  1. what about this one - keeping in the family fold so to speak! Only £750 with MOT + Tax! http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C69357#
  2. Looks like an opportunity to have a new forum Calendar - owners and their driving positions! Get everyone to take pictures of how they sit in the Zed!
  3. Hmm same arguments over and over - comes down to the following basics I think? Both use the same hardware underneath (Apple look pretty) If your into your graphics/photos/web design etc - Apple is your friend If you want cheap readily available software and many years of geeks playing with it - Windows is for you (Although expect to reboot once in a while) As far as interfaces are concerned everyone I know with an Apple pc think they are excellent Everyone I know who has Windows(including me) thinks its clunky and pants! You could go Lunux instead and run more or less anything else on top you like Word etc etc , less resource hungry and quick but you need your geek hat on! Best way is to actually try them out first hand and see what your feeling better with? Hardware wise - Zedrushes machine sounds like a Zed of the PC world - but you pay your money for that - and as mentioned on other posts no point in getting something you will never use - so Processor power, memory and hard disk storage I would say are your priorities? Building your own pc is the best way to get what you want and keep costs down (mate has done that) but you need a certain level of knowledge but there are plenty of PC computer geek mags around with that sort of info Get a copy of What PC and read the reviews - or look online http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/latest/ Hope this helps?
  4. I spend about 13 hours a week in mine on the motorways and no problems? Leather seats nice and firm - ensure your backrest is fairly straight so your not straining your lower spine and that your legs have the stress taken off them by the seat base - unfortunately there is no easy solution you have to just try different positions but dont keep changing them too often your body needs time to adjust to it? As an aside do you drive any other car or just this? If so I you will get some backache as your changing from car to car - I get this in the van sometimes? Just a thought?
  5. I think the motor mechanism will be in the mirror body and a static gear inside the bracket that mounts to the body - hence just concentrate on the mirror body? From memory there are a couple of screws underneath the mirror - start with those first ? Good luck - I think I will be doing the same thiing this weekend if I get time but a photo guide would be really useful to us?
  6. Forgot about this place - soemone at work has an appartment there - Bulgaria is in the Euro but still using their own currency still so the exchange rate is good I beleive? Worth a shot - plus inside info is that business is slow so there may be some good deals out there? http://www.gotobansko.com/
  7. Oh what a cute fat dumpling that is ...... Ditch the doors and the red tyres and its would be ok - does look a bit on the portly side but not bad really...... in a nice single colour and no stripes?
  8. Thanks Mart will check on tinternet for location. Hope the exchange rate improves before then?
  9. Top stuff folks Chalet.... Mart.... Chalet ..... Only problem with Spain are the drivers are'nt they and us in a shiny Zed (easy prey for waggons!) We are actually considering taking the van instead (fit more wine in the back!) but the lack of aircon and no removable roof does'nt make this option less attractive shall we say!
  10. - thats just mean! In that case you will have to pop down again with Jayne and we will have to finish off that mexican /french beer
  11. Thanks Gentlemen Discerning does'nt enter into it mate - its more like basics! i,e heat, clean, dry, no mould, or sick round the toilet rim!! Thanks Beavis will check out Peireguers looks very nice indeed? Stew - funny you should mention that area, we were looking around Bordeaux last night - we had the same idea about popping over to Spain - just wondering about the drive down there - its a 2 day job is'nt it? So maybe week 1 down there and the second week more up North so closer to the ferry? ( I dunno Loiure valley) Hmm ok will do more research tonight - please keep those ideas rolling in. One thing the ferries are cheap at the mo - we can get a return sailing for £86! Thanks I can taste the wine already...
  12. You swine!! We are scarred for life after that in fact we stopped looking at the Gites of France website as we had scary flashbacks everytime we saw something resembling a Chalet!! Thanks Beavis I know what you mean about the Vendee region - camped there 2 years ago (first trip driving in France) so fancied somewhere else (sorry should have mentioned)
  13. Hi folks We are thinking of a nice Zed holiday en France this summer. So after spending many a frustrated hour on t'internet thought I would ask the pro's... Can anyone recommend a nice part of France for a relaxing holiday with sight seeing (not a beach holiday) with the following nice to haves: Self catering Gite (with outside space and not too near the great unwashed) Nice quiet rural location to stay? (for 2 people + Zed) Not too far from a town so we can wander over and sample the wine and local produce without driving? Things to do and see in the area (eg architechture/castles/beaches) Prepared to drive south as far as Bordeaux 2 locations 1 week in each Not Normandy or Paris Thanks in advance? P.S. If your really unlucky I will write another guide with lots of pictures on return!
  14. sorry stew ...... you seen lots of pics of me looking like a muppet ......at least your photogenic !!! grey slip on shoes will make a come back mark my words!!! think we drank enough at the weekend to cover your birthday ......enjoy your evening matey
  15. Oh bless look at this wee loon - butter would'nt melt! Sorry Stew (could'nt help myself!) (But you have seem my 1980's pics - grey slip on shoes and white socks big hair!)
  16. Ouch! kidney stones.... had them on second day of french holiday not nice....subject to your health and umpteen blood tests they can just give you an injection to disolve them or laser them? Its fairly painless really but you keep going for pee's all the time! suggest you ease off the whiskey and drink lots of water Mart? hope your feeling better soon
  17. Ok Stew .... here is me looking like Lee Evans (wingnut ears!!) Here is Stew wondering about a few bottles of Sake for breakfast
  18. Here he is ........ Never drink with a Scotsman!
  19. HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEW Hope you have a good one - 26!! Is that all ..................... wish I was 26 again sniff sniff Jayne will no doubt surprise you with a nice pressie?
  20. Nice one Adam la thuile - oh yes top place indeed my first skiing trip and ski lessons! It was -32 when I went the sort of temperature you dont know your nose is running constantly ! Best bit is popping over the top to France .. value for money eh - 2 countries!!
  21. Was always told Bulgaria was supposed to be very good? Only Been to France and Austria - both were expensive Failing that there is the new Chillfactor outside Manchester ? http://www.chillfactore.com/main/Home
  22. I agree with you the TT is just well too corporate and boring for me (old shape made a better impact !) Caymen well not really that interesting for me - although probably a great car dont get me wrong? The 370 will lose money big stylie as its the wrong badge. Me probably like most people on this forum like the fact that its not a car with a posh badge we aint no badge snobs! If I get in an invite I will sneak my camera gear in (do you think they will notice the tripod , flash and lenses etc )- cant sneak them down my trousers can I!! Hey maybe I can go round kicking its tyres, sharp intake of breath etc etc ... Chris yes your right Zeds are not the most expensive cars to run and buy and yes Astons and Porkers will cost the earth but if you go down the specialist garage route you may be able to offset the costs a little. I have no intention of getting an Aston I dont have that spare cash I was merely trying to point out that for £30K there is an awful lot of nice tin out there .... especially now under the current climate? Upmarket cars are cheaper , frugal tin boxes are holding their own but in a recent classic car mag it seems that Classics are making a come back - again the bread and butter cars pre 1973 are actually in demand again - tax free and sub £100 insurance, cheap and easy self servicing etc etc funny old world eh? Oh well ....... lets see what happens in April then when the first shipment comes in... do you think that Blue colour will be the press release colour that everyone will buy?
  23. As far as I can see it has a bit more go (and mines a roadster) compared to the previous model - just enjoy it! It feels solid enough but the exhaust note seems louder than the earlier cars?
