Knockhill Racing Circuit this Saturday 8th August.
Ebized replied to ZMANALEX's topic in Motorsport & Track Days
Anyone withing striking distance of Knockhill must be mad to miss out on ZMANALEX's offer, a great chance to find out what a ZED can do, albeit it has a few little tweaks in an attempt to match Alex's abilities. WHAT ARE YOU LOCALS ALL WAITING FOR -
Do you get the noise when you reverse the car as wel as at take off? If so it is almost certainly the rear axle clicky problem
-
From last years Hoon - movie option on camera and failing sunlight restricted better clarity The ZEDS sounded and looked just great though, with Ricky bringing up the rear in is Civic

Decided to do a test run on Friday and boy did we pick a great day - Wales in sunshine Although we are not sending out the route details until the week beforehand just thought we would tempt you with some pics of the areas we will be visiting (in no particular order and some pics taken on another visit) and a bit of self-indulgence Just a few help points The de-luxe rooms at the Moreton have a double bed on the upper floor and a sofa bed on the ground floor (with a telly in each part), which makes it ideal for those who may having travelling partners they don't normally sleep with At £65 at night for the room, which includes full English breakfast, they are excellent value. I am pretty sure I have sorted out a hose we can use there to wash the cars - to be confirmed. Good and cheap food at the local pub in walking distance- "The Poachers Pocket" whilst right next door to the accommodation is a very large garden centre that might appeal to those not interested in car washing Hope you can join us on the 10/11 October Don't forget to pm me for the accommodation booking code. Colin

As Darren said, we will be travelling on the 2nd - up the M74 and so coming past your door, but we are likely to head for the M80/M9 onto the A84 then A85 then the A82 - that worked well last year and a nice drive. But I'm keen to take in the A821 through The Trossacks which is only a small detour off the A84. If you were up for joining us on the 2nd that would be great as we could link up at the services at Hamilton or Bothwell on the M74 - sure the mini bladders in the convoy will be grateful of relief by then
-
No it can't be as that means Stew is on pole and I think ZMANALEX might have something to say about that
-
Feel for you mate - just hope you can get another job soon, or least bag enough from some part-time work so you can keep your dream
-
So who's going to give Louis a ride now Richie has had to pull out
-
I'll second that - Nixy he totally abused my post - all I wanted to see were the pictures of your beautifully smooth waxed shins to see if if they were as smooth my rump
-
Five pages and still we are kept waiting for pics of Nixy's once Mary Hinge
-
Clearly a man after my own heart
-
You wouldn't say that if you knew what he used for a donut holder! My response borrows from your answer Stew on the last Hoon And Nixy, I am afraid there would no room in my car - with June's handbags as well
-
No, not on Monday when we drive up the west coast route to Ullapool area stay there for a couple of nights -going out on the Tuesday continuing along the west and north coasts, and then taking a more inland drive back to Ullapool. Well at least I think thats the idea, as all being well Stew is showing us the way, with any others who are up for it Be great to have you along - but who would believe, it two southerners at the other end of the British Isles whilst all the namby pamby midlanders stay tucked up indoors, Stan & Lucy so far being the exception
-
Going to join us on the trip to J O'Groats while you are at it - should get it all done for a little over 2000 miles Whats J O'Groats? Im going to stop 3/4 of the way up at moffat: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=25139 just a bit further north -after the Hoon
-
You'll have to catch me first

It a completely different car - remember the new regs, slicks, Kers wing sizes, diffusers meaning differing gearboxes - you get some idea from this: http://www.forumula1.net/2009/f1/f1-new ... first-run/ So I guess they are that different they cant develop bits for it? I'm sure theres still a very grey area in there to test bits out as some are bound to work on both cars ....and risk being banned before Schuey hits the track---nahh there will to many spies out watching its not worth their while. Even if they could cobble something together which would never fully replicate the F60 - and given we are talking fractions of a second unless an exact replica alongside a true F60 its not going to help Schuey to use his skills to make those fractions count. WHAT AM I SAYING - there's 20 quid onthe line here

