  1. His front wings are made of plastic and if he hits a thick twig the thing will be written off. You have nothing to worry about
  2. Tidy indeed. If that box is as chunky as it looks that sub should punch like a good 'un with that amp controlling it.
  3. Not seen it yet - trust it does the car justice!

    New range rover

You were talking sense til the last sentence I think the reason they haven't put a LR badge on it is simple - we all want more eco cars for day to day use but not something automatically made of paper with the design and finish quality of a Lada. It is where I think cars are going, smaller, more eco, with a bit of luxury.....
  5. Poorboys stuff is vastly under used and unknown on here. You're on to a winner

Nah the X6 wins the Ugly Award every time.
  7. From those pics that looks like easily the best fitting after market bumper I have seen.
  8. I got one of these yesterday in the post Chris, shame royal mail obliterated it in the post lol. Right I got a load of products, bought the small DoDo SN wax to see what it's like before I buy a big pot, I have no doubt that I will be amazed from the comments. Just wondering if I should give all these products a whirl on my workhorse civic before I attack the 370. I know the civic would be a more rewarding job as it's 10 years old and the paint is somewhat dulling whereas the 370 is brand new. If the Civic is in that condition I would say you are likely to need different stuff in the first few steps to get it sorted. ie a polish with more cut in etc. Otherwise, go for it if you fancy giving it the once over. But the stuff you have bought can't cause damage to your 370 unless you do something really silly
  9. QD+ works well for me....

    Got My S2K

Just watch it in the wet.
  11. I paid for it for mine. Didn't use it, felt like I would have been better off putting the cash to one side just in case..... With the likes of Lee and Alex on here and the top quality independent mechanics and specialists we have alongside them I would consider that option.
  12. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm 7D! My next camera! In all fairness to my photos, it was 05:30 and raining. not the best conditions for photography. Not sure why the vid is such low res? Im not that familiar to YouTube?? Here's another photo with the 4. A little better dont you think? Thats more like it To get video to upload to youtube in hd, export it in imovie in the highest possible res, so 1280x720p, data rate 4000kb setting, h264 codex. if you can, personal experience with you tube anything over 4000k and forget it, 4k is the max It's what my brother runs his business on..... http://www.thewakeplace.com/#menu
  13. Welcome to the club Plenty of info here, search away for the stuff you want and stick any questions up you can't find answers to. Then get one, then get it to a meet!
  14. It is a known fault - if not under warranty then check out the sticky for the Clarion repair
  15. I think it's that usual mid point between tandard car and home stuff.....
  16. Jetseal is a sealant, and not a wax isnt it? I would have thought it best to clay, then use and glass cleaner, then speed detailer or red mist et al. Yep, it is a sealant and a darn good one I treat the windows pretty much the same as the bodywork, apart from using a glass cleaner after the clay
  17. Had my insurance updated for some mods mid year and they were hugely helpful yet again. Thanks
  18. Not sure that's entirely fair Dan, especially the first half - be good to talk about this as it seems a bit out of the blue....
  19. Sonus Green clay for me too, with a mix of QD+ and water for a lube. And for a light car, in place of the Black Hole glaze if you have a lighter car then Poorboys White Diamond glaze is the one.
  20. Before any polishing I would recommend claying no matter how old the car is. All you need to do is trap ingrained dirt into the polish and all you are doing is moving it around the paint. The basic principle of detailing is to strip existing protection (concentrated shampoo wash), remove anything contaminating the surface (clay bar), remove any scratches or swirls (polishing), fill or flatten the 'holes' from removing the contaminants (sp) (top polish / glazing), and to then protect the newly cleaned surface (sealant or hard wax). Then finally (or some do it as part of the protection) add a wax for a finish. Once this is done, the maintenance is about not letting anything get too permanently stuck into the paint with a regular clean (two bucket method, mild wash formula, minimum contact drying) and top up of the wax to finish. There are all sorts of products out there. Dodo Juice seems to be the in thing at the moment (bit like Megs was a little while ago) and there are loads of others. Good quality detailing gear also comes under the names:- Chemical Guys, Zaino, Poorboys, Collinite etc. (others will have other names to hand!) Pick a product for each of the stages, try it, see if you like it
  21. Chemical Guys Citrus Wash n Gloss diluted to 'strip' ratio (can't remember what it is, it's written on the bottle in the garage) should help break it down if you don't go Snow Foam.
