    New Shed

So i picked up a new shed this week.... i've bought it off my boss at work who's just bought an A5. He was going to trade it in, so i just offered him £100 more than his trade in value which he accepted. 55-Plate Ford Focus Sport, 3-door 1.6 Petrol, 99k miles. No tax or MOT. This morning i've swapped the discs and pads on the front, ordered a part-worn tyre, and replaced a faulty headlight bulb. That should all see it through the MOT. There are a few minor dents on the rear quarter which i'll fix (or get fixed - i've never done any bodywork before but interested in giving it a go!). Also needs a service which i'll do, and the whole engine bay could use a steam clean. I cant decide whether to keep it or sell it. I think it's worth between £3 and 3.5k... what do you think? I only paid £1250 for it, but will be £1750 into it by the time its finished. My aim this year is to get a current shape C-Class Mercedes (whilst keeping the Zed) so i might put the profit from selling this toward that. Please ignore the wheels on my zed... they're only on it for Winter.
  4. Its only this last 2 weeks that its gone flat. I was starting it every 3 days up until last week when it didnt start. Might nip out this afternoon and get a charger.
  5. Hi guys, So my Zed is declared SORN and im not going to be driving it for at least another month. The battery is flat (as it is every winter - its fine in summer when in use). However i needed my wheel brace out of the boot this morning so i unlocked it and opened the door... and then i could hear a relay clicking constantly under the bonnet, and the lights trying their best to flash! The clicking stopped after about 10 mins, but now my front and rear lights are stuck on permanently! I've got no problem leaving them on and letting them drain the battery, but was wondering if this is something more sinister, such as the BCM being on its way out? Any thoughts guys?
  6. Same, JDM, UK Pods, just dashes for a clock. My aftermarket headunit has a clock on it so not bothered.

    F&F6 GTR-35

Reminds me of the Pininfarina-designed Fiat Coupe
  10. +1 and all BMW's were better in the 90's/early 2000's but very uninspiring nowadays.
  11.
  12. Not sure... i got a new 4S work phone this week, having upgraded from a 3GS so you might be right.
  13. Looks like the end of a cheap spanner.
  14. Sadly it does.... currently SORN'd until 1st March. I take my Volks off over winter and and fit stock 18's, and im just too embarrassed to drive it Will have to organise a meet for the spring though.

    LED Reflectors

So this might be a bit to some of you as i've had a few goes at doing this before, but last night i made a new set of LED reflectors. In the past when i've made these i used quite small LED's and didnt use any holders, but i've made this set using 8mm LEDs and some slim bulb holders. Im really pleased with how they've turned out.... although no fitted pics. It'll be late Feb before i fit them probably as my zed is SORN'd until March. I've got no plans to start selling these as it just takes too long... Its about 3-4 hours work per pair.... the measuring and drilling takes most of that time, the soldering is the easy bit. Here's some pics:
  16. Hopefully this is not a repost... i've had a search and cant find any discussion on it. I found an App on the App store yesterday called 'Action Cam' which will overlay your speed and G-Force onto a video, so if you're on a track day and have a windscreen mount, it will make for some pretty interesting videos I had a quick Youtube seatch and cant find any vids of it in use on track, but there was someone using it on the road to give you the idea.
  17. What drop is that on the rear?? It looks very low.
  18. Looks great. Much prefer the JDM rear.
  19. Reversing aids? Bit late now, you should have worn a nodder. ...but how can you keep bumping into things?? Just have a look around either before you make your maneuver, or before you get in the car at what your potential obstacles are - then nothing will surprise you.
  20. How did it look before? Both my zeds have had cubby lids like that, and i always see people talking about it on here but i dont know what the other type looks like?
  21. Treated myself to a couple of Diecast models last night. I've always wanted one of these but they're usually so expensive. There is a shop called Model Zone in the Trafford Center and they have the 1:32 scale diecasts for between £60 and £100. However yesterday they had a big sale on and had some of the cheaper Burago models available... and i got a pair for only £20! The detail on them is superb, and i spent a long time looking at the more expensive counterparts and i honestly can see no difference.
  22. If this happened to my car it would be like the movie Taken. I would be doing a liam neeson driving around all the crappy areas of town to find out who did it, and then i would set fire to them when i found them.
  23. Paint them yourself. I did my winter wheels myself for about 40 quid in materials. Okay you might need a spare set of wheels while you paint them, but got to be easier than finding someone with the wheels you want, who is willing to swap. Worst case scenario is you balls it up and then get a refurb anyway, and you're only out £40. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/53825-fitted-newly-sprayed-winter-wheels/page__hl__wheels
  24. +1. There will be sessions for mixed cars during the day - this should be kept to zeds only in my opinion.
