Problems with the dealer are much more complicated than that! The franchise is changing hands next Friday and the new principals dont want to take over any ongoing commitments from the old (or even parts!). Current dealer wants to take the car to another garage they own and do it there. But they aren't a Nissan dealer or service agent although they say they will be! As car is still under warranty and new engine comes from Nissan, I want replacement done by a NMGB authorised dealer just in case there are problems later (oh no sir, its not the engine, its the way it was fitted ...) And NMGB Customer Servces say they dont know of any of these dealership, franchise changes! Oh, deep joy!

Saw this car coming towards me and thought "Wow, whats that". Glimpsed the Audi badges but it still didnt click.... Half-an-hour later as I returned from picking up my friend I saw it again, this time parked at the side of the road in Marlow. Cruised Very, very slowly passed and read the R8 badges! Thats is one stunning, sexy, pretty looking car. Pictures dont do it justice. Wow! p.s. Lady friend said a car cant be "pretty"! That one was....

New engine has been authorised but now got problems with the dealer! Looks like it could take a while to sort. Funnily enough this is one of only two cars I've ever owned that I've thought of keeping forever. (I'd started thinking what to have next but the initial plan was to keep the Z for fun and folics!). I've been loaned a new Vectra whilst my Z is "on decision". Everytime I turn on the ignition, it turns on the radio I turn it off, but next start, it comes back on again. I've looked in the manual and cant find anything about this "feature"! Please, how do I turn this off (apart from ripping out the radio!!!).

I have a spare cubby for sale. I assume its the MY03-05 one...... PM me if interested... johnK

p.s. Interestingly (or not!), when the flood water hit the front it was the whole numberplate assembly I lost!

I used velcro strip (half inch wide x 4 two inch pieces) PLUS two screws in top corners to stop it peeling at speed. Get screw caps to match the plate colour where the holse are going to be (which is one reason I had my euro details done on a black background!).

Thats 3 for buy it back and 2 for get another! If only emotions weren't involved.... I'm going to push hard to get the engine done. I'll emphasise this is a limited edition vehicle (one of only 76 UYs), lovingly cared for, no other faults, no other third party or personal injury claims on this incident ....... Anything else?

Now waiting for Insurance Engineer to view damage - Not sure what he's going to look at though unless he's got a fibre optic probe! May not be 'till Friday. Touch and go for the write-off. If it is, should I buy it?

With Wiltshire Constabulary asking for the photo doesn't work. Their first letter gives you a website case number link with the photos on - I've got mine on my PC now! Suppose you could say you dont have a computer .....

You can buy HP PCs direct from their website and they aren't as dear as one might think. Reputable brand and warranty service can count for a lot. My experience of Dell replacing a hard disk was that they did it the very next day - after 4-5 hours of phone call! JohnK

I was reliably informed some years ago that the manufacturing tolerance on an analogue speedo was +/- 5%, BUT because car manufacturers didn't want to get sued they persuaded the speedo manufacturers to make the tolerance 0 -> +10%. Of course, this has the added benefit that servicing comes round 5% (average) faster than it should (good for service dealers), plus recorded mileages are 5% more thereby devaluing you car more (good for sales dealers). When I'm King I'm gonna put a stop to all this cr*p! Sorry to hear about yours Zedrush. I got done a few years ago for 34 in a 30 so have lots of sympathy. Mine was an A road and although in a residential area, there is not on-street parking, wide carriageway, footpaths both side separated from the carriageway by grass verges - and one of the local councillors lives along there. His name's on my list too! And whilst I'm king, all speed limits will be made advisory, with prosections for careless, without due car and attention, dangerous and over forms of cr*ppy driving. I'll even let them use camera evdince in a prosecution of these. Mutter, mutter, mutter .....
