  1. +1 I though i was stepping back into a 1970's car when i got back in the zed Audi do set the standard imho Fine for those who want a nice interior but I bought the ZED for the driving experience - something the Audi lacks big-time as the 4 wheel drive takes most of that pleasure away - the only time its worthwhile is when it snows They don't have to be mutually exclusive though. No but to have both you have to pay more money. To get to this price point, something has to give, build quality or performance. Nissan are doing a good job of getting the best of both worlds, but they wont ever get there at this price point. If you want both, get a Cayman
  2. thats just a chore tbh and will lessent he nuber of members joining. still, has its benefits i suppose Just get yourself along to meets, then everyone knows who you are and you know them. You get to build up a circle of who to trust. Its a usual case of buyer beware. We cant moderate what happens in private (PMs, emails), only what is posted up, so if someone approaches you outside of the public view, you have to ask yourself why, and if something isnt right, report it to the team. Shame as its not something I have experienced on here before, but it is a pitfall of all forums - paid for membership or free.

  5. What a load of tosh! They bang on about power increases typically in turbo applications, but the Zed isnt turbo as stock! Yet another generic piece of shite which means they have probably never mapped a Zed before! Stick to RS Tuning or Abbey

  9. +1! If I was blinging up my engine, I'd be in line. I've promised myself I wont go down that slippy slope atm though! Dont bother with the SSV, they crack and arent any good unless you have FI.
  10. Where abouts in Berkshire are you mate? If Fleet isnt too far away from you, look up TGM Sport. Tom and the team are very helpful and good guys. Get them to let you know what you need and order it from CS (pads and discs), and order the tyres straight to them from Camskills. Tell them we sent you and they'll look after you. Far far cheaper than Nissan. Remember to take cash
  11. The front arches must also be steel as mine had a rusty stone chip by the headlights. Also the bonnet although being Alu must be able to oxidise or something as mine is bubbling along the front where a few stone chips have got it If it was rust, you would easily be able to see where the paint is broken after you used T-cut (but please dont use it again!). If the paint surface isnt obviously broken, then it must be a contaminant on the paint in which case a clay should shift it
  12. Thats good to know chaps, I've been asking that for ages! Didnt want to make a trip to one of you to find we can only dump the ECU and not map it there and then. At least if I knew I could only dump it, I can prepare myself

    Cool. Quite supprising you found the sensation to be as fast. To me (and Ben) my Zed feels far slower, but put them both together on the road and it was pretty close before his remap. Also at the airfield day we did, he wasnt much quicker for having a bit more power.
  14. Sounds to me like contaminants. If the panel was rusting the paint would lift up and off first. Try using a clay bar as suggested, I bet it will take it off. The fact that you say polish seems to smear it (chase??) sounds like tree sap to me, as thats exactly what polish does to it. Clay bar will lift if off
  15. I would say 10 really, but I will ask the guys if they will just do a forum discount for us. I see the price has gone up now by about a tenna so I'll see what they can do.
  16. Did you just swap over the filter then Mark? Before you were running an open K&N, so a pop charger should make no difference to an open K&N as they are both cotton filters. Unless you are talking about your enclosed K&N but then I would expect that to be lower than a pop charger! Interesting results. You going to post up your results in the Dyno results thread?

  18. Times are hard financially but not hard enough to swap a BBK for some stick on plastic Good good, had me worried for a while then!

    Did you have a head to head with it? I cant see it in the ebay link, is it standard? When Bens Evo was standard, there was nothing in it between us really. Now hes been remapped, theres no chance though, even if I get mine remapped!
  20. You taking the ****? I thought the Ex-ESR car has a BBK on the front? He was going to sell them for a while. Did they remove them before they sold it?
