  1. Nope Keep them until you sell the car, put them back on and sell the led's Just what I thought
  2. I've been reading this thread and wrestling with my better judgment, which says "if it ain't broke, leave it alone" but they're just so pretty. So I've got a pair on order Can't wait So, is there any market for Mk1 rear lights?
  3. No probs, and you're right, it's all for the best. At least I know the pads are good and I know to get the car serviced elsewhere
  4. Thought I'd let you know about my service with Nissan Shepperton, a shame it's been so poor, because I virtually live next door I'd owned my Z for a week when it went in for a P3, I'd taken advice from the guys on this forum, so had done the usual checks when I bought the car, for the items that seem to go wrong most regularly. The service went okay, but they kept her in overnight, because they were running late and gave me the following advice - 1 "The rear drive shafts are clicking/knocking when changing gear, you need to get that looked at" 2 "Your brake pads are 80% worn all over, you should get them changed asap, they are brembo import brakes, different from the UK spec car, it'll be £260 front £140 rear" (I actually challenged them on the pad difference bewteen UK & Import spec, after talking to you guys, and they told me that they had tried to fit a UK spec pad and it wouldn't fit) I'd been listening for the drive shafts when I bought it, couldn't hear a thing then, and still can't, maybe you need a specialist ear to hear it? I collected the car and driving into Hammersmith that evening, was being repeatedly flashed, found out that they'd been mucking around with the lights and had blown a fuse for the fog light, causing the rear light bulbs to blow, so I was driving into London with no rear lights, thanks boys Today, I got around to fitting new pads all round, 80% worn seems pretty bad to me, so figured I'd better take their advice and get them changed. Of course I felt the £400 bill for a brake pad change was a bit stiff, so I bought the pads and set about the challenging task of fitting them, expecting this to be reasonable challenge, especially with the price tag from Nissan. Brembo callipers, easiest pad change I've ever done, took 30 mins to do all four wheels. What dissapointed me was the actual brake wear, probably 40% - 50% worn on the front, and maybe as much as 20% worn on the rear. What a bunch of incompetent. rip off cowboys. I'll be avoiding them in future, and I suggest you do to.
  5. Quality, thanks for the advice. I think I'll get me some red or Yellow stuff and spend an hour on my knees, thanks, that's just saved me enough to buy next years service
  6. Sorry, hate to be a pain. I've just been told by Nissan (Shepperton) that the Brembos on my import are different to the UK brembos. It'll take a few days to order the pads in and it'll cost £235 front and £145 rear. Which is quite a healthy amount of cash, just for pads. Just to be double double sure, are you saying that Nissan are wrong, imports and UK brembos are the same and I can get redstuff brembo pads all front and rear for £99?
  7. Hi Guy's been browsing the forum for a week or so and would like say hi and thanks, well worth looking at all your posts on what to look out for when buying, some great advice I started calling around last Monday, and was driving one home 2 days later, bought the first one I saw, a 2003 GT import in gunmetal. Really wanted black, but everytime I called about one it'd sold, doesn't matter though, gunmetal goes faster It goes in for a P3 tomorrow at Nissan Shepperton, so I have a day in a Nissan Micra to look forward to All the best, David
