  1. Yup. Just wait for comments from your neighbours like "you do know thats an exhuaust your polishing" (I got that from my neighbbour who was impressed he waxed his H reg banger with 39p furniture wax ) Dont get me going on that, when i washed the car up at Sarah's place, her neighbour asked why i was cleaning everything, even in the wheel arches and inside the tail pipes. Some people have no idea... If that was Blackfire furniture wax it would be more like £39!!! but at least would look good and last! At least he was'nt using Fairy liquid! As an aside in my Trade Secrets book - it mentions - never use polishing compound to remove scratchs from paintwork as your actually polishing the paint around the scratch to the same level - hmm but they dont tell you what to do instead? Fill the scratch with Lard maybe?
  2. I am always getting sent up on this forum! We will both be there virtually I think well definitely in spirit
  3. Indeed it looks that way - got a club cap and fleece the other day - will keep me warm while washing the Zed ! Although fitting kitchen this weekend so still not going to get opportunity to wash the poor little fella! At least its not Interlagos fire coloured - it would look 10 times worse covered in road poo than mine !
  4. Thanks Gentlemen for the foam advice - hmm looks like I may be buying yet more car care product very soon!
  5. Ok I think this thread is getting out of hand!! Whats the foam you use btw? Is it safe for use on softtops and how is it applied? via Karcher??
  6. They look great Look forward to seeing the results. In a similar vein a mate of mine did a cheap version of this mod on his Golf GTi a few years ago. He took out the original dials scanned them in his kids scanner - used Photoshop to change the colour of the background and numbers etc etc - printed it off on his colour printer and stuck them back in - I have to say for a cheap job they looked the dogs would'nt know they were home made! Obviously not as nice as the real thing above but worth considering?
  7. to the club matey - nice car and very nice wheels (I want some!) Hope you can get an opportunity to find out how those mods do their magic at the club meets
  8. Your on! Will need Ajax I think by then!
  9. to the forum - hope you managed to sleep after the intial excitement! Hope to see you in the club meets Nice motor btw
  10. I will start a seperate thread for hairdrier and convertible owners news! (Btw Beavis got my DC01 for the car also - they are made for them!) Thanks Mike - but it would take me longer than my lunch hour to get to Wrexham wash and then back to work - they are mean here when it comes to lunch times! But thanks for the offer Just had a nice open top run out in the freezing sunshine - niiiiicccccceee
  11. I got one when they came out - it was like a revelation after my hoover which just pushed dirt about!! Oooh I am sooo sad! got the DC04 now - Whoooosh GT-R of vacs!
  12. Thanks for that Nic - yup its more aero dynamic now with all that oil from leaking cars all over it - slip through the air stream! Sunsetzed thought you were going to offer to nip up to Wales and wash it for me!!! Chris I cant use my expensive hair shampoo on the car - blimey I am not gay you know! (even though I like fiat 500's!!) I have just done a search for jetwashes around the local area - hmmm not looking good so far....
  13. Ha ha I decided not to make any applicance comments - but there is an evil looking Dyson DC01 vac lurking in the background very near his wing!
  14. Only 400+ miles from me and you did'nt call me!
  15. think we need an emergency bottle of fairy liquid (oops sorry thats the competition - erm I mean Persil!)
  16. yikes you had me worried there for a sec! Oh well the van looks just as bad and thats white!!! Safety in numbers!
  17. Stew this should'nt this be a wee meet not a mini meet! I could have sent you emergency cakes in the post if I'd had known!
  18. dont think Mike and Bec would be too happy ifI just turned up!! Stew do you recon I could use shaving foam will that do the same job? Yup got flood lights on the house and garage - have to keep moving about as they go out after a bit - he he he I could do strickly come washing ! I could just leave it till it gets crusty mud on it - then get some old Mini Italian Job fogs for the front - some donuts for tyres and off I go - up the muddy lanes of Bury across t'hills! Gee thanks Beavis- thats really nice of you - and you have my wheels I so want too - you swine!!!
  19. Yup fraid so my friend at least the inside is still clean May have to get the flood light out and really show the neighbours how obsessed I am about cleaning Zeds !!
  20. So its been 3 weeks now since I got a chance to wash the Zed - its killing me that I cant! Too busy with working at the weekends and by the time I get home mid week its pitch black !! Damn this weather! 3 weeks and 2K miles of road grime on it - that Blackfire wax better be protecting it!! The wheels - damn it the wheels are just disgusting! I am getting so desperate I am even considering a wash and wax pressure wash at lunch - anyone St Davids park way can recommend somewhere nearby - no way am I taking it to a car wash - manual or otherwise!!! Now it looks worse than this taken last Friday - its got designer road dirt stripes on the bonnet!

Z indicator a nice touch but hardly earth shattering - hmm that convertible does look a bit better but (I guess its a photoshop mock up) the boot looks a bit odd - and the seats before the rear scoops look a bit erm well -have you seen those yogurt pots with the protruding lip on the top where you peel the foil off!! Ditch the lights man they are already dating as we speak!! Damn it even the Yanks can make a nice retro car!
  22. Like the 500, in boggo mode (without the horrible glass roof though and Pizza delivery stripes) and Abarth one looks fun! Charger looked the dogs until I saw the back of it - not too impressed with the rear light cluster - looked a bit old Nissan 200Sx like - not its best feature! Otherwise a very good retro attempt better looking than the Mustang, but interior looked very 300C - i.e cheap plastic - shame. Funny how the new amercian cars are harking back to the good old days when they used to make good looking stylish cars and not the rubbish they come out with now? eg Cadillac!
  23. Heated seats my friend Naa I just open the door and let the water drain out! Its glorous sunshine here folks - best weather for ragtop owners cold but dry ! PS its Night Brown - bit like Night Blue...
