  1. Not had mine yet but a quick google tells me that it is likely to be the same
  2. Looks like you cleaned all the paint off too
  3. You means it's arrived and your now trying to pretend to all of us that your a good person and would have cancelled it anyway
  4. You wouldn't believe how true that is! It's like having Angelina Jolie as your first girlfriend; nothing else afterwards can compare PS: I was 28
  5. Awesome. Wheels are vile but the car is mint
  6. I've already owned my realistic dream car. When it was released in 2003 I was determeined to have one someday. In March 2007 I told the Mrs I was going to buy one at the end of the year and she said OK. The OK was the green light for shopping to begin and in June 2007 I took delivery: Spent £4k on a decat Tubi set up and I've not heard anything like it. If I was spending the same money again, i'd buy another one, nothing else. The only thing that really grabs me above this sort of car would be a Zonda F
  7. Personally, I'd be buying the MY06 for the interior and exterior changes alone. I found the differences in engine to be virtually undetectable. I know that if I bought a MY03 car again, within weeks I'd be buying LED rear lights (circa £300) and new headlights if they came up (Guessing at £600 or so?) and then would be left with a dated interior. Once I'd spent the extra on the stuff above I might as well have paid the extra £200 in tax and got them as standard on the MY06 car.....

Thats like saying you should have bought a CGT
  9. I think he was asking the difference between the 05 & 06 cars not the difference in tax OP, do a search on MY06 cars and MY03 cars.....

£45k is proper poverty spec. The config link was posted up a few weeks ago and once you add half of the decent stuff it's easy to breach £60k....... I love it though and I've hated everyother Boxster before it. Yeah, I was playing with it and was referring to the standard car, not the S. I did kind of a drivers spec 2.7 with PASM, sport chrono, LSD, and a couple of other "necessary" option like parking sensors, stereo etc, and it did come to £45K. I would argue the standard car has enough power for most real world situations, and a tweaked S would make the 911 look rather overpriced. My mindset wouldn't allow me to buy a standard car knowing there was a better car available.

  12. Did you read the advert? Plus its the worst 370 colour IMO..... And it's a repost, there are two threads on this car already
  13. Neither of those are good looking cars imo. To be fair theres not much point debating aesthetics as it's entirely subjective.
  14. That suprises me, when I drove my mates one I thought it felt quite a lot quicker than the Zed, nothing like as good round the bends though. Power and weight are broadly similar, but peak torque at 1400rpm, 1/4 mile at 0.2 seconds faster and turbo tuneability says to me yer man wasnt wringing its neck by any means. You WHAT??!! As 4 door coupes go, its pretty bloody good ........... the coupes are achingly beautiful with a nice set of wheels too The black one looks decent for a BMW the other two look like chav chariots to me. Don't get me wrong I like BMW's but I can't think of one that grabs you purely on it's looks. I also don't get why people modify a 3 series? Most people buy one as it has four seats, four doors, a big boot and is great car to cart the family around in. But why they spend thousands of pounds trying to make it a car it's not? Gangzoom has already spent £22k which could have bought: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3688883.htm

  17. I know a great place not to far from you, you can come try it out in about 8 weeks None of this £100+/head crap either, good food and venue at a reasonable price. Helps having an event organiser as a fiancee (and shes only 10% over budget, and within contigency!) You didn't seriously think that the contingency wouldn't get used did you????
  18. Great write up, I was feeling your enthusiasm and finding myself potentially talking myself into one........................and then came the pictures and felt that someone had burst my balloon. It's not an ugly car, but it just leaves me cold I'm afraid.
  19. This is what we did. We originally had planned the whole white wedding thing and had booked a stately home/hotel that had a church on site. It would have been amazing. However, once the invoices started to roll in the total price was getting stupid. I got an invoice from the venue for £31k, that covered hire of the venue (church & marquee), wedding breakfast and evening buffet, evening disco, champagne reception and rooms at the hotel. We had 200+ guests and once you start looking at food it's easy to get to £100 a head and at almost every wedding there are people moaning about the food, and if I'd have heard this I would have chopped their heads off That was also without anything such as rings, her dress, flowers for the venue, car hire, suit hire, photographer or honeymoon! It would have easily spiralled over £50k!!! Then I had a falling out with some close family members who threatened to boycott my wedding. It suddenly dawned on me that I was going to spend over £50k to feed and room other people. It also concerned me that if anyone ruined my day (like not turning up, getting drunk, causing a scene etc) that I would have spent £50k to have it ruined by someone! So we binned off all those plans, and instead of having 200+ guests, me and Laura, booked flights to Vegas for just me & her and spent about £6k on getting married there, staying in a suite at the MGM, helicopter rides over the strip and generally had an amazing time as we focused on what it was actually all about, me & Laura, and not feeding a load of people that we probably hadn't seen for years. We then booked a marquee at a nice hotel in the UK the week after and spent about £10k on that and had a great time as there was no pressure etc. Looking back I would be really annoyed with myself if I had spent £50k+ on a single day. I know we could have done it cheaper but it was either all or nothing for us and I'm glad we did it the way we did it now as we have only positive memories
