  1. Is it just sandpaper and paint, or do you get some kind of filler with it too?
  2. I think you can do this as an experience day nowadays, kind of like the red letter day things.
  3. Ah Jay i went last weekend and all i can say is it was totally awesome!!!! One of the best weekends i've had in a long time. A few of the guys went to the strip clubs and sex shows etc, but i didnt fancy any of that so didnt bother. It's pretty hard to avoid though... as soon as it goes dark there will be 10 black guys fighting each other to get you to come to the strip club they're promoting. Friday and Saturday are big nights but Sunday is dead in town. Also whilst there i found the coolest bar i have ever been in. It's about a 10 minute walk from the center and kind of isolated in it's locatioin but it was a great place. We were looking for a sports bar called The Drunken Monkey but we got to the address and it wasnt there. So we went into the only bar on the street and a few of the guys were panicking as it was a proper back alley place, down in a basement. However once in there i got talking with the owner who was a guy called Jason from California... this guy was awesome! He told me the story of how he used to work for the Drunken Monkey and the owners went to prison so he took on their lease, but a few days earlier they'd got out and come after him and beat him up, and wrecked the bar a bit! Anyway, this guy's passion is Beer Pong so he sets us up on his beer pong tables and we ended up staying in there for 3 hours playing it... it's an ace game! Then for me as if this bar couldnt get any cooler i said to Jason... 'can i smell weed?' and he was like, 'Oh yeah, just go and speak to Mark the weed guy over there he'll sort you out'... brilliant! Music-wise it wasnt really my scene but it added to the over all effect - it was all Nirvana and ACDC and Foo Fighters etc. Loved it. Anyway this place was called Balls Deep in Prague... https://www.facebook...BALLSDEEPinPrag Other than that, it seems the main night club centrally is a crappy 80's/90's disco place called LaCerna. We went there on the Friday and it was alright, but then Saturday everywhere we asked still recommended the same place which was pretty lame. We went back but nobody was happy about it. Avoid if you can. Lastly we were recommended to go to another bar on the Sunday called Harley's bar. This was a bit of a biker bar but with a cool vibe. Slightly gay though too which was odd, but cool all the same. Food wise we mostly had burgers/kebabs etc, but one night we went to an all you can eat and drink Argentinian steak house for £20 a head. Really good quality meat and you get 3 hours in there so it worked out to be good value. I forget what it's called though.
  4. I'd really like an LPG, but at £2k to get fitted that's a big investment on a 100k plus car, and would take me 2 or 3 years to get it to pay for itself. In terms of buying an already LPG'd car, these seem to be £1500 dearer and i'd always be nervous about it.
  5. You're not helping!! I'd have to sell the zed in order to get a newer/better model though and i dont want to do that, so i've got to stick with the bag of nails option if i want one.
  6. Ill say it again, my Rangey costs me 45p a mile in fuel alone. Unless you have an oil well in the back garden the petrol V8's arent practical. Yup... pretty painful. For the miles i intend to do i cant justify throwing that money away.
  7. Okay - i've slept on it and changed my mind. Im not going to get it. I did my sums on the petrol vs the diesel last night and it's not pretty reading! It will cost me up to £50 out of my own pocket to go and visit some of my customers for work - even after i have received my fuel allowance! For example if i have to drive up to Glasgow, it will cost me £175 in fuel but i will only be paid £125. With a Diesel i will just about break even.
  8. Yep i've seen that white one on various sites, it looks pretty bad to be honest. I think i've probably made this silver one sound worse than it really is... like you say if the paperwork stacks up then it could be a good deal. I reckon there might even be some money in it if i tidy it up and return it to stock somewhat, as there are very few locally at this price point. It all depends on the mechanicals being sound... and to me the engine appeared to be spot on.
