  1. My god, that stuff was dreadful!! I dont know if it reacted with the wax that was already on the car or what, but my clean zed turned into a hideous, smudged dull mess when i applied it! I then went round the car with a bottle of water trying to get it off, but only some propper polish shorted it in the end.... cheers for the help guys! What was it you gave me?
  2. Yep I noticed that last night and had a chuckle.
  3. Cheers mate, i've been reading a worrying number of these horror stories. Looking into the AA breakdown warranty which is only £71 a year, and they give you 5x £500 claims per year. But you only have access to this if you have called them out for a breakdown or for homestart. I need to do some reading to see if it's any good.
  4. Yeh 108k miles, Diesel. Im not overly concerned by the mileage... i'll be doing about 8-10k a year in it so i should get at least 2 or 3 more years before it starts losing major money due to the mileage. There are loads for sale with 140k plus so i dont believe there are any questions about longevity. Also the rate of depreciation with these is scary, so buying right at the bottom of the market should limit my exposure to that. I honestly think this guy has under-priced this car... he paid £19k for it in Nov 2011 with 85k on the clock and im giving him £13.5k. It's got a full landrover service history and compared to others i've been looking at i think this car could be worth up to £15k. The tell tale is that the guy said it had only been for sale for 1 day when i got in touch!
  5. Agree... it had to be a black one. Nope... the Zed's going nowhere!!!! Im never selling it!
  6. What spec is the car? Does it have leather and Brembos? If not then it may be as low as £4500.
  7. So my track video is uploading to Youtube... its an estimated 4 hours until it's complete Here's my pics though.
  8. Thanks fellas, im really pleased with what i've seen of it, and as you say Taddy, it does appear to be a bit of a bargain. To be honest i wasnt in the mood for going to Japfest once i'd seen the weather, but i absolutely loved it and im glad i did. It was great to see everyone again. Then similarly i thought about not bothering with the track session but im glad i did as it was absolutely great - most i've ever enjoyed a track session.... so after that i was thinking.... 'what do i need an RRS for, maybe i'll not bother going to see it'.... but i did and... im glad i did
  9. If Carlsberg made Saturdays.... So after a 3.30am start and a great day out at Japfest, i had an appointment to go and view a Range Rover Sport in the midlands on my way home. 45mins later i had agreed to buy it and paid a deposit I'll be picking it up one night in the week... very excited! ...and then whilst driving home i saw that City lost the cup final. GET IN  Here's some pics:
  10. Track footage I hope Chris? I may have a bit of it... not sure yet. Just uploading now. Hows your front wheel buddy? Yeh totally fine cheers, no after effects so it must just have been the excess rubber that i'd picked up making it wobble. Thanks for finding that wire stuck in my tyre afterwards too - that could have been a disaster waiting to happen
  11. Track footage I hope Chris? I may have a bit of it... not sure yet. Just uploading now.
  12. Im done... only a minor maintenance wash as i gave it a full detail the week before last. Also fitted my RareJDM Engine Cover which has been sat in my garage for a month. Also decided where to mount the go-pro... think im going for inside the car on the rear window.
  13. ...;and my wife-to-be is black so i'll definitely look like a dealer (it's not racist, im allowed to say it!)
  14. I'm going to see this at 4pm on the way home from Japfest tomorrow. It's going to be a loooong day for me! My money is sorted i just need to find the right car. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201305026569435/sort/default/usedcars/model/range_rover_sport/make/land_rover/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/postcode/sk102hx/page/1/quicksearch/true/radius/1500?logcode=p
  15. You can fit whatever sized plate you want - as long as you're willing to cut the plastic back plate to suit. I cut mine with a jigsaw and then neatened it with a dremmel.
  16. Great work mate. Takes some cojones to build up to a venture like this... im impressed.
  17. Meh, he told a lie. \still not as bad as burglary.
  18. I agree... you'd get less for burglary or mugging someone. How is speeding worse than that?
  19. I've never been on track in the wet... could be fun
  20. I know it's a common opinion to have... but why not? Have you ever driven one? The auto box is great, and the tiptronic is satisfying to use... if it wasnt for them being considered to be inferior (which they're definitely not) i would happily have another one. People above are saying the zed is effortless to drive... imagine you didnt have to operate the heavy clutch and clunky gearbox in traffic every day.
  21. Welcome mate. I had an auto previously and it was a lovely drive. It should be more reliable than the manual as there are no gearbox/clutch issues to worry about unlike the manual.... the auto's are essentially bulletproof. 52-reg cars are the earliest of the imports.... didnt come out in the UK until 03. Your budget appears to be a bit tight though, so be prepared to be buying an example that might need a bit of attention. Have you checked how much your insurance is going to be, as you might get a shock if you're young...
