  1. Whilst on the topic of stealing good ideas from other sites. On the 7 site I use there is an Altruistic Delivery service. What it means if you need something moving round the country but not in a hurry and do not want to pay for couriers then you post a request to see if anyone is going your way. Ie, if you buy spare wheel from a member down south and you live in Jockland then you post to say "anyone coming from London to Glasgow." You may be lucky but if not then you use a courier. Please Note: This is not intended to be a same day / next day delivery service. If you need 24 hour delivery then a commercial concern will guarantee it. Similarly, all persons involved will be volunteers doing you a favour and therefore if you feel you need insurance for the transportation use a commercial courier. On the 7 site people can make a donation for the service to a charity the 7 club support but again up to the member to donate or not.

    Nokia 6230i

Anyone got a Nokia 6230i which is not getting used. Not wanting to pay much as have a standard 6230 which works just looking for something slightly better which will fit in my phone craddle.
  3. The Ariel is the block in front of the rear view mirror. Do not know if it is used when using the bluetooth as I had a craddle with the phone in it. Anyone else with the bluetooth and had the Ariel moved to the left.
  4. yeap, you lose points but will gain more the more you post, eventually you gain knowledge and then people start to give you some in exchange for info. The donating of points is not forced and if you do not want to give any away you do not need to, more a "thank you" thing.
  5. From experience of track cars would always let warm up as oil gets thinner and allows for proper flow. I am talking about K series which are prone to HGF. With true race cars they do not have the same level of cooling so they could not let it warm up using the engine as a heating method. With F! the everything is so close in tolerance they would thrash pretty quickly, but ther engine get rebuilt every second race and they kind of do not do oil changes in the way you do with a production car. My true background is in jet engines reving above 26,000rpm and totally difference ball game a they lose oil until warm but that takes less 10 seconds so no real idle time. In a Zed if I want to keep it for 3 years then I let it warm up, otherwise would probably just drive straight off. As Kev says BMW's are different since it does not have water OR oil temp gauges. Does not even have a oil pressure gauge either which shocked me but I hope they know what they are doing. Even stranger it does not have a dip stick, only an electronic one.
  6. NO. Just a suggestion and will not stop anyone posting and should change people behaviour at all. Its just help you work out who is using it as a social site, which is great for entertainment and helps set US apart from other 350z web sites AND the people that you look for technical answers from.
  7. Have you had the Ariel mod. It is moved over to the far left of the screen away from the mic. Does help a little but the system still is not great.
  8. All Do not know if it is possible with the software we run but one interesting difference on a BMW forum I visit is the concept of points for posting. If you post you get a point, if you reply you get a few more BUT the big difference is that you can donate your points to someone else if they help you out. What this does is effectively differentiates the POST WHORE from the chaps who have the knowledge. I can see if someone posts a lot by there post count but if they have massive points it means they kind of know what they are talking about. Not saying anything wrong with this place as I will stick around due to the great people here but just a thought.
  9. H5 Try using the S-Video output to see if it is just the scart/composite output that is hosed. May have same result but work a go.
  10. Couple of comments about Bedford: 1. I know of £14k damage done to a Noble when hit by a VX220. 2. I knocked off the oil pressure sensor switch when cutting across the grass. So NO circuit is entirely safe but Bedford does have benefits. The biggest problem I would have is the EVO and Scobby crowd who want to drift around every corner but do not have the skill do so. I suggest if you want safety, work out how many like minded cars are booked in. If it is full of EVO/Scobby avoid, if it all 7's, BMW, Porkers and Fezza then they have more to lose than someone in a Zed and ware likely to be more careful. Another reason Bedford may be good is the noise restriction, hence the heavy modded crowd cannot run and therefore most car will be similar speed. Be warned a Radical approaches at unbelievable speed differential and wll get you twitching to get out the way quickly.
  11. I had a uk model for 3 years so not biased. JDM when tested on a dyno run with about 20 UK cars had the highest output and was 10-12 bhp more. He was even running 95 fuel IIRC whilst other had 98 or 95. (was talk that since it is mapped for 100 RON that might have been why)old If over 3 years then old there is not issues as both would be out of warranty. If less than 3 years then the warranty would be my concern. But if the saving is 2-3k difference then that would make up for some of the work or I believe the insurance could be slightly more. However last point apparently cleared if shopping around for insurance. Nissan UK will not be happy speaking to you but they give shoddy service away so no great loss. If I was in the market for another zed then would consider a JDM as nissan UK already took more money from me than they should have. Last thing, GO and GET one NOW as they are great cars for the money.
  12. Any time you remove a heavier panel and replace with carbon one makes sense to me, but any time you stick an extra bit on top of an existing panel and add weight then WHY...... Most things on the zed are fairly light already, ie, ally bonnet so unless you are changing things like the doors then cannot see the point. For the visual effect not sure about it as excessive driving will still lead to pitting of the varnish and soon looks worse than paint.
  13. Yeah Looking at getting rid of some of my old bits like the boot thing, silver bulbs even have a large ariel somewhere. Will post up here first as have a 350z-uk number plate free to good home (would look silly on a bimmer).
  14. I know someone on here was looking for track wheels/tyres. could be worth looking at http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-350Z-18-Gr ... dZViewItem Not so pretty but at that price and for track work they would be perfect. PS not mine, just saw them when ebay'ing
  15. Just need to lose the roof and screen to have more fun.
  16. mine always skipped in cold weather, never during summer. Do you leave heating on in the car or warm up the inside first. When replaced second time over a year ago did not miss a beat.
  17. used mine as a daily drive for 30 miles each way and no real probs. Get 27ish mpg on normal driving style on the A but could go down to early 20 if going for it. On motorways inc London to Scotland would get almost 30 is staying relatively legal speeds. The seat is not greatest for long journeys, so 6 hours a day may be an issue (after 6-7 in a row up to scotland just wanted to get out of the seat.) But my 1 hour each way to work was never a problem and I am big bloater.
  18. I said the one from silverstone looked terrible. New orange looked great, but with dull black lines looked BAD. if you go for it do it try with the thick line having very thin parallel lines as that looks better on other cars. Look at the mustang on the left @ http://www.stickercity.com/store/home.php?cat=2371
  19. Kev, Do you know where the monitors/mics are, as one side of my car is quiet other noisy so may determine which day I choose. Hate lifting of but you have to sometimes. My exhaust on passenger side. Also anyone got a spare garage, may also book Donnington on the 23rd if I do one of these days. A garage for a week would save pulling the cat up and down twice in a week.
  20. Cheers chaps. Zed was very good for what I needed then, but just cannot tow with it or lug things back and forward to France therefore needs must.
  21. from another steve b You'll love the car, get out and enjoy driving it.
