I did a trial fit of my new M6 wheels and tyres this weekend and decided to compare weights. I was amazed how much lighter the new M6 alloys and tyres are when compared with the exisiting ones. Fronts Std 19's = 28.5kg M6 19's = 22kg saving 6.5kg each Rears Std 19's = 30kg M6 19's 23.75 saving 6.25kg each A total of 25.5kg saving which is Massive... This is 4 stone in old money. I think the real reason for such a large saving in weight is for 2 reasons. One they are forged, and the fact that existing tyres are run flats and apparently have 3 times thicker tyre walls. This is all inspite of the fact that the new tyres are one size larger.

I like the satin black finish. Mine were gloss black but like these better..

You're mad lol: Build quality ain't as good on the Zed IMHO, the leather is really poor for one, but 2 very different cars and difficult to compare. At least te Zed is a bit more exclusive.

To me thats not a benefit, its a disadvantage I prefer my longer spokes allowing more of the discs and calipers to be viewed, especially when I get a proper blinging brake kit on my zed soon Yes but your disks and calipers will now look too small, especially as they are designed to fit behind 17 inch wheels. This look just isn't attractive. Reminds me of a Corsa with big alloys... Read the last sentence of my post OK we'll call you Corsa Boy from now on.........

You are of course open to your own oppinion. I luv 'em personally. They are the real deal. proper split rims. Also, the double lip as you put it also has the benefit of making the centres smaller. This stops the brakes looking tiny as most 19's and also saves weight. Did I also mention that these are forged centre and rims, unlike Rays which are just forged centres I believe.

The new 3 series coupe looks so much better in the flesh. I went to the dealers the other day and they had one in red with the M Sport bumpers and big alloys and it looked superb. Somehow the car looks bland in 2D pictures, but the curves seem more extreme in the flesh..

My daughters 2002 Megane Coupe is up for sale. It's a cracking car and in great condition. 2 Lady owners from new and only 36k miles. Just had a full service and 2 new tyres. It's the Fidji special edition so has the half leather, air con, alloys, CD etc. As it's a 1.4 16v it's very cheap to insure and very economical, i.e. 40 mpg around town. First to see will buy. On a slightly different note, I watched a BBC program the other day called The Real Hustle and there was a scam featured where designer brand clothes were sold in Motorway service stations. I was nearly had by exactly the same scam about a year ago. I pulled into a motorway services near Manchester Airport in my UY 350z, and 2 itialian guys immediately drove over to me and asked if I was interested in a free Armarni Leather Jacket. The car must have done it... Their story was basically that they were Armarni Reps and would sell me 3 genuine Armarni leather jackets, (including all the paperwork), to raise enough money to pay for the hire car, (they were on their way to the airport). The only reason they were doing this was because they had been robbed or some **** and bull story about a company credit card not working. Anyway, to cut a long story short I said no thanks, not my style. The jackets would of course have been fakes, and they were after £300 for the three, (2 gents and a ladies), supposedly worth £3k. My intuition paid off...
