  1. I know what you mean about Samsung - I had a G600 before and really frustrated with how flimsy it was and also the way you do stuff on it was'nt very common sense logical !!! But looking round and not wanting to pay through the nose on an Iphone I stumbled on the Omnia - its a totally different kettle of fish! Always had Moto's prior to this and they were rock solid except recently where they have just gone down hill big stylie - fed up with them breaking down all the time. For me this phone is a bit of a lifeline - my first phone that does more than just make calls - working in the back of beyond and presently trying to change jobs its been great for researching and following up etc etc ... Beavis I completely agree with you mate we are breeding a nation of muppets who wont be able to hold a conversation - they would rather talk through a mobbie!!
  2. May I throw another one in the pot for you to consider? Samsung Omnia - 8G or 16G models (built in memory+16G external) Windows mobile device . Yes indeed once in a blue moon I have to reboot it but....battery life is good -the geeks on the Omnia forum have loads of advise on how to mod it (yes yes I know I dont mod my Zed but I have my phone) It looks Iphone like but its not as flash (I went for black) but you can get white etc etc bla bla - bling stuff... Very light small enough without needing midget fingers, well screwed together - plenty of freeware out there as its boggo windows. You can make it look and behave like the Iphone interface with a different interface (same as the HTC diamond) SPB Mobile shell or Winterface for example? To be honest I hated it after 2 days but then as I began to understand how to change it to how I wanted it now I love it. The damn thing has everything litterally! It really is a mini computer in my pocket - it will sync with everything. I've installed Tom Tom on it and it works fine I can read my emails etc check t'internet of course for the forum. You can just about change most things on it and if you dont like it put them back. The best thing about the Iphone was getting Windows developers off their ar**s to create similar style interfaces and think on different lines? I was going to go for the Iphone but I really dont think its quite there yet? The Samsung is the best compromise for me ? Btw did I mention the 5M camera - which is one of the easiest and nicest I have ever used Good luck in your search
  3. Thanks Mart - its the centre console guide I used myself a few months ago to reset the radio unit Hmm - I think that has to come out first then the centre tunnel which is a shame - oh well best wait until summer for that one I think thanks again
  4. Does anyone know how to remove this useless box ? I am hoping to make something a bit bigger and hence more useful for storage on the go? Do you need to take the whole centre console out for example? (sorry if covered before?) The felt bit with the coin slot does that cover something? Is that the equivalent thing to remove and adjust the handbrake on the 313bhp models maybe? Thanks in advance?
  5. £420 - yup same here - £380 for a full set of Falkens from Camskill (In June) and the rest was the fitting at my local Kwik Fit - now one thing Kwik fit wont fit anyone elses tyres unless you buy them from them (makes some business sense) but talk to the manager and be nice and well the saavy business bod will do it for you as they will realise you will come back again! This guy was really helpful and yes I will go back again! Falken 452's Top tyre - been on since June, did the Hoon and about 6K miles later and no loss of air , grip superb - other than when it snows - when the Zed is pants!
  6. Thank you! After 8.5 years it's probably about time u2... Mauritius looks gorgeous, god what I wouldn't give to escape there right now away from the gales and rain here! Looks like France is proving to be a popular holiday location this year, you all could have a French mini meet 8.5 years Cara - ah come on blokes years are like dog years in reverse - thats about 8 months is'nt it? Can France handle the roar of a load of Zeds down the country lanes! Cant wait! Hmm sounds like we may be having a mini Holiday meet - maybe our French counterparts can advise on locations ! A lot of good deals on sailings at the mo so get booking while they last!
  7. Blimey snap! We are off to France this year also - all being well - but more central and alsace if we get it sorted in time! Can't wait! Congrats Cara btw
  8. Hmm the Bury Adapter - I recon its the Black Pudding interface is wired up differently to the other one? Maybe try the Wigan adapter its got a larger slot for an RS232 Pie interface? (sorry in a playful mood!)
  9. Well looks ok (interior is a bit pants) but you know how we Jap car fans always get slagged off for having cars that look like bits of other cars - well ..... starter for 10 - how many other cars can you see in that design!
  10. Hmm interesting? So that means they are finding their way into the dealers somewhere then? Maybe they are Nissan demo cars for the dealers? Shame you did'nt have a camera with you mate - oh well , next time - bob into boots and get a disposable ! He he he ..
