  1. Original BOSE AMPLIFIER from 2005 GT4 - works 100% Was removed due to audio upgrade. Excellent condition. This is currently listed on eBay as a "Buy It Now" (£44.99 or best offer) at: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/120799869821 All the best, Mark (ms8qt)
  2. I'm glad you agree Cragus They're simply cluttering up my living room (I have no garage) and driving the misses crazy...and I'm getting nagged to sell 'em!
  3. These are still available (due to potential buyer not having enough spare cash for a few weeks). Price drop for a quick sale...£650 including delivery Please private message (PM) me if interested.
  4. I think these got lost amongst all the other recent 'for sale' posts...they're still available and I'm after a quick sale. If interested, PM me with an offer ASAP. Any questions, just ask. Thanks, Mark
  5. Just got back from Abbey...spoke to a guy called Tony that really seemed to know his stuff As soon as he heard the noise he knew it was down to a couple of worn bits (bearings?) in the crankshaft. He seemed confident he could fix it without buying any expensive replacement parts, however it will take around 40 hours labour at £60+vat an hour...OUCH! It seems it's not easy to access the crankshaft on the 350z, hence why so much labour is needed. I don't appear to have an alternative option so I'll be booking it in with them to get it done ASAP. The only good news was that the rattle noise is quite quiet at the moment and isn't constant...Tony thinks I've caught it early so it'll be ok to drive for the time being, providing I treat it gently and keep it in the lower rev range! Mark
  6. Thanks for the quick replies guys! I've just spoken with Abbey (they seemed to know their stuff) and I'm going to go there this afternoon to get their initial thoughts. I only went to KJM in Reading, no other dealers. I'll see what Abbey say this afternoon and go from there. Mark
  7. Hi, First of all let me start by saying I no nothing about car mechanics so please reply in plain English or I'll get confused very quickly! I have a GT4 spec 350z (05 plate) and recently noticed a rattle sound coming from the engine (whilst driving). It is more noticeable once the engine is warm and the throttle is feathered slightly in 2nd or 3rd gear, although you can hear it if the car is in neutral and you rev it harder. I took it to Nissan today and within very little time at all they told me I had engine issues and it sounded like the crankshaft. I have booked the car in for 4 hours labour on Tuesday so they can take the crankshaft out and perform a more detailed diagnostic to confirm their initial thoughts. They seem hopeful that regrinding the crankshaft, etc will resolve the problem and the cost of this additional work (inc. parts and labour) is likely to be ~£1200. However, their main techie said that the early 350z didn't allow you to regrind it due to the way it was constructed. They believe that my 05 plate GT4 is on the border and therefore it might be possible to regrind its crankshaft (but they won't know for sure until Tuesday). I was under the impression that the engine from the GT4 became the standard engine in newer cars so I'm really hoping it can be reground. Can anyone shed any light on this? I would like to understand the situation more and know whether or not I'm likely to end up with a £1200 bill or a £3000+ bill for a new crankshaft or, even worse, a new engine! MANY thanks, Mark

  10. *** SOLD *** All, For sale are 4 x Limited Edition GT4 wheels fitted with Toyo T1R tyres and 20 nuts (including 4 locking nuts). DETAILS: The tyres are practically new as a result of me buying LMGT4 wheels and tyres off 'zmanalex' a couple of months after replacing them all! The set of tyres cost £600 and there is 7mm of tread on the fronts and 5.5-6mm on the rears As you will see from the photos, after a good clean they still look great. There are some marks on them which the photos clearly show. I've chosen not to get them reconditioned before selling them so that the buyer can choose what they want to do and potentially get them reconditioned in a different colour. PRICE: Make me a realistic offer in the region of £750. DELIVERY: Collection is welcome or alternatively I can courier them to you for £50 (or less if you know of a courier that will do it cheaper...I live in the Reading, Berkshire area) REASON FOR SALE: I have recently sold my 350z (fitted with LMGT4 wheels) following the purchase of a new car. Please send me a private message if you're interested! All the best, Mark Front Tyre #1 Front Tyre #2
  11. I've had my GT4 for 4 years and it's been the best (and most fun) car I've owned. However, it's time for a change (probably to a new M3) and a friend of mine wants to buy my GT4. It looks like I'll be selling it with the GT4 (LM1's I believe) wheels although, at present, I have 19" LMGT4 wheels on it and I want to get an idea how much I can expect to get for them on here or eBay with/without tyres (Falken's with a medium amount of tread). BEFORE YOU BOMBARD ME WITH MESSAGES WANTING TO BUY MY LMGT4's...I am not selling them until late April / early May but feel free to contact me if you think you might be interested round about then. The near-side rear wheel would benefit from reconditioning due to a scuff mark (thanks to a stupid old woman driver in Waitrose!) and a couple of the others have a few small marks due to water getting under the lacquer (a common thing to happen with these wheels). I know the answer is partly down to demand but can anyone give me a rough idea what I can realistically expect to get for the set? Pictures of them fitted soon after I got them mid-2009 can be seen at: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=23436 Lastly, does anyone know how much I should be paying (roughly) to recondition each wheel. I believe they're a little more expensive to recondition due to the lacquered finish. Could always get the whole wheel lacquered/coated! Alternatively, could sell them 'as-is' and leave it up to the buyer to decide what to do r.e. any kind of reconditioning Many thanks, Mark
  12. Thanks for the reply. I saw those on eBay earlier but they're actual aluminium ones and, based on my experiences so far, I'm sure I'll have the same problem. I either need to find a way to remove the clear glue that has well and truly bonded and solidified where the vent trims fit or I need sticker versions like the ones JDM sold. It's a really irritating thing to have to fix and the unfortunate thing is that I also have a few other annoying things to sort out... - air bag light now flashes all the time...maybe a lose wire? - seat belt pivot at the top squeaks...wd40? open the covering and check for seat belt twists? - passenger door dropped...needs a new hinge! If the car wasn't such a great drive I think I would have sold it by now. Build quality doesn't seem a patch on my previous BMW 330 M-sport coupe Mark.
  13. I just noticed that JDM no longer have any silver air vent trim stickers available, only carbon fibre effect Does anyone know why they've stopped making/selling silver ones? More importantly, does anyone know where I might be able to pick up a set somewhere else? I've tried using the official alumiunium trims from Nissan twice in the past (bending them appropriately first) and eventually the passenger side one has always become unstuck, I think because the previous owner had the same issue and had tried to resolve it by using some kind of ultra strong clear glue (which I haven't been able to get off completely and therefore means the surface isn't as flat or clean as it was originally). Any help, ideas, web links, etc would be most welcome! Thanks, Mark.
  14. True but they can mark/corrode over time as they are polished (like the edge of the wheels). My LMGT4's I got off 'zmanalex' were in mint condition but the center caps were quite badly tarnished, hence the need for new center caps. You make a fair point though...I guess not many people would need another set. I'll eBay them later tonight and see what happens
  15. I'm surprised nobody has replied to this thread expressing interest (or PMed me)...any ideas why?! I'll be putting these on eBay tonight if they're not already sold by then. Mark.
