  1. Laptop would be what I would go for. Also try to avoid getting the most powerful laptop on show and insted get something light/thin. I normally go for 13-15" screens and then go as light and thin as possible for budget. She doesnt need a desktop replacement, so will appreciate having something light on her lap when browsing rather than 7KG monster than can play the latest games.
  2. More stable because it is probably a 90/10 mix once in the tyre unless you run a vac. which then may give you 100% nitrogen Would a vac even get out most of the air? Cant see a tyre deforming enough on the rim to suck out the air. You'd need to do a few cycles to try and flush out the air. Would be a right PITA - easier just to check the pressures Sure I've seen setups before where they have 2 valves so they can flush them through. my vac pump vacs down beyond 2 torr so it could sook the air out but the tyre will deform. Easier just to empty and fill with nitrogen leaving a couple of litres of uncompressed air in and mix it with the nitrogen. Thats what I was getting at Its quite common to see twin valve wheels in motorsport, makes it easier for them to flush through nitrogen and also monitor tyre pressurs.

  4. FWIW no clutch will hold up to well against badly performed donuts
  5. only if you scrape them to the ground, both them lads have their car lowered. My guess is that if you dont scrape them they stay alive a good bit longer. Also the lads are running boost so not sure how well they're ment to without over pressure. I had new flexis on my nismo y-pipe less than 2k miles ago. It gets used as a bump guard to warn me when i'm close to the ground(usually on worn edge roads) Bit of a nightmare but we have to deal with it when lowered. Mines are looking rough already but as long as the internals hold up, that all i'm caring about lol Agreed - when I bought my Nismo from AdrianK the flexi looked absolutely knackered, but it didnt blow. His car was rather low and scraped everywhere. I'm guessing its more boost related or rather extra heat that has killed the flexi quicker as the flexi in the pic doesnt look bad at all.
  6. Like it or not, it just reinforces the sterotype people have of young lads. TBH I've always thought that there should be more courses for young lads, kind of like the Car Limits airfield days where you can go a rag your car around for £40 and not have anyone or anything to hit. Shame there arent more places like that about as a lot more accidents would be averted if they did. All lads want to go and have a rag around, some just dont choose very wise places to have a go

This Just dont look on the insurance database I'm sure it has some crazy value when I got quotes for my car before I bought it
  8. Also Daryl, dont you have a few F1 engineers you can ask
  9. Thats exacty it. What I cant work out, is if you shrink the window beyond a certain point, rather than crush the screen up even more, it makes you scroll from left to right, but I cant for the life of me work out what controls when it does that. If we could, we can hard code it to the right size so that all the buttons show. The problem is with a mix of abolute and percentage sized tables (and tables within tables within tables) this gets rather confusing
  10. Andy only says that to minimise tyre wear as North Weald is so abrasive. Having heard it from the man himself as I asked why we do it - he told me it was mainly to stop the tyre from being able to roll under the rim as North Weald is so abrasive and grippy. With low profile tyres a lot of the guys run, you dont have to be sliding sideways much for them to grip and pop under the rim, completely buggering the wheel. Also it makes the tyre balloon which reduces grip meaning the cars will spin at lower speeds on the courses, which in turn means you dont have to go as fast to get used to the car sliding as it would on the road. He told me the correct way to pressure your tyres is to look for the little triangles at the edge of the tread. If you are under it (ie wear is inside of the markings) you can lower pressure. If you are over them (ie wear is between them and the rim, actually using the sidewall) then you should increase pressure. A friend in his Evo didnt pump his tyres up as much as he should and actually we saw the wear on the tyre wall itself Increasing it a few more PSI made it go back behind the triangles and the car handled much better. Pumping it up to max would have meant the tyres had less grip due to ballooning, but would have protected the rims further and also not meant he'd have to go so quick to induce slide.
  11. Good work chaps The other Zed looks so sad under the tarpaulin
  12. His clutch would have been good for at least a 1000 BHP and torques
  13. Sounds like an excellent reason not to do donuts Unless you want a reason to upgrade the clutch and flywheel
  14. How many miles have you done? Likely that its nothing - some noise is normal - but it could be a sign that the flywheel is on the way out. Does it feel clunky when you accelerate away? Thats a more telling sign its the flywheel. If not, then its perfectly normal.
  15. Sounds like they are quite fragile then, I've seen standard Y-pipe in far worse condition that wasnt blowing. I'm guessing the outer isnt as solid as standard or the inner is very thin? Could always replce it with no flexi straight pipe then you wont have the problem
  16. Put it in gear so it stops agains the gearbox, then put the handbrake on and see if that solves it? Have you tried disabling the tilt/ultrasonics yet?
  17. So what do you want? Bigger box? Re-ordered list? The list is in forum/subforum order, so if we make it alphabetical then it wont make sense. If you head over to the 370z theme though, I have made a tweak (change it in User Control Panel > Board Preferences > Board Style )
  18. Had a play with the 370z theme to see if I could work it out. Made it better I think - it displays down to slightly less resolution - but it still dissapears if the screen gets small enough, but eventually it doesnt go any smaller and forces you to scroll sideways. Cant work out what would make it stop disapearing
  19. Nah, just go downstairs, take laptop out of bag and boot. Work from home
  20. Google Street View wont let me get close enough to check Chefs look a bit ropey too, hope your tummy is ok

    Whoaaa

No - just Hugh Might as well lock this too
  22. Gonna get it on iPlayer just for that
  23. To be fair they are not meant to be winter tyres, they are meant for when you are proper stuck and cant move. Once you are off the snow they are useless, just as snow chains are. I think it is a general misconcenption that they can be used just like winter tyres. They are only material after all, you cant expect any fabric to not disintegrate on tarmac, especially with over 1.5tonnes and 300WHP to struggle against
