  1. Very good, welcome to all the 370z owners when they arrive
  2. Well done mate, as Chris says, PM Mike
  3. I saw this on the BBC coverage of qualy yesterday. He seems like a decent chap, was straight talking and seems like he will be a much better choice than Max. Also seemed that Bernie likes him, which gives you some confidence he might get in, and he reportedly has the backing of quite a few of the FIA parties.
  4. Thanks for looking into that. We had suspected that it would be the case with multiple maps and RS Tuning said it was only possible with the GEN2 ECUs Dont know what Nissan have shoved on the ECU to cram it full, or why they cant just put bigger ROMs on there (penny pinchers!). I think its the same case with the BCM which is why we cant have autofold mirrors too as its got "extra features" which fill it up!
  5. Ahh I see. That makes sense, Its what I would do if I need both wheels off the floor at once. I have a similar one from Wickes and they are a pain in the butt. I have to put the car on planks just to get the trolley jack under the normal jack point
  6. Nice one Dan, more progress than I I take it they are adjustable? Whos going to do the setup of them for you? And is that a scissor jack I see? Dont tell me you got the car onto axle stands using it?
  7. Told you guys not to plan too much, it never goes to plan! I started my front disc and pad change Friday night, and having found one of the pad stops had oxidised stopping the pad going in, I was stumped for the night. With a bit of guidance from Alex, managed to get it off and clean it and get enough cleanace to fit the pad. Not sure I want to attempt the rears today just in case they go wrong as well and I need the car first thing Monday morning!
  8. Yeah mate Good day today though Do you guys f'in listen? Airbag reset procedure is posted up somewhere. I would find it and tell you, but you dont listen anyway
  9. I know what you mean. My missus mate has a Cooper S too and said how do I live with the boot being unpractical. So I backed up to hers and popped the boot. The Zed boot is at least 2x as big as the Mini's if you use the space infront of the strut bar too
  10. Lamposts with no signs dictates a 30MPH limit. If its higher there will be signs. As already said, when coming down into a 30 zone, there will also be signs, but not there after. Think you've just been done James, and have to take the ticket. Unless you can prove the signage wasnt adequate. Can see how it easily happened being a dual carridgeway. This is why speeding itself shouldnt be a crime, it should be down to if its dangerous or not
  11. Got it in 1. Or just keep em locked up so no claims against them
  12. Hehe, we do. You can actually fit a bit of gear into the back when needs be. People are always amazed at the amount of stuff you can fit in a Zed when you get it all out the boot. You just have to be clever with the packing
  13. As long as we're doing our part, hey Chris Theres just no point making the time and effort mate, as we are so small compared to them. Look at the US and their 7l monster cars that have crap efficiency. It pales our few Zeds into insignificance. I'm not going to have no fun to try and save the planet when its really not going to do anything. I do other things to try and help by turning things off etc, but I wont stop driving the Zed or anything else I do for fun.
  14. +1 - I've been with Admiral for about 3yrs now and always get a fresh quote. Then call them up and give them the online quote number and they will match or beat it. Thats what I've done at least twice now Also prices are going up at the moment as younger scroats are buying Zeds and crashing them! Thats the market for you, the more people that claim against Zeds, the more expensive they will get to insure and it will only get worse as they get cheaper
  15. Why oh why would you launch a Zed at all. Unless you take it to the drag strip. Even then I dont see the point. You'll just kill the clutch quicker! Get out on the twisties thats where the real fun is
  16. Until the US and China start doing anything about it, we are just a drop in the ocean. Even if all the UK were carbon neutral, the other bigger continents on this planet would screw it over, so what the hell, we might as well have some fun while we can!
  17. Think I paid about £50 for mine inc delivery, but that was off a member on here. Not sure the going rate atm, but they are well worth it. Dont worry about getting mess on it, as long as you keep it dry, its very easy to keep clean and looks a lot nicer than rubber
  18. If you buy a Prius, you will be banned, simple as that Seriously, as Husky points out they are worse for the environment than the Zed! Deforestation to get the metal for the batteries, harmful chemicals/metals in the batteries, and even then they only work on stop start driving, and not longer journeys where they use their normal engine! What a crock of shite!
  19. Si try giving Lee (R35LEE) a PM with regards to the air vent. He breaks cars so might have a few spare Havent got a clue about the boot mat, why do you want a rubber one? You can get a lovely thick carpet ones on ebay (Nissan ones) for not too much money if you are trying to quieten down the road noise.
  20. More fun in the wet especialy with ESP off. Lol, true true! Maybe I will go out again
  21. Yes sorry, should have said that, front calliper. Sounds likes its nothing to worry about, so will leave them as it is. There was enough room for play between the calliper, pad and disc so shouldnt get stuck again, just wasnt as much room as the other one in the pain of pads. Definately was oxidation under the pad stop that caused it, when I got rid of it, it fit so much easier. Dont know how Nissan changed it last time, unless its happened more recently as I couldnt get the old pad out it was that tight! Ho hum, live and learn. New disc and pads are working just fine, shame its wet so I cant go for a real play Thanks for all the help
  22. Right had another go at it this morning and the pad stops were definately the culprits. The only thing I could see was that some paint had come away at the top of the calliper by the pad stops. What I assume has happened is that were the paint has come away, the metal had corroded and forced the plate out. I managed to get one pad stop off and the other wouldnt budge. So I cleared the crap from behind the pad stop I could get off which freed up just enough room to get the pad in. Its not as loose as I would like, but it certainly doesnt stop it working any more. Alex, have you heard of or seen this before? Seems very dodgy. I think the calliper should really be refurbed at some point as it will only happen again. What sort of cost would I be looking at to get the calliper refurbed and would you do a swap out service as the car is my daily driver?
