Congrats Mark, will be good for you to have a car in house for testing any mad ball ideas that we tend to come up with -
Its that time of year 'Be careful on the roads'!

^^^ What he said -
If it is just the gate missalignment, then it will go into gear quite easily if you get your aim right. I didnt notice mine was out at first as through muscle memory I was getting it in the right place. It was only later I noticed going back down the gears (6th -> 5th) that I noticed it didnt always slip in easily. Later realised it was because the gate wasnt lined up. As Alex has said, easy enough job, so if that is the problem, just get his to adjust it.

with my last RWD i was the same, except it had no ESP at all, i feel iam a competant driver and had good control of the car, and enjoyed getting the arse out on the odd roundabout etc. never had an issue until i span it out on a roundabout i drove around 2 times aday for years. it came down to being tired, bad weather and not paying attention for a brief moment. got to much arse end out, snapped to quickly did a full 360 and took out 1 white bollard 2 sign posts and stopped 1 foot from the barrier on a central reservation. i trusted my skills right up and till the point i wasn't paying attention when i was tired. i now leave the ESP on with the 350z unless i'm track side. it acts like the fail safe for that one occassion when i don't get it right. and just adjust my driving stlye to accomadate for the ESP. Fully agree Rich. Even Ken Block or whatever pro you love could bin it if they are on the way to work and not concentrating 100%. Doesnt take a split second of concentration lapse to bin it, and good luck with recovering it if you do. Seen it far too many times that people have binned it with ESP off. Now I wouldnt argue with turning it off whenever you go for a spirited drive, I can see why you would, just not daily driving. I only turn mine off on the track and have no problem making good progress on the roads. If you are going quick enough to light up the ESP on the roads, you either are going too quick for public roads, or you need to be smoother, or your car has some kind of setup problem (tyres/geometry/etc). And for those that say "It lights up before the wheels are even spinning up", no its not, you're just not as quick as a computer at detecting spin/slip. Trust me you are spinning the tyres, just you didnt realise yet, as the computer is always quicker than you

Ah right! My girlfriend just retrimed my boot hatch, strut and surrounding area in a type of alcantara and its quite hard wearing.. Just need to get some more material.. did some interior bits too and just wondering what else too do! You gone for something that wont fade this time?
-
Thought it might be, common problem when you have the clutch changed. You wont get a better mechanic than Alex doing it for you
-
Did say it was a bit hit and miss. It worked with mine the first time around, but never since! I have just hammerited the bits you can see of the hub black and it looks ok for me

Doesnt sound common, but there could well be a very easy solution. When the clutch is changed the gearbox is dropped out, and this means loosening/removing the gear selector gate. This means that when its refitted the selector gate doesnt quite line up properly, and can make hitting 5th/6th a little troublesome. If you are sat with the engine off, try putting the stick all the way to the right as if to go into 5th or 6th and slide it backwards and forwards. If it gets stuck before getting into gear, this will be your problem. Its easily fixed by Nissan or yourself if you are handy with spanners, I can dig out the link if needed. Its a few bolts to loosen/remove and just lining up the selector plate and then tightening everything back up. If this is not the case, then its most likely the syncromesh is gone. This too is common but with the car being out of warentee, could be expensive to fix, some reporting it to be cheaper to buy a second hand box. I hope in this case its the former "gate" issue

I find a good few coats of DD SN matches the longevity of AG EGP. Havent tried Colleinite, but beleive it to be the hardest wearing stuff known to deatilers If you want maximum longevity, go with Collenite Not used DD SN for long enough to say but I'd find it hard to see how it can last as long as AG EGP - that stuff lasts forever even with plenty of washes! That said, I'd say the longest lasting of the lot of those is the jetSEAL. The Zed still comes up a treat with it and is lauded by many on DW. Maybe its just because AG EGP doesnt bead as nicely as DD I assumed it had worn off. Beading is usually the only way you can tell wax is still on there and working, so I guess i assumed the EGP was dead, but maybe it was not

Dodo Juice Supernatural. Nicely sits between the lower Dodo waxes/AG HD and Swissvax. About £60 a tub but well worth it, better than anything else I've used for bang for buck. Lasts longer than other Dodo waxes and way longer than the likes of R222. Andy@Kudos and Matt@i4detailing both stock it

Knew you'd do that! Deffo the best thing to do over winter especially as there arent many meets this season

Noop, i would say its pretty loud in person Its waaaaay louder than a K1, and a K1 is pretty defening as it is. People really shouldnt go by vids for these exhausts, you need to hear them in person, in the car, driving under load. Vids or static, just doesnt tell you how loud they are. Adrian took someone out at Ace that wanted a loud exhaust like a K1, by the time he came back, he realised he really didnt want one!

Here was my attempt at a stitch (shame about the bus stop eh!)

+1 Nissan had one in when I got my Zed serviced last and I had to refuse to test it out as I knew I'd be back within 1/2hr to chop mine in

Sounds amazingly like the experience Amanda and I had in Ikea trying to do a simple thing like buy a chest of drawers! Their stock management system is shocking and in the end we were grateful just to come away alive!

You're not wrong! 6hrs to clean 4 wheels but I got them like NEW and they were the roughest EVER! I made sure he took some decent wheel cleaner and rimwax You not taught Ben the ways of cleaning Chris? I dont think Ben was expecting such a good cleaning service. Basically he has about 4 sets of Evo Enkei wheels which he cycles through using on the road then track when tyres are knackered. When they are shot for track use he puts good tyres back on and back onto road use. I think these were either bought and not used by him (ie about to get new tyres and go on as road wheels) or they were his track wheels about to go back to road wheels. So shocking amounts of baked on brake dust that he couldnt be arsed to shift. He'd never though of using PB wheel sealant as to paraphrase him "they arent tart wheels like mine" Now knowing that Tim will charge about 10x the price to clean them again, he might well be using the RimWax

Good work chap. I hear you did Bens Evo wheels, bet you wont be doing them again! I hear they took a good going over to remove the brake dust!
