  1. Come on guys, you buy a top of the range car and you're going to bodge a sound system in by cutting corners from the off??? Dynamat Xtreme is a lot lighter than the standard stuff and has better deadening properties than the standard stuff too. Thinner as well. As for people doing the whole shell Maz, I reckon you could do that and keep the Rays on a standard car and kerb weight would be the same. I know my 19's are probably 50% heavier than my Rays are!
  2. Should look like this (without the tinted windows!) http://www.lincah.com/wp-content/upload ... 88x359.jpg
  3. Volvo V50 to replace to replace the current battle-wagon......
  4. Then no point putting decent equipment in..... People make the car far heavier with modified wheels / brakes / exhausts / rubbish than a couple of rolls of Dynamat will....
  5. That's the one Wayne, ta! Any other traders on here do it then post up - I will order it in the next few days when I am back in our green and pleasant land....
  6. Stew had a contact in Scotland a while ago, and MikeyF had a friend of a friend arrangement but not sure they are still there Sarah
  7. Thanks - is the glue method called anything else? Got any web details? Have also seen dry ice mentioned - anyone seen that??
  8. Cheers Vik - have found a few places but was hoping to keep the money with the guys that support here if possible.
  9. Just had another one put in the same wing on the wheel arch and the car has only been out for a total of an hour today, and I was in it for 55 mins of that... Am in France though, so shouldn't be surprised!! So, any bodywork types know the low down on Zed rear wings??
  10. Specifically, Black Hole Glaze please. I am getting the new car when I get back from hols and want to do the work straight from the factory!
  11. For that money I would not worry about a sub to be honest. I would concentrate on the headunit and front speakers. And cable and sound deadening.... Alpine for the headunit every time for me (unless you are going special with a Nakimichi or a Mackintosh). JL Audio stuff is then probably the reference for entry level all the way up to competition stuff. But I would Dynamat Xtreme the front doors and the rear surround areas, then put in some JL Audio components on a JL 4 channel amp connected to an Alpine source unit of some sort. That is written assuming your total budget is £300-£350?
  12. It's only a small ding. Have it filled. Much easier option than taking a whole panel out. Mission. I am more inclined to do the wing removal so it's all back to perfect though...... That is if it is possible!
  13. Impressive. You can see in a lot of those cases it was taking the light cluster out that helped. This is in a real tough location. Will see what he thinks.....
  14. Dent guy has been round, we had the interior trim off and it can't be got at... So, it is either drilling the skin (don't want to go down that route) or..... How much work is it / is it possible to remove the rear wings on a Zed??
  15. Live that dream Only places I can find are former warehouses with gallery offices that can be turned into living accommodation. Not so sure the airport next door and lack of garden is the best environment for bringing up a family!
  16. Should've said I don't see me getting rid of the Zed at all. Just adding to it (subject to winning substantial cash and finding a property with car storage bigger than the living area!)....
  17. Just get an MX5 and be done with it. Next car will be along the lines of a GTR or something with similar presence and power with an Italian or Merc badge I would think. Or get another Elise or an Exige. That doesn't include the family car or the wife's car though! Next on the drive is a new V50....
  18. To be clear, this forum itself doesn't have the quote system, so please use the numbers in Tim's post above for a quote.
  19. thats because jeremy clarkson is to the automotive non informed, what "the sun" is to the regular non informed. So true
  20. No fall out at all - in fact, not one that has been done traditionally here. And after last year's security and drunken crash incidents not sure if we will be. If there is enough member support then we will of course do the show.
  21. It will be the road surface most likely. By that, I mean once the roads get wet after a prolonged period of warm weather, there is a lot of sap and dust that gets into the surface. When it rains a bit rather than wash it away it turns it into a slippery substance that isn't too nice to play near the limit of grip on! There is often a story of a Zed getting out of shape after the first rain after a summer period. Just take it easy and think when it is damp - it's worse than proper wet as when it is really wet it is water and not a slippery mush.
  22. Check out Chemical Guys and Poorboys World products. Their washes, polishes, glazes and sealants are awesome in my view.
  23. Yeah, our Fiesta ST has such short gearing that in 5th at 80mph it is at 4k!! Noisy!!
