  1. I decided to be original and ordered red look forward to seeing them
  2. i think your right. for most people a black one should work, and be almost invisible on the wheel
  3. fitting the first one is the hardest, once you get the knack of it all the others are easy
  4. isn't there only 2 miles of tarmac on the island, and everyone rides a bike; i'm surprised neither of you have seen each other.
  5. was about to suggest the same thing. i need to ring them to as i need to book in for a remap.
  6. TGM always have good feedback, local dealers tend to be useless, i personally value a good independent garage service history over a FMSH if all the receipts are there. i keep everything, i also run a spreadsheet with the date, mileage, cost and description of everything done. when i sell it i will put it all together with all the receipts to back up the work. did it with previous cars and it generally makes them easier to sell as its very evident of the care and time taken on the car.
  7. You can post your ECU off to abbey and they can drop a new map on it to make better use of the mods. its not as good as having the car there, but better than not at all
  8. even if i just get back my old engine cover, at least i can do something with it. will try the ebay route and facebook route tonight
  9. done can just picture the steam coming out of his ears if he gets trounced
  10. saw one near me. its huge its the fat daddy porsche
  11. just found 2 telephone numbers online websearch but both now seem t be disconnected. they have a facebook profile, i can;t access it at work, but will try messaging on there later. they also have an ebay account will be messaging that as well what annoys me is that if i actually drive down to collect whats owed it will cost me the same in petrol; as what i'm due in return.
  12. i used there system, it went through, but no reply. as it stands i think i'm about £65 out of pocket not as much as you. but still annoyed. will email again
  13. talk about milking a design for all its worth. lots of these manufacturers feel that they have to set a brand where all there cars look similiar. and i ask why. what might suit one car doesn't always suit another. if it needs to be designed individually then do it. porsche have some amazing engineering, its a shame they don't package it with the same care as they put into building them.
  14. falcon will sort you out. extremely good knowledge
  15. sorry to see you taking a step back, hope to see you back in some smart wheels soon
  16. hayward and scott are an exhaust fabricator and have made stuff for all kinds of unique cars. manufactureing a copy of the originals would not be a major task for them. plus they'd do it out of stainless so it should last better.
  17. you get 4 protectors that each go up to 21 inches if you want an extra one its about £10
  18. you just trim the burr off a replacement is only a tenner if its desperately required. cheaper than a refurb. my set just payed for themselves. if i hadn;t fitted them i would now be forkin out £40 to fix the damage
  19. lol i bet she stayed in the collapsed tent for hours
  20. it was like that when i bought the car, its a slight buckle right on the edge of the lip. its never leaked, and runs fine. when i had them refurbished they did try to straighten it but they couldnt get it completely back to round. not actually noticeable normally but the close up pic makes it more evident
  21. well today i tested my rim protectors; not deliberately i hasten to add but by accident; i was forced into a curb by 4x4 who thought his side of the road included mine as well the damage is considerable and the curbing goes nearly half way round, but surprisingly I'm not bothered. the rim protectors have done their job. they took a beating. but i shall use the stanley blade technique at thje weekend to restore them to new. any way here are the pics as you can see if they weren't fitted the damage on black rims would have been hugely visible. and i would be going mental. but i must admit the whole experience was very stress free. here are some pics for those that wanted to see how much they stick out.
  22. perosnally i'd go down to your local tyre place. and for about £10 they'll swap out your valve stem
  23. cheers much appreciated, i have just dropped them an email mesage on their website. but if they get back to me will be another thing i wasn't rude either, just asked them to contact me and what it was in reference to
