  1. Chaps would like to make the most of my car but need a head start and therefore would like to know of a good detailer in Oxfordshire/Reading area. Not looking to spend £500 but do know it would be relatively expensive. PS this is on a silver 5 series touring that is 6 months old.
  2. In my experience wet always leads tom far less wear on tyres, also speed are lower so brakes are not used as much, more often but less pressure due to slow speeds. I problem I have in the wet is the car fills with water quickly. Can be more fun in the wet, but if track half dry and half wet absolutely hate it as cannot get a good set-up.

    Air Vent Trims

I had dealer fit ones and the very first summer they lifted in the middle so looked bowed. Always bugged me but one of those smalls things you never get round to complaining about to the dealer. Never seen the sticker ones in the flesh so cannot comment but got to be better than the dealer ones.
  4. very little damage done on the first one a the extinguisher worked, the photographer just did an awsesome job capturing it.
  5. Kev seen bigger flames from SC Honda elise/exige @ http://www.elisetrophy.com/file_reposit ... 1280px.jpg (Was due to driveshaft seal but looks impressive, I know I was there and amazing how OIL burns.) also is the over-run http://www.elisetrophy.com/Image:S1R3_g ... oto_03.jpg And is this one is just bad luck (but raced again) http://www.elisetrophy.com/Image:S1R7_g ... oto_16.jpg is a good looking S1
  6. Always managed to 70 ltrs in mine with probs.
  7. even room for sarnies beast http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=6066556 and one of mine http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=6066534
  8. Chaps Anyone fancy a great track day at famous circuit. I will be going with LoT again. http://www.autotrackdays.com/Product/2/ ... -2008.aspx I did it last year and was great and a safe circuit. Is 2.5miles long but great fun and pic opportunity is the best. Is a safe track as long as you are not stupid, the run offs are designed for cars that do 200mph. Vid of an elise doing it last year its the week before the Classic race (not the 24Hr) so might be worth staying on if into that kind of thing.
  9. Anyone that has been to the last 2-3 Le Mans 24hrs will know what a diesel AUDI can do.
  10. Does not seem people like it as much as I and I only suggested to help new out. If the consensus thinks its will not add value and people are too busy to implement then not a problem with me. Chris is you want to lock it to ensure its put to bed then please do so.
  11. I would recommend using as high as possible. If you think the card is going to be used up quickly then take on highest for first 300 shots and if you think you may run out of space then switch to lower settings and you will likely get another 200-300. If you are taking more than 600 shots then you are taking too many. Therefore delete the multiples you took "just in case" If the highest is also saving as RAW (as in Canon's highest settings) then switch that off as I can guarantee 99% of us never need RAW.
  12. seems lower/fatter/wider. Think the rear looks the same but the rear hips stick out a bit more. Most of the Bemmer boys think it looks closer to a Z6 in looks which is not a bad thing http://www.leftlanenews.com/wp-content/ ... dg=1&idi=1 . Cannot remember who got a Z4 on here, perhaps they could tell the differences.
  13. Looks good but still not a GTR. http://www.bmw-sg.com/BMW-Media/BMW-Vid ... -on-Video/

The numbers I have seen say different. There does seem to be people bigging up the tax on imports but I cannot believe the £30k in Japan will go up to £55k. If you import now-ish you may be able to sell in 6 months with either very little or no lose as the massively self imposed delay of NMGB will boost the price. Is anyone getting a fixed price of £55k or will that go up closer to release, I do not know but surely stealer taking deposits must be give some form of fixed number. IF I was in the market I would get an import. But as I have just changed car I will look at getting a 1-2 year old import in 2-3 years as I still think it looks an awsesome car to have. If it is just the warranty that NMGB will not honour then would also like to see what happens if you import from a EEC country and they have to honour the first year. Do we know what other country are going to be paying for the GTR. If it is repairs/spare they will not supply then my insurance company will pick that up as it will be fully covered. End of the day we will have to give a couple of months to see what is going to be a real import price. But good luck to anyone getting import, I am going be green with envy.
  15. Shire, I was one of the first to get one made from Spill well over 2 years ago. Too be honest I think they help a little on idle but not much different on anything above 2000 RPM. So if you have a problem with idle would be worth speaking to spill as I am sure he can do different colours.
  16. Think I only paid £30ish for grounding kit from Spill. Left it on the car by mistake
  17. Get12 You going down the import route to save £10-20k or going UK. Either way going to be a great car. Have Nissan official announced the distribution/authorised stealers as I thought that had not been done yet and stealer where taking money possibly under false pretences, BUT I could be wrong. Would be good to know where we can get to see one in the flesh at a UK dealer.

John Are the new owners likely to have more than £20,000 of warranty work done on the car, if not, then must be better to buy import and pay for things that go wrong. If more goes wrong on a £55k GTR than does on a £30k 350z then shame on Nissan. I know I certainly did not have £20,000 of warrenty work done on mine.
  19. Most TV's or vid's have S-Video. If the TV does not, then you may be able to feed the output of sky to Vid and output that to the TV via scart. This was only to test as not a good permanent fix. Just to see if it is the SKY+ box at fault or other leads etc...... Other way is to temp swap the card and box with a neighbour that has SKY+ to see if it is the box at fault.
  20. Welcome Paul. I've gone the other way and gone from a Zed to a 530i touring. Is your chipped as did think about the 535d with remapping being quicker than the Zed. But in the end just too worried about turbo blow ups of the 120/320/520 d's to go that way. The Zed is one of the best cars for the money. As for the VX220 just to lightweight......(forgive the pun) should have got as 7 as much more fun and you would still have it.
  21. Just to let you know this is from a Caterham forum and the zed has at least twice as much space as a Caterham. May work, may not but LOMOTO may be the first to help. I have 2 track wheels for the rear of a zed, that live in Oxford but could in Reading most days. Anyone can have them if they buy me a single beer one day. (these are track wheels only as straight and true but cosmetically not the best) Do not want money as they are only worth less than £100 but I am not willing to drive 200 miles just to give them away and postage would cost too much to make it worthwhile for the receiving party. Also looking for someone passing Oxford/Reading going to disgy's area to drop off a couple of 350z-UK numbers plates.
  22. Points do not make prizes in this case. The way it works is there is a "donate" button next to the "profile" and "PM" buttons at the bottom of your posts. Therefore if I ask "how do I unlock 2 doors with one click" and you come back with the answer, I just click your donate button and give you points, simple. Like you, I do not know many of the answers, just looking to let people know what other forums/clubs do to make it a better place. I am sure that someone with a HSV could let us know what is good and different over there and then we could nick all the best ideas from everywhere, this end up with this great place getting even better. on SELOC Kev can probably see 150 people online at the same time. They must be doing something good we can steal from there, not that many more elises than 350z. (they do have 10000 members)
  23. I travel a bit and willing to help also, but it works out a bit strange at times and many can help out. I had a chap from Bristol drop a hood off at Reading where I work, then the other chap from somewhere picked it up. The problem was they could not meet up a a convenient time, I just acted as a holding area until the second chap finished his work and picked up from me. I did not actual go anywhere.
  24. Its all done if you want to, nothing is forced on any members and seems to work. I started with nothing and people were very willing to posts answers. No one asked for points, it was just something I noticed which was different. 100% you do not need to pay for help, the same people will posts answer irrespective if the system was there or not. It just help the newbie work out if the answer is coming from a chap who has been donated points, could be he knows what he is talking about or could be he has lots of mates. Either way you still get information and no one asks for anything in return which is exactly what is done here.
