  2. + = Deffo temp ban while he is on holiday. Who is going to do the honours
  3. Just clean it if its not damaged. No point what so ever getting a new element, just get a recharge kit
  4. +1 but bet it would sound good on the track
  5. Mitz is always lightning quick for PMs for future reference Greekman
  6. Sorry to hear that Mark, but hopefully I will be able to attend the rescheduled one For future reference you can update the title yourself by clicking "Edit" on your first post, you can change the title in there
  7. Bonnet buldge is for the 07+ (309HP) ones. If you have a sliding cubby in the arm rest (rather than a popup one) and silver AC dials then you have the 296
  8. The crap res on the small screen is perfect for the crap res on a PS2 Mark Get a CarPC as BM says and put some emulators on it (gives me an idea, I dont hve any on mine )
  9. Good progress chap. Cant wait to see it finished
  10. Indeed. I looked at it before and it was the cost of replacing parts if it went wrong that put me off! If you are handy with soldering, this isnt hard, just time consuming
  11. Thanks Alex. They are definately original pads as one set (old) was from Phil and new ones are from CS. The old pads were fitted by Nissan which wouldnt supprise me if they wedged them in. I really couldnt see anything stopping them, there just isnt the room (by about 1mm if that). The only thing I can see is that the pad stop is noticeably thicker on the one that wont fit vs the one that does on the other side of the calliper. Can those pad stops move in any way? I will attack it with brake cleaner tomorrow and post up some pics if I cant get it sorted. I'm hoping theres just more brake dust to be removed
  12. No shims at all. Didnt think the fronts had them. The pads that came off didnt have them on. Its definately something to do with the sides of the pad backing being too wide, or the gap too small, see pic added above
  13. Nope all pistons retracted fully and working
  14. Chaps, Fitting new discs and pads all round and having a bit of a mare. Basically, I have done one side easy peasy, pads out, calliper off, disc off, disc on, blah blah, but I'm having a bit of a mare with the drivers side. Initially one of the pads (the inner one if it matters), would not come out, but the outer side popped out easily. I can wiggle it backwards and forwads (towards and away from the disc) but not move it upwards. So I decided to pop the calliper off first then popped the pad out from the middle. Having done that and fitted the new disc, the outer side pad went in a doddle, but this inner one refuses to go in. Now its not the pads as I've tried every one I have, old and new and none will go in. I've cleaned the caliper and nothing is in the way in terms of dirt. The pads just seem about 1mm too wide. The leading edges that you grease up only just fit and you really have to whack the pad to make it move. I thought if I got it in there it might be ok, but it basically doesnt move anywhere now. Any ideas on how to solve it? Worst case I reckon I will just have to file/dremel 1mm off the side of the pad backing plate, but thats not a good solution There seems to be a plate screwed into the caliper and on this side it is noticable thicker than the others and runs down where the leading edge goes. I'll try and get a pic up in a sec. So comon, how do I fix it?! EDIT: Red bits are sticking, blue bit is the metal piece that is screwed in which looks to be fouling it, or at least making the gap too small
  15. WRT the car becoming chavvy, the only hope we have is that the Zed isnt the usual hot hatch and doesnt immediately strike young scroats as a car they could have or want to have. After all they cant ferry all their mates around with their tunes blaring out in a 2 seater sports car Im 20 and my other car is a 172 am i a chav? Do you ferry mates around with boomy music or have a cap that you wear pointing up to the sky? If not then you probably arent a chav

  17. New discs and pads all round for me. Starting tonight, shouldnt take too long
  18. Whats that involving? see http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=24634 I thought that was just an seat swap! Full interior will be interesting, I think the handbrake is one big ass unit, cant just remove the handle! Let us know how you get on!
  19. Security torx bolts per chance? Yes they are. You need to add a little thread lock to them when you put them back too. Also, after disconnecing the battery, pump the brake a bit to get rid of any residual "juice" in the system so the airbag no go pop! I've had mine out about 5 times using this method so its more than safe Other things to remember, make sure the steering wheel is dead straight when you do the swap. Its splined, so you should be able to drop the swapped wheel straight on as long as they are both in the same place. Also, once you have the wheel off, dont go spinning the bits that are left on the column, you will just confuse the TC and send it mad until you untwist it again! Somone on here and in the US did it before and took them a while to get it back working again!
  20. Got your work cut out for you there Husky, good luck to you! Will take a day for the detail, so hope you work quickly to get the other stuff done
