  1. The Octet Triangle I hope being chased down by an AMG merc & a pocket rocket from Stuttgart
  2. Doubt Alex will ever talk about his own prices on the public forum
  3. Talk about crashing someones FS thread If the seller wants to advertise something for a said value & you think it's to much, then simply click away or PM. If the right buyer comes along & is willing to pay the advertised price then thats upto them. I personally think some of the traders on here sell parts & services at a much higher price than I'd be willing to pay for but I don't go crashing their threads saying what I think they should sell for. Perhaps a MOD could remove some of the above posts??
  4. They are going to look awesome with your wheels
  5. But saying that I'm sure the EVO would be interesting in the porker too
  6. Hoping to get to Lakez if it does all come together Mark and I are going up Friday morning. (after a greasy spoon of course) If you want to do it in two stints. The guest room is available,if you want it. If I'm going in the 240 it would be rude not to pop by yours & do a few laps of the evo with Liam , then see my GF in the cafe & of course have a catch up with you & Steph
  7. It's going to the paint shop (not my garage) once the prep is done, wouldn't mind giving it a go myself but that would probably result in more time required for flat polishing
  8. Hoping to get to Lakez if it does all come together
  9. The blocking out of the detail line was trial & error, but found running a line of masking tape on the area you don't want to sand the best way, trouble is you need to remove it, wipe the panel down & replace after every couple of passes, whilst also trying to maintain the shape of the panel. I take my hat off to anyone that works in a Bodyshop.
  10. Started with the car freshly primed Then masked of where I wanted the detail line, followed by a quick dry guide coat Then blocked back Swapped the tape round for the lower section Initial block back after guide coat shows a low spot, so depending how much primer is applied can either block the rest of the panel back or add more primer to the low point Confident that there was plenty of primer, another coat of guide coat was applied Shows any imperfections in the paint levels A quick skim over with a 320 block Notice the darker spots highlighting the low spots Then blocked back level Shaped blocks out Found one to fit the shape of the arch Find a suitable pad Then blocked back to an even shape Looks easy but takes ages & is not easy getting the larger areas level
  11. Well as you mention it I actually took the time to take some photos to make a guide to guide coating today
  12. Ahh bugger, looks like I have cocked this one up then
  13. Padding around   Well I've been looking at hundreds of photos online & there are very few cars which have all aligned panels, so if I can get a few of them lined up I'll be happy
  14. Well tonights update: A soft start with some flatting down on the boot shut Then got the right hand side blocked back to enhance the line, then masked up for another coat of primer Then primed Line is looking good now & the panels are level Hopefully I'll be able to get both sides blocked back to a good shape by the end of the weekend
  15. If you have oil on the catalytic converter it will take a while to burn off (not sure if it will damage it) & unlikely to clear at idle as the temps will be much lower. If there is no loss of power it just go for a longish drive, hope it clears & stop worrying about it after you check the oil level to ensure no loss of oil
  16. You have just answered your own problem, When you removed your old oily plugs you have released a pool of oil I tot he combustion chamber which hopefully wasn't enough to compress & bend your rods on first atartup (I doubt it as it probably would have locked on the starter) Now all the oil that has drained down is burning off on your headers & cats! This should probably clear after a while but don't go Hooning it until it clears
  17. I do like a zed but would choose the E-type :imsorry:
  18. Almost got my line back tonight, then gave the whole side another heavy coat of primer so I can cut in the line properly & hopefully get a final level Thanks for the positive replies
  19. Hmm getting there? There's so much more to think about doing. Bumpers, all the fixtures & fittings then there is the flat polishing of the paint when it's done, which is scaring the 💩 outta me. I said to my painter that he can flat polish it if he can't lay the paint on perfect & he laughed at me
  20. I had a similar package arrive last year labeled Darren Scrooge wrapped in Xmas paper. Kinda hoping for a radical shaped package to arrive this year

    M3 powered 240z

I'm pretty sure this is the car on the right that was at ace cafe last year, sc'd e46 m3 motor
  22. I believe this doesn't help the situation ....... Wandering if mine will fit on my 50? Looks to be quite a bit of room on mine ........ There are no additional coolers up front on the AT cars. The transmission cooler is integrated into the radiator so takes up no more space than on a MT car