  9. Well... i feel kind of freaked out. Upon driving up i could see the car parked outside the guys house and it looked immense. Totally cool looking. I was kind of blown away when i first saw it. But then looking round it, it does need some attention. It needs a respray on the front bumper due to a lot of stone chips but worse still some lacquer peel. It has a single large key scratch on the passenger door. Then the window tints on the drivers window are peeling and need to be redone, the wheels need a refurb, and the interior could do with some tidying up as there are a few scratches etc. So overall condition wise i'd say it was a 6/10 and i'd say it needs around £850 spending on it to get it to a 9/10. However on the positive side the engine sounds immense, there's 8 months tax and 12 months MOT on it, it's had a lot of work done over the last couple of years (allegedly). The guy didnt have any receipts as he said he'd sent them all to his accountant for the end of the financial year, but he's going to ask for them to be posted back by the end of this week. So... at the moment im kind of in a strange place. My head says i shouldnt get this one but i really like the look of it. Okay it's probably a bit Katie Price with those wheels but i can live with that (and is the look i want to go for!) Price-wise, it's up at £8k but during the day i'd told him i was only prepared to pay around £7500 which he was okay with. But then whilst i was there and i was pointing out what work needed doing, he voluntarily dropped the price to £7300 which was a bit of a game changer for me. I was ready to walk until he said that. I left him saying that YES i would buy it - under the condition that i review and accept all of the paper work with it later this week which he said is absolutely fine. So i dont know how to feel really. It would help if i'd seen more examples... but even that one on Beach Lane which was £5k more needed some bodywork attention so maybe it's not that bad.
  10. So i'm going to view this tonight: http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201304276489623/sort/default/usedcars/price-from/7000/model/range_rover/make/land_rover/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/radius/10/page/1/postcode/sk102hx?logcode=p It's local to me and i've been emailing the guy... he's had it 5 years and its already had it's gearbox and air suspension replaced amongst other things. Its the 4.4l V8 Petrol though, when i wanted a diesel... so this will cost me about £1200 a year extra in fuel... ho hum.
  11. I like the way Cragus had his rims finished, using the same colour combo.
  12. Jesus! That is a size difference!
  13. I saw a white one parked up at the shops near me yesterday. I didnt know what it was at first so i pulled in to have a look. Really nice looking rear end but it may be a bit small i think.
  14. Agreed... come on mods who's accepting these posts
  15. Is that a genuine Nismo intake for the DE model car? Having googled it they appear to have 2 intake tubes, for what appears to be relocating the intake to the bottom of the engine bay? http://www.thenismoshop.com/Nismo-Factory-JDM-Cold-Air-Intake-CAI-16576-RNZ36--Nissan-350Z-2003--2006_p_162.html

This stinks of the 'cash for peers scandal'... watch out for a surprise new moderator in the near future. No seriously, fairplay to whoever it was - it's appreciated.
  17. I just spat my drink over the screen at that.
  18. Very nice. I've not been there but i've just booked my honeymoon in Mexico at the Karisma El Dorado Seaside Suites in Riviera Maya last week.
  19. The zed will drive itself along happily in traffic without me pressing any pedals as there's enough power from the engine to pull the car. If i drive the mrs' Fiesta, it will stall as soon as i get below 2mph and im not pressing the pedals as the engine isnt strong enough to pull it.
  20. No idea but perhaps it may work based on rolling radius'? It may detect a minor percentage difference on tolerable levels. The radius would be smaller if the tyre was losing air but the tpms would trigger and supercede this message. All just a theory.
  21. Looks okay. Just get a sharpie marker and colour it in. On another note, maybe consider a set of these in black to protect your rims and they may be fairly un-noticeable (if thats a word!) http://www.alloygator.co.uk/
  22. Mine arrived today - thanks Chris. Opened it up and it's a quality bit of kit actually! It's better put together than i was expecting and seems nice and robust. I briefly wired it up to a 12v drill battery to test it out and it works a treat! Cant wait to fit it now!
  23. Oh agreed Chris, the prices of the 2010+ cars will be affected (and why anyone would buy a new car the year that a replacement model comes out i will never know!). But for the market im looking at... piddly little 100k+ miles beat up old things at £8k, it will be a loooong time before the release of the new model starts to affect the pool of cars that im buying from. Interesting about the 458 though with Ferrari holding them back!
