  1. So.... is it a case of what goes on tour stays on tour, or can you tell us how it went?
  2. Yep just watched it. Winds me up with all the ego's on show.... just get the damn job done! That Sophie (Chinese one) was right up my street...
  3. I had an auto before my current car and it felt just as quick as the manual. I would say that because it's a normally aspirated engine and the power delivery is very linear, you will be going quicker than the Scooby but it will feel more pedestrian as there's no sudden torque improvement.
  4. I've been doing exactly the same mate Checking it works everytime I've parked up too, had some odd looks from people as they watch on at me making it go in and out, half way out, make it go flat but not in...all sorts of combos Maybe you could do a guide for those with the standard bumber? It will be without pics Ha ha... yep the combos, exactly the same.
  5. Thanks for the comments guys... I've had to park my car facing the other way on the drive today... I was getting up every 5 minutes and retracting it while looking out of the window last night.
  6. I like that... not sure i've ever seen one?
  7. Do they make a Jaaaaag MPV? Congrats matey.
  8. So i managed to fit my motorised number plate holder yesterday. Very happy with it. (Cheers Tarmac ). Guide to be added shortly but his a quick video for now: Okay here's the guide. To be honest it's a custom job to fit this rather than a direct bolt-on. It took me about 4-5 hours to fit but i was taking my time. Tools needed: Angle Grinder 10mm socket Screwdrivers Drill Metal drill bit Jigsaw Additional Materials: Metal bracketing Self tapping screws Small nuts and bolts. Pro-tip: Use an electric drill battery to operate the plate holder when fitting, before you've wired it up. First things first... with the bumper still on decide, where you want the plate to sit. With the Nismo bumper my only option was to have it sit in the lower opening. I made a note of the approximate height off the ground that this would sit. Next you need to remove the front bumper. This is an easy task and you can follow one of the guides from on here. I've done this countless times before and it can be done in around 15 minutes. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/48292-face-off-front-bumper-removal/page__hl__%2Bbumper+%2Bremoval After this you must decide what to mount the number plate on. Our best option on the zed is to use the large crash bar and suspend it from brackets to the height we need. Out of the box it comes with only 1 metal bracket but we need more than this, so i picked up an extra bracket from Wickes for £1.18. I cut this in half using the angle grinder. http://www.wickes.co.uk/content/ebiz/wickes/invt/156722/Herringbone-Joist-Strut_large.jpg The next step is to work out how long i need the brackets to be. Using some cardboard taped to the crash bar, I offered up the plate holder to the approx height from the floor measured earlier (11.5" in my case) and then cut the cardboard to the length required. And then using this i had a template for the length of my brackets. I measured the center point on the crash bar using the tow hole as the center line and then attached the rear hanger which i bent to shape using the self tapping screws that i'd bought separately. After this I mounted the plate holder on the rear bracket and worked out the height of the front brackets. I used he two halves of the bracket i'd purchased separately and bent them to shape. Note that they're only mounted half way up the crash bar - when the polystyrene filler is fitted it sits flush against the top half of the crash barrier. This stage takes the longest to do as you must use a spirit level to ensure it's level in all directions. I also replaced the bumper on the car several times to ensure the positioning was correct. Notice that i also cut out a piece from each bracket to make sure the towing eye can still be fitted. (I did straighten the plate holder up before i firmly attached everything!) After this i refitted my bumper mesh and cut a hole the width of my plate using snips. Now the final stage before fitting the bumper is to wire it up. This is very simple and only needs connecting to the positive and negative terminals on the battery. I routed the cables down the left hand side of the engine bay and under the passenger headlight. I used number plate tape to secure the control unit to the back side of the crash bar. After this, give it a quick test to make sure it's working, and then refit the bumper. The final stage was to cut the holder down to size. I did this whilst it was mounted on the car using a Jigsaw, and a dremmel to tidy it up. I'd had enough by this point so rushed it. The final step then was to secure my plate using number plate tape. And job done.
  9. Search for Greekman's clutch issues on here... he's gone through about 4 master/slave replacements on the HR i believe. He may have ended up with some uprated parts from ZMANALEX in the end to stop the problem. I might be making that up but thats what i'd be searching for if it were my car.
  10. Shiiiiit. So i drove a colleague's Range Rover Sport today and it's a game changer.... i need one.
  11. Leads put back on the plugs in the wrong order.
  12. Google! Dimensions W/O stand (W x H x D) 929 x 596 x 105 mm Dimensions with stand (W x H x D) 929 x 639 x 334 mm http://www.amazon.co.uk/Panasonic-TX-P37X10B-37-inch-Widescreen-Freeview/dp/tech-data/B001TUYUT2
  13. Sorry guys i didnt get to fit this last week as the weather was a bit crappy, but i will definitely be fitting it this weekend. Having had a look through my bumper it's looking like i'll need to drill into the crash bar behind the bumper and add in some additional bracketing to get it to the right height. It comes with one strip of lightweight bracket and im not sure this will be enough, so i might need to get an extra bit from B&Q to secure it. We'll see....
  14. Ticket/passes to stand posted session info picked up on day If you bother to look at post 379 you will see you are in the 2pm session Ok fair one, but mods/martin it might be worth having a locked thread with just this kind of pertinent information in it, as this info is 60-odd posts back from here and i dip into this thread every time i see it.
  15. f*ck f*ck f*ck f*ck f*ck f*ckf*ck
  16. I've watched a lot of air crashes online, but that is probably the most chilling one i've ever seen. It literally just dropped out of the sky.
  17. Sorry but between the PM and the posts on here im not clear on what to expect I have track time booked. Will i be receiving the required docs for this in the post or am i collecting it on the day. Secondly please can i be put into the 2pm session if not already done so... i'll have been on the road since 3.30am the night before so im hoping to get away by 4pm in the afternoon. Cheers.
  18. Good shout. I remember last year there being talk of them stopping people with non-standard number plates so i fitted my stock one for the drive in and drive out.
  19. We were supposed to do the Staropramen brewery tour which is in Prague... but it was a 45 minute trip to get there for a 30minute tour so didnt bother.
  20. Dont change money befor eyou go, you will get spanked on the exchange rate. Just use a cash machine over there you get a much better deal, and yo uonly get charged £1.75 in fees per withdrawal. In the UK i only got 25.5 exchange rate, but out of the cash machines i got 29.3! Pints... anywhere on the main roads is £3.50 per pint (99k) but find some more authentic places off the main streets and you can get beer for 90p a pint. the standard drink over there is Pilsner Urquell, which is a dreadful watered down lager... but we drank enough of it!
