinking about it I've decided to try biking. Bought pretty much new CBF 125, got the gear and did my CBT 2 weeks ago. Loved it. Only been out on the bike once since and pretty much immediatly realised I need a bigger bike as its way too slow and I'm 6foot4. got my theory test in 2 weeks and think I'll percevere with the 125 until I get experience then book my DAS and go for a Suzuki SV650. My instructor let me try his kawasaki 600 and if felt so much nicer than the 125, easier to ride (only in the learning area, not on the road obviously) and sounded amazing. Wrong time of year methinks to jump straight into my test though. I bought razr jacket and gloves, helmet was MT IIRC, need to get trousers and boots though before going much further. Gear changes aren't easy and yes, the amount of times I forgot to stop the indicators... Also, taking me a while to get used to corners and roundabouts, I think I'm too top heavy with the bike.

    Winter 4x4 help

Don't touch freelanders - they have the rover engines and so suffer the HG issue. A friend has lost his engine twice, and a 53 plate the missus had (mg 160) suffered HG failure.

    Winter 4x4 help

Wrangler!!! I've owned several 4x4s - currently have a kia sorento (fantastic) and if I wanted something fun (and maybe a little cold) I'd have a Jeep wrangler. Prices vary a lot but buy wise and they don't seem to depreciate much. Aside from that, owned a few fronties and found them great cars, one was the V6 and it got used off road quiet a bit. I changed to a disco Td5 IIRC and it was big but terrible handling and driving and sold it fast. The kia is a great car for the money, you have to watch her in snow because of RWD (=FUN) but stick her in 4x4 mode and she's fine. Mine is a 55 plate, though i'd be tempting for the 06 model onwards, even better engine. Look great done up as well and probably the nicest 4x4 I've owned to drive, very easy gearing. EDIT - just seen your budget...hmm...frontie maybe, swb v6 would be fun and people avoiding the big engines so maybe grab a bargain.
  22. I'd probably spin round Jackie Chan style, take the gun and blow their brains out. If they shot me in the process I'd press restart, load the last saved game and try again. Either that, or go for a noble. 'go for a noble' sounds rude.
  23. Hmm, okay, I've worked on cars before but no idea if I can get/replace a relay or where it is! Dealer job?
  24. Hey guys, odd issue started today on the way to work (in the pouring rain). The wipers kept stalling, every 20-30 seconds and for 5-10 seconds each time. They stopped in different positions and regardless if on full, intermittent or even switched off (kept running). Rear works fine, as do washers. I'm thinking new stalk. Any other ideas? Stealers for a stalk and can i fit myself or garage/dealer job? She's a 57 plate hirev. Rough prices? Can't think of anything else it would be. The issues went away for a while but came back again in the afternoon. Nightmare to drive. Thanks, Ozz.
  25. Scary stuff, I must admit I hate putting normal unleaded in mine as she definitely feels different and twice I've had a misfire/power loss when accelerating on normal unleaded. Its always a last resource as tescos seems to run out quite a bit of the good stuff. Do you and your bro fill up at the same station? Perhaps the petrol quality is an issue?
