  1. Hope it doesnt blue screen in the middle of writing the ROM, that would be scary Any mention of the company it is sent away to?
  2. Wasnt expecting all of it, just interested to know what we would get. I'm sure I heard of a place that did mapping on the Zed which offered multiple maps controllable via the cruise buttons. It may have been on an aftermarket ECU though EDIT: Found it - UpRev offer map switching so it is defianately doable with the right software Technosquare can do it and thats on the stock ECU, so theres no reason they cant get it working with the right software I would definately like to know what RS Tuning are using to tune it before I have my car done. There seems to be a lot of different ways to do it from quite basic modification of current signals (MAF etc) to almost full control of the ECU if sales blurb is to be beleived
  3. Definately make sure you find the time to break them in. Its well worth it as the others have said, and especially important if you have uprated pads and discs.
  4. Paul can do it, best PM him for a price though. I'm sure it will work out at less than £200 all in though
  5. Any idea what the caked on crap was? Evo owners eh, just dont take any care of their cars Good job in the end as always
  6. Good luck mate, hope you have a long lunch break to do it in!!
  7. Would be good. Whose our event organiser in that area?
  8. And tbh, it doesnt matter how much sealant you use or wash technique, if you get a stone chip on the laquered part, during wet weather, its game over, trust me I know, my Rotas need a refurb again soon and they had powdercoat laquer on them which is rock solid. Once a chip gets through though, and you get some moisture on there, it will go. Washing and protecting will just slow it down. My Rotas will be going Time Attack style next time around
  9. +1 always worth another watch though! They give the same reaction Amanda did when we did a powerslide @ 65MPH at the CarLimits airfield day for the first time
  10. I definately have. Using Tesco 99RON over their normal stuff, I see more than the extra cost returned in better MPG. I think last time I measured it, 99RON was 1p a mile cheaper than the 95RON stuff, which is more than enough to keep me going there! I have also noticed that when I fill up with BP Ultimax or whatever it is these days, I get slightly more, but not enough to cover the 4-5p/l more it is to buy
  11. That looks feckin awesome mate! I'm sure you will have lots of interest with prices like that. Infact pretty much every panel there ties in nicely with what I have planned Better get saving me pennies!
  12. Sounds like some good upgrades James. Just make sure the numberplate is straight this time
  13. Sounds nothing like your original statement! In fact very confused logic. What hes saying is that although it wont do the best job in the world (ie wont get you the best tune, most power, best torque curve) it will get you a safe tune that wont damage the engine, if the tuner knows the unichip well.
  14. And I'm guessing most of that is text (as you have the main images cached and not many other images are hosted on here - most are on photobucket), that is a hell of a lot of data! And almost 4% usage from iPhones - you big geeks!
  15. Yup - lots Dont have a months worth of full stats yet, but we're certainly popular
  16. Typical dealer Glad to hear you had the sense to say no. They'd just end up throwing parts at it until it started working again Hope someone on here has some ideas for you and get it sorted
  17. I have noticed that, but also looking at the stats we are getting busier and busier every day, so it might be down to traffic more than anything. I would expect that serving pages comes over email notifications in the forum software, so more page views will likely slow down emails. Might have been a consious effort by the Admin team to cut down on load though as batching the emails will likely reduce load compared to doing them real time.
  18. A mac mini and windows XP (native) does me nicely
  19. Good luck mate, be interested to see the results and what costs are involved going with the Unichip vs say the reflash that RSTuning will be offering soon. I can see we will need a comparison chart giving the pros and cons of each, but I guess the main factor for most will be price. If you go FI sooner rather than later, shotgun your Unichip
  20. I assume he means have the flashing software/hardware updated to cope with our ECUs. As there are so many variants of ECU, there will need to be that many variants of flashing software to cope with the differing features etc. At a guess, they send of the dump of the firmware from the ECU to whoever their supplier is, and they send back the new one which has all the functions of the original, plus the "magic" part which allows the tuning to be done. RSTuning: I forgot to ask before but will we be able to have switchable maps and full throttle control (ie pedal to the metal = 100% open throttle)? How much tuning does the software allow? I have seen some that just mess with the MAF sensor signal to fool the engine into what is happening and some that allow full control.