  11. Maybe its field research and development by CARPLAN who make T-Cut!
  12. Damn you Stanski and your sticks of shame I used to be a skier when I was at school, this was my first year on the 'tea tray' after many years of not going away on the piste! Just checked the snow forcast for Scotland and it says there is only 10-15cms on the slopes and some resorts are shut. Is this correct? Sticks of shame! I'm only jealous - dont have the bottle to board - worry about my wrists getting snapped off! Anyway I am far too old -not a 20 year old Web Developer from New Zealand with groovy hair and tan! Enjoy yoursleves folks
  13. Looking cool - literally! Damn you boarders - the Skiers arch nemesis - carving up our snow with your Tea trays!
  14. Airfix or Plastercine model's Adam?? (Just kidding) Rest of us working folk would love to go there matey unfortunatley my factories need to keep churning out soap for the great unwashed! Put up some pics so we can see what we are missing out on?
  15. Thanks Matey will do appreciate it Reet next job get 900bhp from carrot juice and chilli powder!
  16. We were looking at the pictures of it the other night coincidentally - I thought mine had the bum the size of beyonce's ar** but the new one looks like Beyonce's been on the pies in Wigan Nissan could do with employing a few children to redesign it so it looks nice!
  17. When I first looked at the units - I checked the wiring and what bodge job had been done - they wired in the H7 holder into the old wiring loom with those crappy crimp on connectors that break into the wire? I used Stew's bulbs in both sides and checked with both bulbs on each headlamp and neither worked ? I did think it was strange that both sides should go thought about fuses but then the H7 would'nt work as they use the same wiring and switch etc but it was a rush job and it was gettgin dark -priority was a set of bulbs that worked - so maybe your right? The H7's I got are Ring high power ones and they are very bright indeed but they need to divert the beam to the front and less to the side - I noticed on the proper bulbs they have a metal strip either side - probably to help divert the light - oh well thats the next job - Will get the H7's working better and re-test the original wiring... when cash allows get them back in? Still think the headlights are pants a bogo Fiesta has better lights!
  18. Thanks Chris . The ballasts are still there but both not working. The thing I have noticed is with the H7? bulb that is fitted the light is wasted too much by going to the side and hence lights up the kerb well but not enough going through the convex lens so idea is to shield sides of bulb hence diverting the light. On mine the lamp is totally shieded so Nissan must have come to same conclusion !!!! lets see how this goes ....
  19. Finally got round to rewiring one of the reversing lights to a fog light as requested a few months ago - easy peasy indeed - thanks especially to Marzman for advice on this sort of work - removed O/S tail light - easy... Removed bulb holder and chopped wire back - wired in fog ligh switch to it and Bobs yer Auntie - a foglight ! Covered bulb in Red polyester film (I use this for leaded windows work) and 1 fog light! Surprised how simple it was - but was worried I would have to remove rear bumper - which looked like a dog of a job! Even adjusted the handbrake (again a forum advice special) so easy! Just wanted to say thanks to the forum for advice on these things - makes owning the car a joy when you can do this kind of work yourself! Next job sort the bodge headlights... I have an idea on how to make them brighter - watch this space! PS Blackfire wax still king managed to wash cars after a few months and they came up pristine and easy to wash the muck - that stuff really is the dogs!
  20. I used to work for a famous high street broker - golden rule - never take an insurance policy out via direct debit - pay via the full amount (even as mentioned its on a credit card) they have many sneaky get out clauses ... be careful! Also some unscrupulous sharks take out 13 months via direct debit - apologise only if you have noticed it and then take a few weeks to return your money - in the meantime they have made interest on your money! multiply that by x number of times - its easy money!
  21. Trust you lot to mention underwear ! Would be nice to test Gtr I agree but not much call for that at local stealers more like micras and cashcows ...... let you know how I get on with a 370z .....
  22. Received a letter from Westway Nissan today - I almost coughed up my breakfast with the laughter! Wait for it - if you buy any new or used Nissan from them - they will give you £150 off the price! Wowsers! So lets see I decide to purchase the new 370Z so thats a £30K car - and we get a generous £150 off - fantastic! Oh I cant wait for April now so I can rush off to their show room voucher in hand! 370 here I come! Bonus is a £5 M&S voucher if you take a test drive - cool will drive the 370 when it turns up - but hang on ??? What can you buy from M&S thats £5 or less these days? Any suggestions?
  23. Wow!!! You Geeks! Now fit that into your Zed
  24. This is a little unnerving? Are Nissan using common or garden owners as long running testers? Surely they do at least bench testing to destruction or have test mules well before the engine see's its final destination in a specific model? What if they have found a potential issue with the new 370 engine and are cross checking back to the older engines to see if there is a common fault? (Can you tell I am an X files fan!) Tempting offer though?