Just a reminder that it is a little less than 3 weeks to go, so please do put your name down if you are hoping to join us. So, if you want to join us please put your name down on the list: http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=25921 for one or both days. Rather than using the same area as in previous Wales drives we have gone for something different that will take place around the Mid Wales area. Not only will there be some great driving roads but the scenery will be fantastic too (Welsh weather allowing ). We need to place a limit of 30 cars taking part and it is for 350/370Z's only. The full itinery, including suggested routes, will be provided in the week before the event. On the Saturday there will be a mini drive out of about 80 miles that will start about 11.00 and include lunch and photo stops. On the Sunday the drive will be around 180 miles, starting at 10.00 with lunch, afternoon tea and photo stops. This link will give you an idea of some of the areas we will be visiting. http://www.touristwales.co.uk/Drives/Drives.html The start/finish venue is Moreton Park Lodge at Chirk, LL14 5DG, which is just north of Oswestry and south of Wrexham. http://www.moretonpark.com/pages/new_site/index.html 20 double rooms (smoking and non-smoking) @ £60 per room and and 10 de-luxe rooms @£65 per room have been reserved for the nights of 10th and 11th October (BOOKING REFERENCE FROM EBIZED) - if you need to stay the Friday night as well mention that when booking. First come first served. These rooms really need to be booked by the end of August as after that Moreton PL are likely to put any left back for general release. You will see there is an attached restaurant and there is also a very good pub/restaurant just a couple of hundred yards down the road. There are BP and Shell garages within half a mile. It has been pointed out the +1's might get restless without some shops to look round and I should have mentioned Moreton Park right next door that is a huge gardening/shopping facility. This link will give you an idea: http://www.thebestof.co.uk/local/wrexham/business-guide/feature/moreton-park-garden-centre/26689 Moreton Park Lodge guests have free access to the Lions Quay leisure facilities nearby: http://moretonhotel.moonfruit.co.uk/#/t ... 4535602115 The Saturday and Sunday lunch stops and Sunday afternon tea stop have also been arranged and full details will be provided with the itinery. However for those wanting to know a little more at this stage the Saturday lunch stop will be here: http://oldbarncafe.com/default.aspx The Sunday lunch stop will be here (it has a large car park): http://brynafon.co.uk/ They have agreed to provide a roast or fish or veggie meal with juice. £10 will cover the full cost of each meal/juice. You can separately buy sweets if you want and other drinks can be bought at the bar that is within the restaurant area. and the afternoon tea stop will be here: http://www.llanidloes.com/red_kite_kiosk/index.html PM me for details of the booking reference if you need accommodation and know that you definitely will want to be take part. I think perhaps as technology moves on, cars perhaps more about the visuality and less about the driving experience. For those of you that have been in or driven a 240/260/280z/x will understand what I mean. I think you're bang on with this, Immy. I've driven a few so called Zed rivals over the last month or so and what struck me is that they were very fast, very refined but lacked character. The lack of refinement in a 350Z - the tingle through the gearshift, the noise, the firm ride - meant that even when I wasn't pressing on I felt I was in a sports car and that was a big part of what made every trip, however mundane, an event. The meaty control weights which were lightened up on MY06/07 cars also added to the impression - not so heavy as to be a problem but clearly not designed for town driving. Ultimately sports cars will become faster, grippier, better built and more refined but more characterful? Perhaps not. Although I haven't driven some rivals recently I agree with your underlying sentiments that cars that look as though they should give a rewarding drive, I do get the impression that they are losing that appeal as more gizmos are added in the 'race' to ensure spec sheets match their rivals . Whereas I have found the MY06 (296bhp) scores over earlier ZEDs by the control weights being lightened, in terms of the overall driving experience I have also found it slightly compromised by the torque change with the high rev engine - so overall there is little to choose between the two. But the external and internal upgrades were all moves in the plus direction, so it looks as though UK56ZED will be with me for some while

I wonder which will be the first force to use a GTR - its only a matter of time..........
