  1. He does take them to every show, so has had lots of practice
  2. +1, although I swear by DD Supernatural, the biggest difference I made to my car was to give it a good correction detail with a random orbit buffer (kestrel DA6). Then its dead easy to keep tip top with a clean, clay, quick polish (with a bit of Lime Prime) and wax. Preperation is key
  3. +1 I always thought the originals were a bit clunky, the redesign seems to have made them much more ergonomic
  4. Nice one Mart, hope you get it back up before the rain comes again
  5. I'd start with Clarkie's list, get the basics of 2BM washing nailed, then move onto polishing and claying etc. Make sure you dont try and do a full detail first time around, just work your way up onto a full detail over a few months. A good wash technique will minimise any swirling so when you do come polishing, you efforts will last longer
  6. I have some Megs and Lake Country pads. As for compounds, I have some Poorboys SSR (1,2,2.5) and some Dodo Lime Prime. All seem to work well, but I'm no expert. Matt@i4detailing will sort you out if you ask him I'm sure, or Andy can do you the Dodo stuff, not sure if he sells the buffers and pads though.
  7. Hmm, well that looks different to the ones I have seen, but at least it has its own screen, which should mean it will work on its own. You will likely need the 370z and 350z wiring diagrams to splice the speaker wires all together, but you (or a good audio electrician) should be able to get it to work
  8. Do you have a link for it? Most of them integrate into the screen, so you need that to see what station etc you are on. I think in the US they have ones that done need the screen, but I dont remember what they look like
  9. +1 I think the most useful thing for me in there is the Birthday Calenday
  10. Thats not all it can do, no, but its probably the most useful. I cant remember off the top of my head how many it supports, but I did post it up so it seems like you found them. Remember the more things you have it reading, the slower each will be to respond. The car can only update at quite a slow refresh, so each time you add a new measure for it to poll, they all get slower. I found 6 measures to be an ok trade off between amount of info and speed of refresh - and that was with setting some of them to slow refresh too (like coolant temp). Hope that makes sense, it was just a brain dump
  11. Normally the meets are 350/370 only but i think an exception could be made for a G37. G35/Skyline 350GT and G37 share most of their bits with 350z and 370z so dont see why we wouldnt allow Infini's along
  12. Got your PM James, hope your car is done in time! All these people that miss shows down to cars not being complete, I think we need to draft a standard contract for bodyshops to make sure they have them done on time
  13. ScanXL/Dashcommand wont do MPG in the Zed as it doesnt give it the required OBD read outs - least not in my Zed. I think it needs some kind of fuel usage reading which the Zed doesnt support. I've been running DashCommand for about a year now, so they might have updated it but I was under the impression it wasnt supported by the Zeds OBD rather than the software not working right Heres the dash I have been using on it - and yes its on demo mod, not a live readout!
  14. Anything is possible, but it is very heavily integrated into the 370z, so not sure how you can be certain to get everything you need. Is it just the head unit you have or the screen as well?
  15. Just wait til you hook it up just to find Nissan dont support half the codes you hoped You can definately get IAT, timing advance, speed, RPM and coolant temp. Dont remember ever seeing gear efficiency or MPG. Very handy for fault codes though
  16. Gonna need a better pic than that to make sense of it me thinks. It could be 197WHP, would be down on power, but only by ~40-50HP which could be explainable.
  17. They are from when he had a rattle from the back They can be a sod to find sometimes, its the only way
  18. Good job I already ordered my 370z or I might have been paying a few grand more for a G37S
  19. Nice one matey, they are good when you get past 4.5k RPM just like the 350z Remember to make sure shes nice and warm (check the oil temp) before you go booting it too much though
  20. So true, when I visited Infiniti a while back now, their customer service was brilliant If you want to loan me a car, I'll take it to the shows for you
  21. Nath, IIRC there are only a couple of screws holding the OBD port to the dash. Just unscrew them and fit the whole lot behind the dash. Should be workable from the area I remember there is under there. You wont be able to have the ODB connector in the usual place, it will stick out far too much
  22. Its just a metal box section maybe an inch or two less thick than the plastic makes it look. Theres loads of pics out there if you do a google for sound deadening a 350z
