  1. Apparently Uncle Mart is in a bit of a bad way - his cat (which I am told is 6 foot and likes Pies, pints and small children as snacks) has beaten him up because hechanged his brand of pies and ran out of local kids to feed him! Soooo he is poorly unwell and all he has is probably some chav daytime telly and this forum - we can't do anything about the telly but we can on the forum so keep him amused and post some funny posts up to take his mind of the pain!
  2. Come on Stan we don't talk about your private life on this forum i dont uncle beavis but every buga else does! anyway we should be more concerned about uncle mart sounds like he is in a bad way? that cat must be 6ft and eat babies for breakfast!!!!!!!
  3. Ok I have to join in this chat! I also had a similar wobble with the roof a week after car was serviced. I had not dropped the roof for a few weeks due to endless rain but the roof stopped about the same spot as yours (mines '07) Bit of a worry as I was sat at traffic lights - a flick of the close button - it dithered but closed. 2 things here before all the softtop owners rush off to Nissan. On the rear lower metal frame that bends round and you see some bearings run across it and slide down as the roof closes - sorry hard to explain without pictures but I think these are covered normally with white silicon grease - and I have seen them run a bit sticky shall we say from when I purchased the car - I keep saying I will grease them but have been too lazy/busy at the mo - I suggest you all go off and check this rail - its the bottom rail that the fabric folds round and rests on the rear deck area. Thats where I think the most resistance is in the folding roof mechanism. Secondly if you dont have the roof down for a long period the fabric will stiffen up especially this time of year. Never but never fold the roof when the roof is wet! When the roof dries it shrinks and pulls tight on the frame thus giving more resistance. Like with aircon you have use it once in a while. So open and close the roof to keep things from seizing - just like human beings! Keep moving folks! In a few years time yes the mechanism will need to be checked for loose bolts etc but unless you open and close your roof 50 times per day it should outlive the car ! So please dont worry. BTW mine has been fine ever since. One last thing do not touch any other switch the same time as you open or close the roof - as it interupts the power and stops it mid flow! Probably yet another over the top safety feature - thank you Nissan! Another last thing - forget Nissan - go to a Trimmer he will be able to figure out the roof mechanism if he is worth his salt and you dont need a new roof ! Fabric for this roof like any other can be easily replaced /replicated - its aint rocket science - remember its still has to be put together in a factory by humans .
  4. to the club - hope to see you at one of the club meets? - lot of Zed chaps in the borders Looking forward to the next Glasgow meet (luke??)

    New Scirocco

Seen a white one knocking round Bury recently - and well I'd rather have a 370Z - there...... thats how bad the Fugly thing looks! Its just got no soul at all - at least the original was light and cool - this thing is just Boring and bland like the rest of the VW range (Former VW nut) nothing other that the Transporter van is well anything to write home about! Whilst on the subject why have a Passat Coupe whats all that about??
  6. One more - at an indecent hour this morning before the fun began!
  7. Yes your right although I did discover that reversing a Zed in the snow you get a load more traction - just muppets behind me see you sliding about I get out and tell them I am reversing and they just sit there gawping at you! Suppose this is a light dusting compared to Stew's neighbourhood?
  8. I love my heated seats and quick warm up - plus intermittent problem with van electrics so not keen on driving to Wales in it however it potentially is saving my proverbial bacon! Front wheel drive
  9. Had a run in with the cat, the cat won. It did cheat though and used a metal bed frame. I thought you 2 had given up playing those kind of grewn up games - I dunno blaming it on the cat!! Hope your better soon Mart?
  10. Tasteful! I love those parking sensors - imaging cropping up pedestrians with those - if you cant park a Zed and you need whiskers like those you should'nt be driving and in fact you need to be locked up with such shoddy styling! Love the fake Lake pipe type exhausts! Oh where is the A Team van and the Suzuki Vitara in Pink? (Off Camera?)
  11. The standard kit lenses are generally good but limited sometimes in scope. Get yourself a cheeky little 75-300mm Zoom (If Nikon do that range?) gives you more flexibilty. For Ice hockey you can use that long lense and get the speed /motion effect action quite nicely? I guess its got a sport mode, or just lower shutter setting to get the effect of movement. Try to stick with the manufacturers lenses they will cost a fortune but are generally better quality than aftermarket?
  12. Someone had to post a snow thread today - might as well be me! Left house at 06:30 - still on the estate at 07:00 - cant get out - the Zed just could'nt get anywhere with a mild slope! Bury council as usual have not gritted anywhere even the main roads! Turned the ESR off - damn thing kept stopping me from making any progress - just too much power and not enough grip! Great for drifting but not in snow drifts! Had to reverse back home and go in the van - van much better no drifting but cold and then stuck in traffic, accident on M60 - so ended up back home 09:20 - nearly 3 hours to travel 2 miles! Best thing was watching BMW 5 series owners sliding about and beaching on mini roundabouts! Are'nt people great - they still try to drive in snow like they do in summer and wonder why they are driving sideways! Muppets! High gear , medium revs! Easy - but not in a Zed! Some pictures to follow later on....
  13. +1 Strongly agree on that one - when are you ever going to print that picture full size! i.e about the size of your wall!! Go for it - supposed to be a good camera
  14. Top stuff mate - maybe they will give you a new 370Z in the new year to borrow for a weekends fun !

Blimey congrats to all those having babies - just think get them trained up early so they can get their little fingers in to replace those bulbs in the rear bumper Poor Mart - Apples and Oranges and Tankers? Hmm wonder which part of Lapland that Father Xmas is from?? This Xmas I will mostly be trying to pay off my Credit card But looking forward to Xmas and 2009
