Where is everyone off to on holiday this year?
Ebized replied to 350zStephen's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Try Scotland in September, you just might bump into a ZED convoy -
Its a myth I tell you, white is the easiest colour I've ever had to keep clean, especially compared to black!! You have just made my day then

In absolutely standard trim and it was first registered in December 2006. Some dealers who I contacted were struggling to offer £12k on a similar s/h buy to the 370 that I have bought Probably more to do with how keen they were to shift that particular 370. Would agree - I saw upon collecting the 370 they had a 4wheel drive thing in the showroom where the my car had been (targeting the particular weather period?), but from what the salesman said and noting 3Fiddy couldn't do a deal on the car earlier on I suspect I hit the sweet spot in the month in terms of accounting and offering what was a bog standard 350 in p/e. edit: just remembered - the 350 was not bog standard when I handed it over as it had a 350Z-uk sticker on the n/s rear window

Fraid my 89 year old dad in Oz is from the pre-computer era and with my limited IT knowledge we would get in a right old mess

I would be interested in this too being with Pipex for far too long and putting up with indifferent customer support. I also use 18866 to make cheaper landline calls - particularly when calling abroad. ie. 5p connection charge and then free chat time in UK, and 2p per minute chat time when phoning Oz.

Ross's Old Car New Owner Here
Ebized replied to jasonlycett's topic in Introductions & Welcome Messages
and good to see that Ross's car has clearly gone to a very good home - love to see a pic alongside your GT40 showing the height difference - bet the ZED would look enormous. -
On-going trait of the paintwork on Zeds it seems (and many other marques for that matter) - check out the second pic of Anubis car (formerly Nismo Daves), that I was just looking at viewtopic.php?f=11&t=24968&start=0 The the rear panel, bumper and fuel filler all appear as 3 different shades and cameras and the lighting conditions do seem to highlight the issue. At least the 370 scratch shield paint is supposed to be self-healing

Ebized replied to marzman's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
They are off a base spec 370 - the GTs/Ultimates are on 19" 245/40 and 275/35. -
Fair comment, but I'm having that seen to

Shall I tell June to check out the hats
-
Bloody hell - the work that went into that - you have one very special girl there James As others have said that will be a nice momento to look back on in years to come. Just one small point - the direction off the A483 onto the A495 was correct - it was down the road a bit where the A495 beared to the left that I went wrong - the only excuse being that was the one section of route of the Saturday and Sunday routes that Mike and I had not driven on in our recces and the sign was partly hidden by undergrowth.
-
holy shite, a compliment from Sarnie as Brucie says - must make a note of that Exhaust is provisionally sold - the Nismo wheels, well if they don't fit the 370 or look right then up for sale they will go
-
Thanks for the kind comments guys - I am really quite chuffed at the deal and might well take you up on that offer - especially as you and Lucy will be getting your own new addition and that's a good reason to puts ome miles on the car, and the cine . And June has been mentioning about a visit to the Lakes so look out Andrew/Fran and Martin/Liz, we might be popping in to see you too

Yep, UK56ZED has been replaced by GU59UNS - a 370GT in storm white. Made my mind up after the Race Academy drive at Silverstone followed by a test (on my own ) of a manual demonstrator. I'll be the first to admit that the jury is still out on the looks but the drive is pure ZED and the syncro match works so well when you exploit the car's full potential. I had seriously considered a very late full Nismo kitted 313ps 350 but nothing was about. As I do not have a garage I did want a replacement that had at least 2 years warranty so started looking at the s/h 370's and came across my choice having already paid a holding deposit on a silver one. 'GUNS' popped up for sale and in less than 12 hours it was mine It is basically a new car - only done 68 miles since it was registered at the end of September and kept in the showroom and I effectively made a £3k saving on the new price and only having to wait until New Years Eve to pick it up. It is absolutely pristine in all respects. Even better, I got £15k trade-in for mine (and it had a ding in the rear bumper) which means I lost less than 50% from new, and no hassles with a private sale. OK it had only done 21K miles but at least I have no worries with any issues a private buyer might raise. So some pics of my latest ZED: As seen when I signed on the line: Upon picking it up from Crawley Down Motors: The mileage doubled after my 'long way' home And on New Years Day With the low mileage I'll have to wait a while before I give it the full Ebized work-out but it is very willing already - looking foward to adding 1k miles over the next few weeks so I can give it some real beans A few things I have discovered: Auto lights and wipers - work well. Lane change signals, and no issue with the self-cancelling not working. Heated seats and backs are VERY effective. The passenger seat now has electric recline. The satnav and bluetooth system seem quite impressive - have to say it is all very easy to use and much clearer than in the 350. Fuel filler cover release is by touch rather than a button. Low washer fluid warning light (so the handbook says) Although the overall size of the 370 is slightly smaller than the 350, that does not feel the case from the driver's seat. Intelligent key - well it has got me confused a couple of times And the handbook says you can open and close the windows with it - but despite doing the checks I can't seem to get that to work. There is definitely less storage/cubby hole space than in a 350 and the glovebox is literally for that and no more - not so good. And all the hype about the strut bar being removed to make space is twaddle as the boot depth is less and the pull tonneau compromises the space even further. I already miss the big storage box behind the passenger seat. No spare wheel is a big downside for me -instead the sub-woofer is in its place (if lifts out) and just stuff to supposedly seal a puncture and you get a plug-in pump The quick reference guide made me laugh about opening the tailgate from inside the car: Are Nissan really that strapped for cash to get some updated images done The bonnet has a pop-up system (see pic) in the event of a front-end shunt - I remember reading what it cost a GTR owner to have that fixed Brigestones 050A's fitted - looking forward to exploring their limits The roof design incorporates a semi-gutter arrangement - yet to see if that stops my right arm getting a soaking and I can't see the front spash guards lasting long on some of the Welsh hairpins In the next week or so I should have some more info about how I spent some of the £3k saving on the list price. Watch this space

If they are on the right way round, are you sure that the arm is sitting correctly on the spindle (out of the picture shot)? If it is slightly askew that could lead to your problem, given the minimal clearance there is when things are positioned 100%.

I just popped out to collect something and took the long way home :teeth:

No manufacturer supplies a car with mixed tyres, that tells a story in itself. Each tyre type , even of the same brand, has different characteristics in terms of the tread and sidewall construction so they will behave differently on the road. For example Bridgestones 040's are generally regarded as poor whereas many that have experienced Bridgestones 050's are much more complementary. From the hundreds of posts I have seen on here in the past 4 years on this subject - the one thing that is common is that the ZED is very sensitive to what tyres are being used, wheel alignment, tyre pressures (35 degrees when cold) and in my experience the wear when it comes to driving conditions like we are now having. I have been using Falken 452's all round on 19" Nismos and having done about 10k miles on them they are around half worn on the front and about two thirds on the rears and there is no doubt the grip has gone right off compared to when they were relatively new last winter. In the summer they were fine, in fact the grip level in the dry was too good to steer on the throttle easily but when it was wet and they were not as worn as they are now the grip was fanatastic. So, personally I would not mix tyres, I regularly check the presures and even though tread levels are well above the minimum a change to new tyres is a good investment to help keep the ZED out of the scenery. Of course those worn tyres would be ideal for finishing off on a track day, if that appeals to you And I agree with the last post, MPS would be the best all round choice if your budget runs to them
