  1. How many buy a ZED for fuel economy reasons? The number of threads that continue to pop up on the subject amaze me - I think of nothing more tedious than driving it with a pussy foot . When I turn the key on the ZED it is to enjoy what it does best . When I want fuel econmy I get in the wife's Jazz.
  2. How did the day go Alex?
  3. Bluetooth setting instructions ?? same problem for me, people cannot hear me but when the phone rings it is soooo loud it makes me jump every time it rings +1 I didn't know there was a setting to make yourself louder? Head up and bellow at the mic usually works

  12. After trying the Halford rubbish now got this one : http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/detail-brush-p-324.html ......saw a post by a detailer on this forum - I'm really pleased with it - strong but flexible and does the inside of the wheels a treat. But I still use an old mitt like GIXXERUK as well to get round the back of the spokes and nooks and crannies.
  13. So sorry to hear about this Andy hope the insurance helps you get another ZED soon. Rentech posted; "I was considering installing a BlackJax system for such occasions. Has anyone got any one? Will set up another thread." Has this been done - perhaps Sarnie can fill us in with details?

    Falken452

My findings of the (19") Falkens after about 3000 miles. Totally transformed and improved the grip in the wet compared to the Stones RE40's. Not so easy to provoke the oversteer (in the dry) given the extra grip the Falkens offer - rather than a clear feel through the seat of the pants as to when the 'grip' lets go, as with the Stones, I find the break-away point is more instant. Having recently done a few of the more challenging roads in the UK - Abergwesyn in Wales, Hardnott in the Lakes and Applecross in the Western Highlands, it was necessary to turn off thre TC to get round some of their sharp hairpins - otherwise it just kicked in and frustrated forward motion. Did mean a few rubber burning occasions though..... Overall - for average UK conditions I'm very happy with the Falken's performance (and very good value for money) . But when I go on track I would instantly put the Stones back on to help get the more progressive slides (when provoked), as I have reservations that the Falkens might 'bite' a little too much and end me up in the gavel traps, or worse . Hope this helps anyone thinking of using the Falkens.
  20. Hi Adam, Was planning this weekend but I think that I will now have a play at Knockhill on Saturday instead Thare are two track sessions on....GMSC are running an open pit lane from 11am untill 1pm and then Hot Marques are also running open pit lane from 2pm untill 5pm. If the car lasts the 5 hours then maybe the ring the following week. If you fancy riding shotgun on Sat then let me know, you are most welcome. I will be able to confirm tomoz if all is well with the Zed. Cheers, Alex. Go for it Adam - would love to see some pics of Alex giving it some ps: check the train timetables home Adam - only kidding mate as Alex will have his box of hammers to sort any problems out and he will have you to hold on to his trusty bonnet stay
  21. Working from home, I have often signed for parcels for neighbours who have been out - never occured to me that these couriers can get away so easily with their miss-handling. But not about to start opening neighbour's parcels in trying to help out so it looks like I will be adding to the drivers' overtime in future
  22. Needs must Phil. Spent all my money on gauges Have you got a pair of c f bonnet stays in stock mate ? Cheers, Alex. Which hammer will use to fit 'em - just been admiring your tool kit
